To be honest, I grew up with Pictures of Matchstick Men, so to me, Spare Parts is actually a pretty good album and bloody well produced by Alan Schroeder

The atmosphere was fantastic! Like a football crowd Unbelievable I did get chicken skin(goosebumps;))all over during the concert.. The playing wasn’t that good let’s be honest But is was love all over❤

Francis Rossi and Status quo, Rossi soldi nothing as.a solo artist so stick it' out under the Quo banner .

What about the American mix, of the whole album, remixed for America, very weak. I have the album. As for the album cover that was thrown together by Phonogram, the band wouldn't have have.any say.

I got the cd a couple of days ago. It´s actually a really good record....since I´m a "shuffle addict" I absolutely love the tracks "My side of the road" and "Tried and tested".....erlier today I found myself smiling when listening to "spooning" in the car 😁👌

I know I liked it when it first came out, but the time it really clicked with me was one night a few months later, during a particularly stressful and anxious time, when I happened to put it on late at night with headphones and it just lifted me out of the dark frame of mind I was in. It's a really cosy, warm album that lets you forget about the world for a while.

The live performance at the roundhouse was great Even non Quo fans admitted that Quo had nice songs Francis&Rick looked irritated to each other during the performance

Hi Jamie I did see Status Quo on the Aauostic tour at Wolverhampton civic hall. I was sitting down in the seats 💺 about 4 or 5 rows back. It was a great experience listening to these so gs being stripped back and reworked. It was a great idea who ever came up with it, it became a great success. Never before have I heard Status Quo songs with strings and accordion 🪗 included very clever idea 💡 👍 in my opinion. Also seen them at the Royal Albert Hall in London that was a magical night 🌙 ✨️. Great atmosphere, incredible venue very regal with red velvet seats . Amazing venue . The Aquostic album is a great album and did very well for them. Great Podcast series Jamie , very informative and interesting to listen too.

I was lucky too go to there first acoustic concert in the round house London, then two years later at the Royal Albert hall both brilliant performances very different.🤟

The problem of all Quo albums is mostely the shitty sound quality. It sounds often like a phone speaker. All reeditions are taken from the same source. They've done a vinyl mix at first and afterwards they took the same mix for the CD as well. In addition there is alot of distortion and compression in their sound because of bad volume adjustement. If you listen to Rick Parfit where he explains his rythm method he's performing Caroline. There you can hear a fat and clear sound from the backing track. That's what I'm missing on all of their CD's. Why they never take the multitrack for a precise remix? If you listen to the remix of Jethro Tull by Steve Wilson you know what I mean.

QUO is the most amazing album from the band to me. Just like Mick, i received it as a 13 year old teenager and it guided my youth . "Backwater - Drifting Away & Lonely Man" are my absolute stand out`s - "Fine Fine Fine" & "Break The Rules" were always "skippers" lol The entire album from artwork to audio has a distinctive hard & dark edge the band never picked up again - I am proud having it in my shelf.

I have the LP and the Turan remaster. Didn't bother with any of the deluxe reissues other than 'Rockin' All Over The World' which featured the John Eden remix. The others offered nothing I didn't already have apart from one or two inferior quality live audience recordings.

Bad Company is an outtake, I don't know why it was listed as a demo. I think they did the same for Cadillac Ranch. I'm not sure about the source for the Now Hear This mix, but i dont think it comes from any form of master. It'll either be a cassette or vinyl rip. Edit: Again, the LOAI demo / backing track isn't a demo and is wrongly labelled. It's just an instrumental / working mix.

Great to see this album getting some appreciation and i agree with all your comments. Don't know if you're aware but there's a couple of mixes of the tracks that don't have so much of the brass and strings on them. I think the mono version of Little Miss Nothing on the Spare Parts deluxe they are barely audible, if there at all. The B-side version ('single mix') of So Ends Another Life is much more stripped down - i think it's on a compilation called The Technicolour Dreams of The Status Quo.

The album was ignored by the music press, I think mainly because by this time Quo wasn't doing well sales wise, although they where constantly playing gigs; and pop music was moving on from psychedelia. I purchased the vinyl German reissue in about 1977 to add to my collection, but didn't ever play it. However, I knew all the tracks which where featured on the two 'Golden Hour Of' albums issued back in '73 and '75. Certainly value for the money! My favourite tracks from SP are 'When I Awake' and 'So Ends Another Life'. Cheers, look forward to your next podcast.

I think that it is the only Status Quo album cover that would not be issued today and with good reason so definitely worst. As regards the official band album releases, both Aquostics would take some beating for last place, in my opinion. Quo has to take first place for me if you are simply looking at the best front cover. But, it has a dull back cover and no gatefold. If you take the complete package into account, Piledriver is my favourite with its iconic front cover photo and eye-catching gorilla and rocket gatefold design. But, I could see the case for the lavish Quo Live and the clever If you can't stand the Heat design.

I was hoping you were going to say it was the Minehead gig without all the shite on screen, but ah well... Still got my old DVD copy of it which rarely gets watched because of all the awful graphics. Lately I've been raiding the charity shops for DVDs. They're so swamped with physical media people are chucking out that they're practically giving it away. A Barnardo's near me do any 10 DVDs for a quid, box sets for 2 quid. Only Quo related thing I've found so far was a copy of Bula Quo. I didn't buy it... 🤣But I've had stacks of decent films and series from there over the past year and haven't even spent 20 quid yet. It's worth doing if you're sick of being messed about by streaming platforms.

I have from time to time looked on bbc I player in the hope the would put the Set from Glastonbury on there from 2009 or there sets they have done in Hyde Park for bbc Radio 2 witch they done in 2012/16 & the acoustic set a few years later. But not on there unfortunately 😕

I am not a massive QUO fan, but , Back bone is one of the most enjoyable albums i have heard in a long time. It is a great album .
