Those containers are way too small. Maybe as a temporary holding when trying to rehome rats or having to separate groups, but basically at least four times the volume would be appropriate for two or more rats.

They are quite large. As a 5’4” 190 adult i can fit inside them.
Going by the pet recommendations of 2.5sf per rat they can hold 3 adult standards.
Going based on the science of rat care they could easily house more than the single standard and two dwarves i have in them.
I choose to follow the science since it gives definite minimums that going below cause harm. According to those the shortest a cage can be before causing harm is 7 inches. This far exceeds that.
It’s also far deeper and wider and provides room for climbing, enrichment, toys, digging and foraging (theres 5 inches of bedding in there).
