Hi! I'm a non-practicing Christain, was christened as a baby, my dad is Lutheran but my mom Baptist, (the ultimate clash of protestants). I go to Church with my family on Christmas and Easter only but as a young teenager I read my Bible daily and did Bible studies with my grandmother who is Baptist, who taught me that Lutheranism is wrong, and that "everything is symbolic" so my christening didn't count to put it plainly. I'm only 17 years old btw. Anyways recently I've been researching Catholicism and learned so much about it and am frankly starting to believe it, I tried praying the rosary for the first time, but it was much longer than I thought ha-ha! Learning about Mary has been really sweet, I always wanted to know more about her, but she was always portrayed as "just a girl". So last night I saw a shooting star, and every time I see a shooting star, I'm usually waiting on an answer from the Lord, so I asked the Lord "if Catholicism is real, show me another shooting star" I waited a bit, and there it was, about a minute later. Of course, I immediately doubted it, but this video reminded me of it. Every time I've asked the Lord to answer me with a shooting star, which I have done many times, I never received anything. Yet last night I did, seems like it's sign for sure. I just wanted to share that.
There is actually a catholic prophecy concerning this event . I can't pin piont where I read it from . Mary is said something about mass conversion of Protestants before the end times. I believe Jesus is preparing the remnant church
My husband and I reverted/converted to Catholicism this Pentecost at ages 50 and 54! My husbands Dad is a Pastor of a small Protestant country church and after he retires I don’t think this church will go on. It’s a signal to me that the tide is changing. My son is entering the Catholic Church as well as my husbands brother who is a life long born and raised Protestant 🙏🙏
@RitaGatton Many, many, many times, feelings of sadness and depression are the door to repentance, conversion to the True Faith and Heaven. It's up to us in humility. Depression appears but is not Hell, but pride will get you there fast.
@tony1685 As you know, the Bible was compiled by Catholic bishops, with papal approval, at the Councils of Hippo and of Carthage in the late 300s/early 400s. They decided which texts were canonical and which texts should be excluded from the New Testament; the bishops used the Septuagint for the Old Testament. So, without the Catholic Church, you have no Bible.
@tony1685 Hi Tony, me again heh heh. Now, according to what I read in the Scriptures, Jesus warned that there would be many false prophets that would come in his name and not to be deceived by them, did he not? Now tony, the only question i have for you is; Will you renounce Ellen G. White ? You know what you gotta do now tony, you gotta keep that saaaaame energy. Make it make sense.

I felt completely spiritually homeless when I was protestant. Now that I am Catholic, I feel like I can step into any parish and feel like I’m visiting with His family.
Left the Church in college, went thru mainline denoms, pentacostal, and non-denom megachurches. It took me a long time to realize that my interest in secular history could be applied to church history, and slowly started to read my way back. What really sped this process up was meeting and coming to understand who the Christians I met in two deployments to northern Iraq. I met Chaldean and Assyrian Christians living in Mosul and the towns Nineveh Plain (Tal Keyf, Al Qosh, Qara Qosh, others) and realized that their churches had bishops, liturgies, sacraments, and an immense love for Jesus, for which they were enduring unspeakable horrors. Realizing that their churches were founded by Apostles (St. Thomas particularly) was the final breakthrough. Also after leaving the military getting to know Catholics in my community who clearly loved Jesus helped a ton too.
My Catholic faith was strengthened by getting to know Polish Catholics who were suffering from their faith under Communism and were standing up to it with great courage.

I was baptized Catholic became addicted to drugs, and then the Protestants got a hold of me. Today I'm finally back to Catholism and at peace. My experience with protestantism felt like I was groping in the dark. Just look at the aesthetics at a Catholic church and compare the two. Most protestant churches look like a place of business. A Catholic church looks like a place of worship.
Catholic churches are a place of worship because of the presence of Jesus in the blessed sacrament. When you see the lighted lamp at the altar or on the side, you know he's there in the tabernacle. He's been waiting for us for 2,000 years.❤😊

