By far the best Civ 5 guides on the internet! Your understanding of the meta is impressively detailed and accurate and applicable to higher difficulties than any other guide. Your older videos took me from King difficulty to winning on Immortal most of the time. Great to see the early game guide refreshed.

One of the few good things about extremely early war is that if you somehow wipe out an AI before meeting any other civs, you don't have to worry about warmonger penalties. Unfortunately, Polynesia usually appears in my games to mess this up.

Somehow I started playing Civ 5 again after years of dust collecting. I was never suuuper good. Usually played casually on Level 3. Yesterday I easily beat Level 4 with your guide. I'll take a stab at Level 5 next and judging at my last gameplays it should be totally doable. Appreciate your commitment to the game. Wonder if Civ 7 will cause less interest for Civ 5.... I've only really been able to make liberty work a couple times on standard size maps. One such time was when I found the "Fountain of Skill" right next to my capital as Spain. +20 Global Happiness from a natural wonder (and 2 for just discovering it) really just let me put cities anywhere I wanted for the rest of the game.

I play continents and usually find 1 scout is enough at the start. Also I build only 1 settler if the space is uncontested, but make sure to get one not too late - since the harder AIs somehow know how to piss you off by settling close to you.

I find it funny that the Huns start with horses revealed on the map, even though they don't need them for their unique units.

I used to think Deity wasn’t possible and couldn’t get past King difficulty. Picked up Civ again for the first time in years and watched these videos (Most of them multiple times). Just won my first Deity game today! 🎉(Poland, Science Victory, Turn 311 Standard) Thank you PC J Law!

My god, this horrible music in the background. Why? Just why? Omfg.

Fuck that is bad, It's a cool concept but humankind kinda showed how it took away the roleplaying aspect if you can't represent the roman empire throughout the entirity of the game. They could balance this by making it so that it does not penelize you for keeping your original civ. In humankind you can keep the same civ but it penelizes you because changing civ midgame is much more rewarding which is sad so you can't play as rome for the entire game.

German banking is garbage. I pay for the premium checking account at my German bank just to get all the same features I would get with a basic checking account with Wells Fargo. UK might be different but definitely not Germany

This video in particular helped me beat Deity (after many tries!) I paid people to war on each other and kind of rushed science to gain new eras to make the earlier ages cheaper. But, this guide was what brought it all together. So cheers from USA

Jesus fucking christ, i just started a game on diety and in 30 turns, both my neighbours have already declared war on me and annexed both my cities

It sould be great to replay this up to the same turn peacefully, and see how the two empires compare.

I gotta admit, it was kinda funny seeing all the missionaries roll in during the war, especially following the early disappointment after spending so much effort at the start to settle near Sinai! Good to see that it all worked out in the end though.

If you settled closer to Egypt you had the opportunity to contest both whale slots

I'm curious as to why you suggest opening Pottery over AH when you generally don't plan on building anything from it: you might as well reveal horses faster. Sure, if you wanna rush a Shrine (like in this one) fine, otherwise it doesn't make much sense to me, and the default should be AH first.

noooo it was painful to see you take great works in your own land instead of building landmarks. With hotels and airports that's massive amount of tourism that was lost per landmark. national visiting centre bumps it up to about 40 base tourism per landmark which with all the bonuses means about 120 tourism per landmark lategame. Ofc you still won and did it three times faster than I ever could but still just wanted to point it out :p
