a friend of mine has been very seriously considering breeding rats, im sure he would love the insight your videos may have about the behind the scenes of being a rat breeder

I know this vid is about 2 years old now but does anybody know what to do if one of my adults keeps drawing blood to babies, they're all males and the adult thats more aggressive seems to puff up whenever he sees or smells the babies, he's fine with his cagemate though. The cagemate also seemed to be fine with one of the babies (haven't tried introducing the other yet) but he still seems ok with them both. Would the aggressive one need to be neutered like the vid says or could it be something else?

I just recently gotten two rats. One rat attached the other and ripped open his scrotum so the vet had to finish the neuter. When or should I try to reintroduce them? Or should I get the other fixed too?

If you use boxes etc without any holes- my best tip is a step drill bit. Can be used on metal, acrylic, any plastic without it cracking:)

At 9:36 , the blue & pink fleece has a decorative edge with little knots and loose strands. It looks really cute so I'd like to copy that, but would that be safe for rats?

Are there any fabrics you recommend to make hammocks out of for warmer weather? I made a bunch out of fleece but that seems too heavy for spring/summer. I’m kind of overwhelmed by the different fabrics options!

Really helpful video! Thanks for the ideas. I wanted to add that with fleece blankets I’ve used, I was able to get rid of the thread at the hem by just snipping it and then pulling the thread. The stitches easily popped out. Maybe it wouldn’t work that way on all blankets tho.

Too friggin cute. Id like to see a video comparing rat tail body language. Mostly they just drag it or thrash for balance but i have one boy who undulates his tail with perfect fine motor control (usually when hes about to pounce) and another who moves it spastically when hes bruxing hard. It makes him look like a battery powered halloween decoration 🙄

Those containers are way too small. Maybe as a temporary holding when trying to rehome rats or having to separate groups, but basically at least four times the volume would be appropriate for two or more rats.

Can you pls do a $tree safe rattie segment? I'm sure u already did. But an update w current inventory..since they are now $1.25-$5 ,would really help me. I have a lil clan of 6. They are feeder saves. I work a retail shop that only orders 1 rat for pet sale at a time. However, our frozen rats are $14 and the 1 "pet" rat is $9. Sooo, you see how that can end. Any $ I save on upkeep is more $ I can spend on saving a rattie from being food. Ty sooo much for ur channel. U rock rat mama💜💜💜