Pretty stupid remark, not gonna lie. Aesthetics have absolutely nothing to do with truth. If you can’t appreciate simplicity then you haven’t understood the Gospel and there are many Catholic Saints who agree with that

left my nondenominational church and became an atheist. the church fathers, especially st. Ignatius of Antioch's letters on the Eucharist, brought me to the Catholic church.
I was baptized an Eastern Orthodox but my family never practiced it so my knowledge and belief in God was very minimal. When i was first saved about 9 or 10 months ago majority of my influence/education was protestantism. Although I'm grateful for their help in my journey back to Christ, I quickly realized how often they spoke badly and hated on Catholicism and that really bothered me. Whenever I watched a UA-cam video of a pastor talking and then he randomly tells people "don't be like those evil Catholics" to the point where he tried to deliver people from "Catholic demons" I rolled my eyes so hard. Like you're supposed to be focused on God, not hating on other Christians. That's when I started doing research. Now I'm obsessed with the beauty, tradition and peace I see in Catholicism. That's the only thing I did enjoy in my EO background was the beautiful churches and the tradition. Now I'm hoping to one day do the RCIA since I'm in a foreign country and don't really speak the language to that degree that I can do it here. But I am excited to convert. Even my parents are supportive. Pray for me ♡
It's this: John 8 : 31-59 The sects are born out of disobedience. They cannot hear the beauty of the Catholic Church. They do not see the miracles within the Catholic Church, (they point to the true church): 1) Eucharist 2) Virgin Mary's tilma should have lasted 30-40 years... and it's many miraculous details. 3) During WW2 a group of German Catholic priests survived the bomb dropped in Hiroshima Japan. They were about 8 blocks away from the drop site! And they didn't even get radiation poisoning!!! All died of natural causes. 4) Incorruptible saints bodies: Padre Pio, Pope John Paul Ii, and many others -- I think the most recent one the First African-American saint ( correct me if I am wrong please). The truth of the matter is the prophets would have given signs that it was messages from God if true. NONE OF THE "REFORMERS", had any signs to break away from the Church. They didn't perform any miracles or received revelation of future events. So this is old plain disobedience... But people still followed them as prophets and gutted a lot of the doctrines... got rid of sacraments, got rid of books, came up with once saved always saved... and so many other ideas born out of Protestant men.... Need I go on? Jesus did not leave a menu of options... to which you can pick and choose what to believe. He left only one, holy, Catholic and apostolic Church.
Welcome Home, don’t be afraid, just have a consistent prayer life, read the Bible often & attend Mass ( Church service often even if you don’t understand much, you will plant a great seed in your spiritual journey) buy a prayer book online and google catechism of the Catholic church you should be able to get options to read as you await your classes.. 🙏❤️🔥✝️🕊️
For my experience, it was realizing how while those in this non-denominational wave might memorize scripture the depth of the theology was like a kiddie pool. Coming from becoming an atheist to coming back to christ i demanded more than a charismatic pastor and shallow theology.
True. Protestantism is very elementary. Catholicism is a doctorate. Always something more to discover. Amazingly, over the centuries, everything still ties up so well.
Interesting take. Lifelong Catholic but as an outside observer that was always my gut instinct as well when discussing the faith with non Catholics. Just struck me as "shallow" and not well thought through. Not a slight, just a personal observation. I appreciate and respect anyone trying to find God in their lives.
Well as someone in OCIA, I'd say I got tired of the rock concert and Ted talks. It's more like they put on a show for the crowd than worship God. I also don't like how many pastors and churches chase modernism. It's like shifting sand, empty and changes as as leaders please. I needed something fuller, not subject to the whims of man. Something solid and unchanging in this fast pased ever changing world.
There you go... I also saw that... A sing a long and a motivational talk.... Pretty soon the novelty wears off... Especially when the pastor always wants to be the star of the show 😂
Not all of them are becoming Roman Catholic. Many of the converts I see coming into the Eastern Orthodox Church are making the move for mostly the same reasons you mention. I would love to see, at the end of a great exodus of Protestants into the Catholic and Orthodox churches, a healing of the Great Schism. A true restoration of Christian unity.
I think most of the people going to Orthodox Church is because they have prejudice against Catholic Church, that they can´t admit they were wrong their entire life. It´s a kind of pride.
As a protestant turned Eastern Orthodox thru marriage to my Eastern European wife, I too have been dreaming of this exact scenario. There is then one more step: all of the world's non-Christians then join this one, reunited church, and then all of humanity will be a Catholic-Orthodox Christian.
Had the Rite of Acceptance a couple weeks ago including my daughter. It was a beautiful ceremony. I had been Protestant for 24 years, and my reasons for leaving are numerous. I'm very glad to be out of such a shallow and misguided "relationship" such as many modern Protestants claim.
Our Mass is not about us, it’s about honoring our Holy God, our Savior, the One who loves us, our Creator. It’s making an Offering, a Sacrifice. It’s worshipping our True Holy God who deserves all the honor and the glory. In Protestant service (because I used to attend one), it is like a concert. It’s about singing and listening to the lyrics as prayer. It is raising our arms in front of the performers of the music who are in the stage. The Lamb of God, the Immanuel, the true Flesh and Blood, the Bread of Life is not there. There is no holy Altar, where the Ark of the Covenant and the true presence of our Lord, is not there in Protestant service. I can sense from the performers of Protestant service that it’s about them, putting up a good show. Sorry, but this is how I observed and seen it.
I was raised Catholic, but had a weak understanding of my faith so I went non-denominational for awhile because I believed all the arguments against the Church. After a few years, I became on fire for Jesus in a way I never had before. It, along with the Holy Spirit, all led me back to the Church where I could go deep. Deep into early Christians, deep into church history, deep into Saints, and even deep into Mary and through it all I felt like I was growing deeper in relationship with Christ in a way that Protestantism just didn’t provide. It was like putting all the pieces together. The final domino for me was reading the Catechism for myself and understanding what the Church actually teaches versus what non-Catholics portray her to be teaching. I still love all my Protestant brothers and sisters in Christ, and fully believe I’ll see them on the other side of the veil one day, but man is Protestantism a little like keeping the baby and throwing out a bath water that’s full of context and richness.

