I'm only aware of a few of Quo's song's such as Rockin All Over The World, Whatever You Want, Matchstick Men,Get On Down & In The Army Now, but I've never massively dived into all their discography like yourself, maybe I should consider it!
I'm a big fan of 80s sounding music also, in the 80s did Quo go down that commercial route with synthesisers and more poppier sounding riffs ? If so can you recommend any of their albums with that 80s production ?

The Quo did produce some very 80's sounding albums during that decade. Check out Back to Back, in my opinion it's their most 80's sounding record out of all of the ones they ever did. "Going downtown tonight" has a lot of synths and "Your kind of love" has that typical 80's drum sound. "Marguerita Time" is also cool and probably the most famous song out of the 3 I've just mentioned. "Just supposin'' (another album they did) would be my second recommendation for you if you're interested.
Let me know if you liked any!

I recall the album “If you can’t stand the heat” . John , their drummer added a couple of synth drums in a couple of tracks. Listen to Again and Again. I was more a fan of their 70’s stuff but have continued to follow them.

Great song. I preferred their clips that were simply the band performing on a smoke covered stage. Looked more real. Same as they were in concert . Live on stage.

There’s some good songs on the Whatever You Want album. Runaway is my favourite. I think that they probably didn’t play WYW at Live Aid is because the intro is pretty slow and it might’ve killed the high energy of the start of the show

A great earworm of a song, beautifully put together and produced, and a real shot in the arm at the time to the band given the previous two disappointing (by their high standards anyway) albums. Not a fan of any other version of the song - the original is still unsurpassed. It would have been good if they had put it into the setlist for the second FF reunion in 2014 and freshened it up a little more than they did.😚
