Good video, but for those with serious addictions, it’s certainly not this simple. Everything you bring up should be your start and something you continue to work on throughout your life. But the problem with serious addictions is that people can do all these things, and STILL struggle. If anyone is still struggling, I would suggest you look up videos by Father Sean Kilcawley. I would also suggest the 12 Step model coming from Alcoholics Anonymous, although it can be applied to most addictions. Although not explicitly Christian / Catholic, the 12 Steps came out of Christian / Catholic teachings.

This video is excellent. But it suggests invincible ignorance can save people,. An invincibly ignorant person can still sin mortally. If invincible ignorance could have anyone, you could argue for something like the religious indifferent Blessed Pope Pius IX condemned in his Syllabus of Errors, That heresy says everyone has a God-given right to practice any religion human reason recommends to him. So, Pope John Paul II's Assisi meetings should have shocked Catholics when he invited pagans to pray at those events. Besides, invincible ignorance is hard to plead today when you can learn Catholic doctrine online, from books, and other sources. Our friend did a fine job. But maybe sh eeds to add more detail in another video. After all, if most people are invincibly ignorant, why evangelize them when they're already on their way to heaven because of what they don't know. How charitable are Catholics if they commit the sin of presumption by knowingly assuming that invincible ignorance will get people to heavean. An otherwise excellent episode seems to end with a heresy.

As a Protestant, I've been looking at both the Catholic Church and Orthodox Church. Trying to figure out how in the world we got to the point of having so many different churches. Please pray for me.

I was nearly dead 6 years ago in a 2 week medically supervised detox from opioids, benzodiazepines, alcohol . It was a horrible detox cause I had used these excessively for about 30-35 years. The longer you are in an addiction the harder it gets to overcome it. I tried 3 times, so don’t give up. Do it in a program that includes you Savior. My initial program didn’t but that was ok cause I needed to detox first. I’m still a mess but much less of a mess than I was 6 years ago. Remember that Jesus is your Master Physician and Creator. He knows you the best.

Then ask the Blessed MARY to make a heaven for your soul while you are at It!!

Excellent breakdown. I’ve noticed (as a former Protestant, newish Catholic) that our Protestants seem to give great credit to the Apostles but after that no credits CNA be given to any other Saint (I.e. Mary, the Angels, etc.). I told my sister (she’s Protestant) one time that she doesn’t have to pray to the saints but she’s not taking advantage of the large family/church that we are. The Church is so vast and beautiful, it’s sad that many limit their understanding to what man can only physically see. For example, Protestants I’ve noticed only take advantage of prayers of living humans, even though there is crowd in the heavens willing to help in that prayer and intercession too.

Great video . A point for thought : as a former alcohol addict i see many asleep to this addiction in the church today . I see many in congregations desperately consuming a cigarette just before and after mass. Then talking obsessively about alcohol , however claim its just a harmless " moderate " useage. I sugest if you need a drink daily , however small, you are addicted. Its also off putting to newcomers to the church , particularly those suffering alcohol issues when they are offered alcohol after mass , its just not wise or prudent at all . Anyhow , just my view.

I’m attending RCIA in January. I’m spiritually homeless as a Protestant. My family doesn’t understand how I feel. They think, “the music’s message is praising Jesus”, or,” Catholics are too judgmental”. I don’t go to church for a rock concert. I don’t go to church for someone to tell me how to make the Bible more mainstream with the world. Church is for the word of god alone. It’s not trendy, it’s not supposed to be changing to meet new trends. We have had the Bible for centuries and yet these Protestant denoms claim that we must go by scripture alone, that we have a personal connection alone. I always felt the whole”personal connection” point was bull. To me it sounds more transactional. Basically, I believe in you, therefore I can just sin all the time cause I know you’ll forgive me. What a terrible life to live. And then to claim scripture alone but then ignore scripture or just say it doesn’t mean anything when it “offends someone” or when it doesn’t meet the “moral standard” of the modern world. It disgusts me. I was lost for a long time. An atheist once upon a time and a cynical Protestant. It’s about time I came home.

The apostle called the Romsn church the great harlot in Rdv. 17. Either you leave her or you too will share in her judgment. There is no salvation in any church, little less the pagan Roman church. Salvation is fould directly in Christ alone.