The Catholic Church preserved, compiled, translated, chose the books to include and declared the Bible canon in 382 under Pope Damasus at the Council of Rome. Jesus didn’t leave us a Bible but He did leave us a church (Matthew 16:18). Every Catholic essentially reads the entire bible (OT & NT) every 5yrs at Sunday Mass. ”Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.” -2 Thessalonians 2:15 NAB ”Wherever the bishop shall appear, there, let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the *Catholic Church.* “ (Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Chapter 8) -St. Ignatius of Antioch, 107 AD St. Ignatius of Antioch was a disciple of St. John the Apostle and was installed as the 3rd Catholic Bishop of Antioch by St. Peter the Apostle (most likely) after the 2nd Bishop Evodius died. Evodius was the person who coined the term “Christian.” Traditon says Ignatius was one of the children Jesus Blessed in scripture.
In the third apparition of Fatima, on July 13, 1917, after vividly depicting the horrifying events of the 20th century to the children, Our Lady promised: "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph."
After becoming Christian, I spent time in a number of prot denominations, mostly in the reformed and Lutheran world and even got a theology degree at a prot college. I ended up leaving protestantism for the Catholic Church in 2014. The main reason for converting was I saw theological and historical inconsistencies within the prot paradigm and the Catholic paradigm imo was better able to make sense of the historical and theological and biblical data.
I left the church in my early 20s. I started attending a Protestant church and I learned about God and His word. I’m fifty and God is calling me back to the Catholic church . Catholics are the only ones who are really standing for God’s words, way and Holy Spirit. I’m not starving I’m following His Spirit. I have told Gcd that I will follow Him wherever He takes me and He’s taking me back to the Catholic Church.
That's not happening here in the UK. I also believe a lot of catholics weren't impressed with pope Francis's comments recently that he thinks all religions lead to the same God.
True! In addition to now being able to read the early Church Fathers, there is so much literature on just about every denomination including Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, so that people can compare all the information - both pro and con - and find arrive at the Truth.
In the last days many will leave the faith prefferimg a form of godliness without its power. Catholicism rests on the persons works. True Christianity rests on Christ's work
Most of the propositions in this video are unrealistically narrow. They neglect taking eastern/Greek orthodox into consideration. God bless ALL my brothers and sisters in Christ. Praise God.
RCIA was one of the best experiences of my life. Every Wednesday night and my life changed…the story of WHY I converted is a good one. Let’s just say St. Jude had a hand in it.
One main reason I hear about protestant converting is that their church has gone woke. They want traditional teaching. Hopefully Pope Francis won’t mess this up, or people will start to join the Orthodox Church instead.
We Catholics will not leave our church due to errors that a pope might make. We will not leave the church that Our Lord established in Matthew 16:18-19. The main job of a pope is to protect the deposit of faith that the church received from the apostles and to hand it on unchanged to the next pope. Pope Francis is doing this successfully.
We are Catholic because it is the truth, not because we have good Priests. Popes and Bishops will come and go, but the Church that Christ founded will endure until the end of time.
That could be a reason for some, yes. But usually when that happens they break away and form a new different church or new denomination altogether. A lot have to take the step of not wanting to get involved in interdenominational considerations entirely and move to non-denom first.
The Holy Spirit will convert many Protestants . I cannot do that but I pray for my Protestant friend in Georgia everyday and say rosaries for his conversion. He is very intelligent and knows what the church teaches .
Come back, brothers and sisters, under the auspices of the cross, in the Catholic Church we are all equal regardless of all differences because there is room for everyone...
It's not Catholicism but loving the Eternal Father, Eternal Son-Jesus and the Holy Spirit (the TRIUNE GOD) in the Holy Eucharist and the Holy Sacraments. Also, being Catholic is to KNOW HISTORY, not just memorizing verses and being secular.
No any other church except Catholic Church can fit into the Church that Jesus established under the stewardship of Peter against which gates of hell shall never prevail
Here in Brazil every week we see testimonies of former pastors and lay people converting to the Church of Christ. I am also one of them, I was a Protestant for just over four years and today I am part of the Church of Christ. A sincere study of Church history, the Church Fathers, and the Scriptures shows us that the Church has always been Catholic. Christians have always believed in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, Christians have always venerated the Virgin Mary, the saints and relics, the first Christians venerated icons and images... Protestantism is not a return to early Christianity, but a new religion founded by a rebel named Martin Luther. What began with a Protestant "church" is now thousands of sects with their own doctrines and ancient heresies that had already been refuted by the Catholic Church.
