We make fishing lures out of a stack of quarters using mokume gane!
In this video watch Graz and Andrew take a stack of quarters, heat them up and smash them into fishing lures using the ancient japanese technique called "mokume gane"
Mokume Gane is a Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns, as well as that laminate itself. Mokume-gane translates closely to "wood grain metal" or "wood eye metal" and describes the way metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain.
Will they succeed?
Will they catch anything with the lures they make?
Will they get sea sick?

You actually didn’t need to weld them together. The hammer welding, you did when you heated them and repeated stuck it combining the molecules into a single unit, is all you needed to do.

Yer Uncle Taz reporting in from two years in the future: Great boat based on Improv. Some notes: needs a stability element like a keel or rudder to help it keep straight. That said, I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't to nose heavy and thought it might have needed a void creating balloon during the filling of the head. Still- Well done.

Hi Xyla - I haven't seen anyone else think to use Halcyon for UV protection and I think it's a brilliant idea. I have been doing some resin design on new windows that will be installed when I'm finished. The resin side will be on the inside. I'd like to protect it from yellowing. Does it make sense to use the Halcyon on the glass side that will actually be on the outside and the part that the sun hits first?

What mm /brand bands did you go with. Did you add a swivel for your float line. Why doesn't the trigger guard go over the whole trigger? I like red too. Daren
