For the first time, I noticed what appears to be a city skyline in the stars behind Astel. Likely remnants of the Eternal City that Astel destroyed.

Honestly don't think this was where farum was. There's not even a single piece of farum on the jagged peak which would be extremely weird if it used to be there.

there's a mini boss on top of the area that lifts from below the rot. if you pause at 2:28 on the video, off to the right there is another obelisk shape sticking out of the rot lake- there's another pressure plate at it's base, you can ride that up and find the foe!

It’s a cool visual but I always found it extremely weird that the chandeliers are hanging at an angle with no reason at all. It bugs me.

I feel like Placidusax was the one who hid the city, not Marika, as he's in his arena waiting for his god/recovering from Bayle's betrayal.

I did not think that Frenzied Capital was an actuall map render, it looked so... Oil Painting-y. The fact that stuff was rendered using in-game assets, IN-ENGINE, is extremely impressive to me.

It's cool to see that Rykard's arena was genuinely designed with the rest of Volcano Manor in mind. I wonder if the cavern is where the lava initially rose out of, or if the lava from the crater is trying to sink into the cavern. The pillars that formed from dripping lava seem to be giving some structural support to the roof, and it's interesting how the shed snake skins imply the serpent may have made each pillar from itself. Thanks again, Kami Sensei!

If you run out of areas to examine how about getting a close look at character models? They often have easily overlooked details. For one, though not Elden Ring, I've always wanted a good close look at Slave Knight Gael's boss model for the cavity in his chest.

The mess of chains, cages, and chandlers is so funny to think about, in-universe. Either Rykard took the time to personally set those all in place, pre- or post-snake, or he had an entire army of workers spend days rigging the things up.

Honestly wouldn't put it past Marika to be involved in hiding Farum Azula from the Lands Between. She did it with the Hornsent, why not the dynasty that predated them as well?

Only weakness of this amazing arena that hampers its presentation is that we are teleported directly to it, rendering it separate from Volcano Manor. If it was possible, it would have been perfect for us to descend into the fiery bowels of the Mt. Gelmir, fighting serpent men in volcanic tunnels along the way, until reaching Eiglay's ancient lair. Or, if we are "invited", descend slowly on an elevator deep down to Lord's chambers, giving us harrowing and apprehensive glimpse and wait for what is to come.

Wait, so what did farum azula look like in the past?

I just want to point out that the corpse pillars have a snake sculpture wrapping around the corpses. Meaning that in lore some poor sculptor had to go in afterwards and sculpt around them while a giant snake was sleeping next to him (presumably). Talk about workplace hazards.