I feel that more people are turning to Catholicism too. My only complaint at this time with our church is the pope we have at this time. He rewards bad behavior while punishing good especially with priests and cardinals. He is too liberal for our beliefs
I’m attending RCIA in January. I’m spiritually homeless as a Protestant. My family doesn’t understand how I feel. They think, “the music’s message is praising Jesus”, or,” Catholics are too judgmental”. I don’t go to church for a rock concert. I don’t go to church for someone to tell me how to make the Bible more mainstream with the world. Church is for the word of god alone. It’s not trendy, it’s not supposed to be changing to meet new trends. We have had the Bible for centuries and yet these Protestant denoms claim that we must go by scripture alone, that we have a personal connection alone. I always felt the whole”personal connection” point was bull. To me it sounds more transactional. Basically, I believe in you, therefore I can just sin all the time cause I know you’ll forgive me. What a terrible life to live. And then to claim scripture alone but then ignore scripture or just say it doesn’t mean anything when it “offends someone” or when it doesn’t meet the “moral standard” of the modern world. It disgusts me. I was lost for a long time. An atheist once upon a time and a cynical Protestant. It’s about time I came home.
I’m a protestant. In the United States in the twenty-first century, there aren’t many people who have a working definition of the word, “protestant” so let me officer mine. (Please feel free to disagree with it.) A protestant is someone who has adopted some reforms based on the Bible instead of tradition and who is looking for additional reforms based on the Bible instead of tradition. John Robinson’s farewell speech to the Pilgrims who were about to embark on the Mayflower doesn’t include the word, “protestant” but he articulated the principle that is the basis of my definition. (You can find that speech on the Internet.) I consider the biblical definition of “conversion” to be the miracle whereby a person’s trust is transferred from what he thought he could do to save himself from sin or its consequences - so I don’t refer to a person’s change of denominational affiliation as conversion. I’m not opposed to church organization but I consider the true church (consistent with biblical usage of the word) to consist of all those who are learning to trust the Lord. In the sixteenth century, protestants encouraged people to trust the Lord for justification. In the late sixteenth century baptists defined baptism as immersion. In the eighteenth century, methodists encouraged people to trust the Lord for sanctification. In the nineteenth century, adventists encouraged people to trust the Lord for glorification. A variety of organizations encourage people to trust the Lord for those things (and I’m glad they do) but it isn’t consistent with my understanding of the biblical concept of “church” to refer to an organization as “the church” or even as “a church”. Believers don’t “go to church”. We are the church. A believer who ceases to be a member of a religious organization hasn’t “left the church”. The church (as defined above) is the kingdom of grace so I don’t refer (and I never have referred) to a religious organization as God’s kingdom. I don’t promote (and I have never promoted) the philosophy proposed by Plato (late 5th and early 4th century B.C.) that humans are eternal - and eternally conscious - souls temporarily imprisoned in mortal bodies. P.S. I'd like to think I'd be willing to defend, with my life if necessary, your freedom to believe what you want and promote what you believe.
One of the best Catholics besides Franciscus, is Martin Luther. Like Jesus Christ was a Jew and not a Christian, Martin Luther was Catholic monk who opposed to corruption and to the business model: access to heaven through buying letters of indulgences. THOUGH during my studies of science of religions, being a Lutheran Christian and my Islam studies and its "lies" - and true heritage of aramaic monophysite Christian groups of the east who were against Nicäa and the Trinity - through reading the texts of Hans Küng, Franciscus, Augustinus, Ratzinger etc. I am thinking that schisms can´t be the solution. Extra ecclesiam nulla salus - and there can be only ONE body of Christ - katholon means UNIVERSAL - as source of sciences, founder of universities - despite of bad Popes - there had been great movements coming out of the verges of inbound Catholic opposition - these like most of the quoted big names had themselves been - were the true pacekeepers of that huge organization and oldest "company" of the world. Well - what we have to do to apply converting, becoming a Catholic?
It’s very tempting to make your own church so that you can have your own rules and have as much sex as you want with whoever you want. All the reformators were pretty quick with getting wives after. I can also mention that Henry VIII had 6 wives throughout his life.
What do you think is the main reason so many people are converting to Catholicism? Let me know in the comments!
Scripture with tradition, they are tired of week worship is my opinion
Can’t go halfway anymore without that sense that there is something missing!

