Civil War Gatling Guns! Hand-cranked, Rapid-firing
I wish it was easier to get civil war gear in the uk.
Many places in the US (of course) I'm assuming that shipping is not cheap.
I didn't know that there were so many versions of the early carbine.
quite a few companies trying to make it big with government contracts. THANKS pard for the comment.
I cant help it. I love these reenactments. All wars are horrible, but history is always fascinating.
This is a great comparison video.
and quite a collection of historical fire arms. thanks pard for the comment ... hope you and yours are doing well.
@@1stminnsharpshooters341 we are. That was probably the only video I've seen with every or almost every cartridge rifle or carbine of the Civil War.
I didn't know that there were so many carbines.
Always wanted to see that!
great place to visit for sure pard.
Why not lube the Burton balls first? You may find the balls go through the sizing die easier.
Thanks for the tip pard -- I'll give this a try.
Good video i just use crisco or bore butter. Barrel relatively clean after a shot.
That's a beauty. 3rd-most common cannon in the Civil War? How much does one of these babies cost?
20-ish thousand
Cmon man don’t be a Yankee
Few moving parts all made of solid and well built pieces. It worked fine for more than 150 years and can handle 150 more.
If you had to pick just one Carbine from this presentation what would it be?
Long live the union army
Awesome video

Nice video of a great event in Northern Iowa.
relaxing weekend under canvas and with good friends for sure.
Great video pard!
many thanks Sir!
Great video of a great event. I greatly enjoyed this event and spending time with you and all of the others in the Third Minnesota.
thank you pard - I enjoyed visiting with you around the camp fire.
A small event by appearance but looked like a very well-rounded quality event. I wish I could have been there but England is just too far away.
yes sir, smaller event as you noticed. Infantry wise we had 12 muskets and the Confederates had about 18. Lots of time for vesting around the camp fire. Thanks Pard for the comment.

That’s a good looking chicken… ironic, I had cheesy scrambled eggs for dinner… That cake looks amazing too
Thanks Red Baron ... the group cooking the chicken had several members back out of attending last minute ... which worked well for myself at dinner time. THANKS pard for the comment. --LT
This looks like such a great event. Smashing video chap, love it.

This is so cool! Great vid mate
Thanks for the visit
Did u see the EA encirled cartouche on the stock?
good eye .. I never notice this.
It's Erskine Allen the Springfield armory inspector , keep it intact it doubles the guns value
This is not a reenactment! You built a time machine and recorded the entire civil war!
ha ha ha .. hope you enjoyed all the fun at this event pard. Feel free to check out our other adventures .. stop back any time. --LT
Your charge is weak... I've shot 1858 Remington's and 1851s and 1860 army's.. 36 cal and 44 cal. Brother I can pack them tight and full and penetrate 2 2x4s together no problem. In 36 and 44.. I've packed 44s so hard and tight that they kick like a 357... I've tried to blow up cylinders packing with hammer and ramrod into each chamber and couldn't blow them up. Tighter the fit the more velocity...
yes I was cautious with the lighter loads pard. I was a bit newer to the BP revolvers and of course got more confident with loads over usage. thanks Pard for the comment! --LT
I love how when the confederates are charging they’re asking if all the union soldiers are they OK and they’re saying they look good and they all make friends at the end. That’s just true spirit and that warms my heart bro that’s amazing. That’s another reason why I can’t wait to go to reenactments and be in reenactments! But it’s also cool but also surprising that like 13 or 15 year-old boys and girls their dancing that’s pretty cool. I guess I don’t know if you ever wanna go out reenacting follow your advice.
glad you enjoyed the clip of the rebels giving us union "dead" boys a good natured hard time ... truly a great group of folks on both side of the line. THANKS pard for the comment and well keep post'en our adventures in the field. --LT

im assuming that most of these guns a 10-pounder Parrott rifle's? if im wong please correct me but very cool seeing the operations.
You are correct Sir 10 pound Parrot rifles. We do live fire these (at the range of course) and this is quite the experience .. for your interest pard at ua-cam.com/video/i7x3VxW0uGw/v-deo.html
There were not that many trees & shrubs anywhere, if my memory of old photos serve me right. This was pretty much bald knobs & prairie.
you are likely correct pard, when I was marching and looking for Indians my thought was that they could be hiding anywhere and likely see us coming from miles out.
Re-Enactors PSH, #skirmisklife #N-SSA. (j/k, never reenacted before. Bet it's a good time)
who wonn this battle..
Hey Pard - good question ... this battle was one by the Union and to many considered the turning point on the Civil War -- here a clip for a bit more info won by the Union, is widely considered the Civil War's turning point,
Hey, nice video. I was in this battle, just on the other side

Pickles and sauerkraut to deal with scurvy? 🤔
Even google believes this to be true "Not only are they delicious but they're packed full of minerals, vitamins and good bacteria. Pickles have a high concentration of vitamins such as Vitamin K, Vitamin C and Vitamin A, this is due to water being drawn out of the pickles by the salty brine they are pickled in." - hope you are doing well pard.
Holy super farbs.. wow that's taking mainstreaming to a new low
Union artillery reenactor here. Wow! Fantastic impressions! Not a speck of farb in camp! That's what the 1860's looked like! Well done!
