Hello there after following all the steps to install corporate edition, when I try to start Server I get "missing configuration data" . What am I doing wrong? when I start workstation, I can open it but I need server to import data. I installed it as local admin. Do i need to shut down old server? Thanks
Hello. If you are getting Missing configuration data, it usually is a rights issue or incompatibility between the installed version and the OIS on the computer. Try to run is as Administrator. If you still get the same error, please contact technical support if you are the installer or your installation company if you are the end user.
I finally figured it out. I was using software as domain admin user at first and for some reason domain admin don’t have full access. I then use local admin. That didn’t work either. Finally I enabled “Administrator” user account created by windows and use that account and it worked. Thanks for the reply

f you are an installer, you would want to contact our support line at : 1-800-222-1560 for further troubleshooting. If you are a user, then you would want to call your installer.
if i dont see message list wath i need to do
@ 5:34, in my list it shows the doors start with "(01.01)", and i have multiple connections so it is really hard to find which "(01.01)" is for which location. even tho i rename them start with the location name, but it is still hard to find the one i want at the first moment. why is your door name format is different than mine? how do i change it?

Hello. If the login screen is grayed out, that usually means the server is not running or the server is not accessible at this time. Make sure to start the EntraPass server. If it is running, please contact your installation company to ask for a service call as this might be caused by database corruption.

Hello, Unfortunately, there are too many variables to write a manual on how to change an IP. We strongly recommend contacting your installation company to get this done as it is possible the controllers will need to be defaulted and re-programmed to get the new IP information.

There is no Global Edition Demo software. Only Corporate and Special. Both are available on our website www.kantch.com
This is sad how over complicated it is to add a holiday and keep all the doors locked.... Seems like a super basic feature that should have been thought out more.
If the holiday applies to all your sites, all you need to do is create a System holiday and not click Selective holiday. Nothing else needs to be done. The Selective holidays are only used when you have multiple sites in multiple time zones where your holidays do not apply everywhere.

Hi Team, We recently upgraded from Windows 2012 R2 to Windows 2019 Data Centre - where Kantech server/workstation is installed on. Recently after this change in OS we have come across an issue where workstations on Windows 10 clients connecting to the server hangs they are getting the message "connecting to DB" on the loading bar. Currently this is only curable by rebooting the Windows server itself. We are thinking this could be an compatibility issue of Windows server and the Kantech version we have installed. Do you know if there is change in config we need to implement or a driver update or software change to get this running smoothly? As we never had issue on Windows 2012 R2. We are running Kantech Global Edition version 6.05 - I know this is very old but we have zero guidance or support on this application.
Unfortunately, version 6.05 is not compatible with Server 2019. It is compatible with Server 2008 R2 32, 64Bits std, Win 7 32, 64 bits, Win 8, Server 2012 standard and Server 2012 R2, Windows 10. Please contact your dealer for all information on upgrading your software. If you need to find a dealer, please contact Technical support at 888-222-1560 and we will be able to supply the information.

Unfortunately, there is not. Your operator does not have enough rights to see the menus under Devices. You will need to have an operator with Installer access level edit your operator.

I suppose you mean that you are unable to open the page in the browser. you can try with the MAC by typing KT-XX-XX-XX and using the last 3 sections of the MAC address. If this fails, please contact your technical support for help on this.

As long as you have a backup battery connected to the controller, it can work during a power blackout. The duration will depend on the usage.
Hi Team, I wondering if you could assist with the below: I am from the UK, we are running ENTRAPASS GLOBAL EDITION version 6.05.38 on Windows 10 we have an issue I am able to install the application and activate fine no issues but when trying to login the application using non privilege (not administrator) AD account the application will freeze after I enter username and password (not responding) when a launch the application with privilege (administrator) AD user the application will login and work fine BUT in Windows 7 the application works fine do non privilege and privilege user. Is there anything you know I have to change in setting or config when installing in Windows 10? Unfortunately I am the IT support for our company and the installation company is not longer active as a company. Any help is much appreciated.

@@kantechsupport6044 Sorry for the late reply on this but you are correct in the folder in Program Files called "Kantech" in the properties and security tab and permissions for "Users" group they require "Full Control", "Modify and "Write" permissions and this cures the problem.

