Hi Sir, my KT-1 says IP DEVICE COMMUNICATION FAILED. What do I do?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to troubleshoot communication issues through comments. There could be multiple reasons why it lost communication. Please contact your installation company to get a service call so they can troubleshoot this issue.
seems to be a bit of a error in the video when you mention pinging the controller. 5:56 the IP address you pinged was the server not the controller. The information is sound but video shows wrong IP address
Good eye. Indeed, both the IP in pinging the controller and telnetting the server were reversed. The information is accurate, though.
How to communicate with PC to KT-300 Controller via RS-232 port. After setting entrapass software shows ""Connection Communication Failure"
Please give me suggestions- Need to KANTECH USB to RS-232 converter or different brand converter can work?
Hello, I strongly recommend using the USB-485 adaptor instead of RS-232.
@@kantechsupport6044 I want to use Kantech USB-485 converter and using Kantech Special Edition Demo software.
It's working properly? or need to change software!
@@kabirmutahakm3056 Yes, the USB-485 works perfectly with all edition of EntraPass, even the Demo version. However, you will be limited to 1 controller and 10 cards.
@@kantechsupport6044 Sir, I am not using Kantech converter
using local brand HXAD RS485 to RS232 converter and controller RS485 TX/RX led is blinking but when try to connect entrapass special edition demo software, shows- "connection communication failure"
Whats the problems?
KT-300 controller not support any local converter?
support only KANTECH converter?
@@kabirmutahakm3056 Unfortunately, as this is not our converter, it is not possible to know what the issue actually is. We can only offer support on our own equipment. With our converter, with that message, I would tell you to factory default the controller to get communication going.
What should we do if the telnet fails and there is no antivirus and firewall is down ?
Hello,
In this case, the only logical explanation is that it is the wrong IP that is being tested or there is nothing listening to the port. Remember, to always telnet towards the Server. The controllers will never answer a telnet request
Hi KT400 after restart the controller
Reset the IP and can not communicate with server
How can I change the IP address of controller now
If the controller's IP resets after a reboot, jumpers JP2 and JP3 are probably not back on the controller. Both jumpers must be on the controller otherwise it defaults the controller.
Great help! Answer to our issues was at 5:05; our management system was running DHCP and changed after a power failure, but the old IP was hard coded in.
