Glyph of Volatility in your gathering tools gives you Volatile magic from ANY node you harvest with them, and volatile magic can be traded in for trophy shipments which can make you quite a bit of gold, in Living World Season 4 areas such as Dragonfall. A Trophy shipment's current average value is 2.38 gold to 2.62 gold (subject to market fluctuation) when you open and then sell the contents, while costing 1 gold and 250 Volatile Magic. So basically, these things add a money printer onto your gathering tools. The tradeoff is that you either have to spend real life money on getting some (Such as with the Pre-Order of Janthir Wilds) or you convert a ton of gold to gems to buy some gathering tools that come with selections when they're on sale. (Or just buy the glyphs from Trading Post, but this can be annoying if you don't have infinite tools and constantly have to move them around) The reason I say it's never a bad idea is that while there's a few nodes that are technically more money to use something like a Glyph of Bounty or other things (I honestly don't remember the deep research) but the Glyph of Volatility is universally so good, it's the easiest choice for someone who's not absolutely min-maxing gathering to make plenty of extra money for almost no more effort.

Yeah but unfortunately not even always then, In Janthir Syntri specifically. Because the entire Bloodstone crater area has multiple events that don't give you renown tokens and also dom't contribute to a heart. Still hoping they change this soon.

One thing I learned a while ago back when I played WoW is if I did EVERYTHING I wanted to do, I never had enough time - Between weekly mount runs, daily dungeons, BG's, Arenas, rep farming etc - Never enough time in the day. You gotta find the priorities you want to work on, focus on the daily stuff/grind you need for what you want the most - make sure to leave time for fun stuff - and once you finish up your priority grind you can slide a new thing in there. Trust me even with as much as I've done, I was an off and on GW2 player for most of my career so I could spend all day, every day working on things for months before I started to slow down on the amount of backlogged progress I could really do, and got to just strictly time gated stuff.

Just don't do it. I haven't been intentionally doing them since I started playing. I'm not playing a game to do stupid chores for an hour or more when an hour is all I have to play.

Just don't do them unless you feel like it, I don't... Or pick 1 - 2 things you don't mind doing/have fun with. Even though doing dailies may be the profitable and 'smart' thing to do, if it's just becoming a boring list of daily chores then it's not worth your time. Games are meant to be enjoyable, don't burn yourself out min-maxing every hour of play time for profit, that's what ends up making me not want to log in.

It's a pretty dang low chance. I've seen it proc a small handful of times, and have seen other reports of it working, but it can take quite a while. I'm really hoping they slightly buff it (or fix it if it's slightly broken). The main reason I do the full size node in town is because I have volatile stuff, not just for the small proc chance. This is one of those things that without a magic tool probably I would skip, at the current droprate of it.

I have the same problem, I think I've just missed so many compared to the others because especially in the northeast area of the map where it blends in very well.

Yeah, while the overall player base is quite pleasant to interact with, there's always exceptions. Some people just have no sense of awareness to reality, unfortunately.

This is in fact a certified oopsie daisy moment.

I mean, at a certain point with enough experience there's very few "new" mechanics in an MMO, right? Typically we've got a "Don't stand here" and "Stand Here" mechanic. Sometimes it's a "Stand here if you have X" mechanic, sometimes it's a "Don't stand here if you have X Mechanic". Sometimes you have a debuff you have to pass around (Which is always horrible, thanks Allaghan Rot in Vanilla FF14ARR). Especially since GW2 doesn't have true tank/healer/dps roles, there's no tank swapping mechanics, no tankbuster mechanics, etc etc. There's a few more typical ones I missed, but you get the jist. I definitely agree it's nice to have just a meta, without 15 minutes of pre-events baked in, so if you fail it's at least just the boss time. Launch week Soo-Won wasted so much of my time.

Yeah very much like Soo-Won early in EoD I feel like most of the failures I've run into were more likely than not avoidable if people's #1 objective was being upright and mobile. Obviously DPS matters here (Though I've now had a couple clears with several minutes left on the clock, so we're already doing better than early Soo Won) but your DPS is always going to be 0 when you're running back from a waypoint. My Warbanner has been getting plenty of work in at these events.

Celestial is best for open world.

I think this tends to happen with most new Meta events, and would argue it's less horrible for that than Soo Won ever was. People who are aiming to do the Meta are generally looking for an LFG group, and if they're not , then they're probably going to feel like it's a waste of time because they have few/no attempts on it and don't have a complete understanding of the mechanics most likely

@@syzxgamingx I had this issue with that meta too and the last one in Inner Nayos. I don't think it's good for metas to require this big level of coordination. It kind of defeats the purpose of having it be open world IMO. The expansion just came out and instead of people being excited to try the new content, it feels like there's this defeatist feeling and toxicity, the same thing happened when the scorpion boss in Inner Nayos was just failing constantly and Soo-Won. To me, it's not a fun experience for the majority as it is right now and I can only imagine once the next expansion comes out and the map kind of dies. I'm glad some enjoy it but I've just seen nothing but pessimism in the chat on that map.

@@noobs12332 Then you're lucky because when it dropped, for a while, it was a mess because people didn't know what to do, where to go, it's hard to actually see mechanics because the colors blend together. I'm sure there is no shortage of posts from people complaining about having to do the other event chains only to fail constantly. If it's better now, I can't say, but it's also not relevant now for the majority. I just think they can design metas to not be so punishing on the early impressions. It really kills hype to play when the vast majority of the time, no one even attempts the new meta. I think if they're gonna make open world events, the goal should be for people to hop into them if they happen to be on the map, if you need to use LFG to have a chance it kind of defeats the purpose IMO.

@@mismismism wht i learn from that, suwon-spider-umbreil : communication. For spider normally 2 sub squad, 2nd sub with 12-18 only for rift (better if have alac, quick and the most important heal) and 1st sub with the rest of ppl for meta just do dps, do buff every 2m depend build you have or just take support buff. The colour not issue at least for fight i join. I think bc ppl already learn about mechanic of boss

That's what the LFG system is for. Every time I see at least 2 almost full squads forming. Even more at prime time.

@@sohu86x well, I have seen players stop attempting these guys altogether. apparently there was a bug for this fight where if both bosses were in the spin phase at the same time then the bars would never break. because the timing is already so tight with this extra constraint it was collectively deemed impossible so people stopped trying..