Hello, While there is no way to wire the BioEntry 2 Suprema reader directly to a controller, they did write a program to do integration. Please contact them, to get additional information and the integration software. You will need to purchase a Connected Program license to use it.
is it possible to restore back up from different versions?back up from CE 8.00 then will be transfered to CE 8.20. thanks
Unfortunately, It is not possible to restore an older backup in newer software. That would be an upgrade. To do so, please contact your installation company. They will be able to help you.

unfortunately the version i am working on does not have the Event parameters in the system tab. so where else is it hiding . I was on hold with tech support for an 1hr 10 min and they disconnected. SO now i search youtube. I should not have to wait being a certifed tech. absolute crap. anyone else know ?
Thanks for letting us know that this video is out of date. We'll work on getting a new one made. In newer versions, Go to Definition/trigger and alarm. You can set the popup alarm there. Go to Options/Event color and priority to get the priority to assign the sound. Next time there is a long wait on the tech support line, go to our support portal support.kantech.com and you can use the live chat. There is always someone available to answer..
did I change access code 12345678 for another code because on my version of kantech DEMO this combination does not allow me to activate the OK button, thanks
Indeed, you can no longer use any default codes so you cannot use 12345678. It is not possible to guess why the OK does not light up. Please contact your installer or Kantech technical support for help with this issue

How would I put my main entrance door, which is on an unlock schedule, and also put it on a holiday schedule so that it stays lock on a holiday? I don't want the schedule at large, because I want the employees to be able to come in by swiping their card, only the main front door to stay locked.

Instead of a new install, what about an existing box that suddenly gives Controller Communication Failure (105)?
The same rules apply whether it's an existing connection that loses communication or a new one that will not start. As it is not possible to troubleshoot these kind of issues through comment sections, please contact your installation company to get a service call.
seems to be a bit of a error in the video when you mention pinging the controller. 5:56 the IP address you pinged was the server not the controller. The information is sound but video shows wrong IP address
Good eye. Indeed, both the IP in pinging the controller and telnetting the server were reversed. The information is accurate, though.

hello I have kantech corporate edition installed with two workstations, the pc that had a station was damaged and when I reinstall it when I want to register on the server, it throws me an error and I can't figure out where it came from, both the server and the station workstations have the same version, in the workstation I leave the blocked option distilled for authentication but when I want to register the station it throws me the error, port issue is not because everything is open and I verified it with telnet and downloading firewall and antivirus , on the workstation it throws me the error that says Authentication denied - callback failure and on the server in the log it tells me registration requested and after a few seconds it tells me registration denied and the reason for error callback failure, could you give me support that it could be what is happening
When you get Registration OK and then denied, that means that EntraPass doesn't have enough rights to write in the database. What you need to do is run the EpCeConnect.exe program as an administrator

Yes, you can disarm or arm on any door attached to the controller you are integrated to

I am assuming you are referring to DSC user codes. You are only limited by the DSC limits. If you are referring to the number of card holders, there is no limit while it's communicating with the controllers

Is it possible to revert a KT-400 working with EntraPass to a standalone operation?
It depends on the equipment and firmware. There are 2 versions of the KT-400 out there. The first generation and Revision1. It your controller is a revision 1, you can. If your controller has 2 large metal heatsinks to the bottom right, it is not a revision 1. You would need firmware 2.02 and above. Of course, the controller will need to be defaulted and reprogrammed for standalone mode

Silverlight support has been stopped by Microsoft. It is no longer downloadable for most operating systems, if any. Your best solution is to upgrade your software. We have moved away from Silverlight at the beginning of 2019 and are now using .NET framework
why that yellow triangle on some doors
That is to indicate that you cannot use extended schedules on those doors. They are more that likely form a KT-200 or KT-300.
let suggest an aditional hint: you must not energize the KT-1 with both means (PoE and power adapter), at the same time, otherwise, controller will not take the IP configuration, and will not connect. Thank you.
Sorry to write here. We have 10 doors (KT-100). They are connected in series. There is a door if connected then 5 does not work. What is the problem?

Hello, From the software, go to Options/Registration. The Serial number will be at the top. If your software no longer starts, please contact your installer as it can be difficult to get communication restarted after moving to a new computer.
Does the holiday schedule on a particular door override the current unlock schedule, meaning if I have the front door open from 9-5 pm M-F and a holiday week schedule will over ride the normal schedule and keep the door locked?

@@tritopboy i dont remmeber now but it ended up being something simple, like giving the user account permissions in the program files or program data folders, or something like that. Make sure you run it as admin.

Hello, I strongly recommend using the USB-485 adaptor instead of RS-232.

@@kabirmutahakm3056 Yes, the USB-485 works perfectly with all edition of EntraPass, even the Demo version. However, you will be limited to 1 controller and 10 cards.

@@kabirmutahakm3056 Unfortunately, as this is not our converter, it is not possible to know what the issue actually is. We can only offer support on our own equipment. With our converter, with that message, I would tell you to factory default the controller to get communication going.
Can I not send a Time/Attendance report via email if I'm using Special Edition? I've already successfully configured SMTP but when I generate a report to send via email I get an "Unable to contact email server" error.
If the test email was successful when you setup your email server, this should work. If not, you have to resolve that issue before you can send a report by email. As we cannot do troubleshooting through the UA-cam channel, you may need to contact your installer to resolve this