you don't understand what the protest was/is all about, clearly.
@@tony1685 The protest was about believing that Luther should be Pope, and he as upset that other people disagreed with how he interpreted scripture.
How is the church of the false prophet Ellen G White going?

Still denying that Jesus meant what he aid about hell being eternal fire?
Conversion isn't between denominations - it's in the heart. NUT!

@@mrs.meowgi4879 Actually, the “Pillar and Foundation of Truth is the Church!” See 1 Timothy 3:15. Now you need to find that Church he’s speaking of. I’ll give you a hint, it’s the only Church founded by Jesus Christ for our Salvation, the Catholic Church!
God bless you :) Thank you for sharing!

There is actually a catholic prophecy concerning this event . I can't pin piont where I read it from . Mary is said something about mass conversion of Protestants before the end times.

I am a devout Catholic. But, I am still sad that your father's church may not continue after he retires. That must be very depressing for him.

Raised JW to Prot by default accident. Now becoming Catholic. Theres so much information; there is no excuse!
yet the Bible is ignored in it's most basic teachings. this abundance of 'information' is how they keep people confused.
@@tony1685 uh huh, and where did you get the Bible...

Like the "grouping in the dark" is a good reference...thanks for sharing.... Welcome home...❤
Catholic churches are a place of worship because of the presence of Jesus in the blessed sacrament. When you see the lighted lamp at the altar or on the side, you know he's there in the tabernacle. He's been waiting for us for 2,000 years.❤😊

The irony of the protestant pastors saying that the protestant reformation was when they could finally read the bible for themselves, and how it set them free from the claims of the catholic church; And now that protestants can easily read history and the church fathers for themselves instead of just hearing the pastors version of history they are leaving protestantism

I converted at the age of 16 and I’m 36 now. I created a new legacy for my family, my husband also plans to convert soon
Praise God :)
left my nondenominational church and became an atheist. the church fathers, especially st.

Welcome home ✝️🙏
It's this:
John 8 : 31-59
The sects are born out of disobedience. They cannot hear the beauty of the Catholic Church. They do not see the miracles within the Catholic Church, (they point to the true church):
1) Eucharist
2) Virgin Mary's tilma should have lasted 30-40 years... and it's many miraculous details.
May God bless you and guide you 🙏

For my experience, it was realizing how while those in this non-denominational wave might memorize scripture the depth of the theology was like a kiddie pool. Coming from becoming an atheist to coming back to christ i demanded more than a charismatic pastor and shallow theology.
Thats a really good explanation & exactly how I’ve been feeling recently.

I am one of them. Orthodoxy in Utah is growing fast. Thank the Lord for His perfect original Catholic Apostolic Church.
I think most of the people going to Orthodox Church is because they have prejudice against Catholic Church, that they can´t admit they were wrong their entire life. It´s a kind of pride.
Agree. I am Greek Orthodox to. There is no confusion with its Christ truth. 🙏🙏🙏
Welcom home to both of you!
Welcome Home

Thou art Peter upon this rock I will build my Church & the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
”Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.”
-2 Thessalonians 2:15 NAB
”Wherever the bishop shall appear, there, let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the *Catholic Church.* “ (Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Chapter 8) -St. Ignatius of Antioch, 107 AD
St.

Jesus built a church on the rock "Peter" the protestant believes he built a book..as wonderful and necessary as it is..Christ built a church!!

Only those who don’t know their faith can leave Catholic because of another.
@@RitaGatton isn’t Pope Francis causing confusion by blessing homosexual couples? And not being strict with those who support and promote abortion?

I need to get confirmed
Go to mass brother! Ask the priest And let the journey home begin! I’ll pray with saint mother for you!
In RCIA as a freshman in college. Raised by a Baptist Pastor and I'm out now.
(You can find that speech on the Internet.)
I consider the biblical definition of “conversion” to be the miracle whereby a person’s trust is transferred from what he thought he could do to save himself from sin or its consequences - so I don’t refer to a person’s change of denominational affiliation as conversion.
