Guild Wars 2's one of the most important rules is to focus your build around Power damage or Condi damage and never to mix it ( 10:20 😱 and 11:14 🤣 )
    1. Sift Signet is the most important thing for Mechanist as it shares your boons with your Mech, it also recalls your mech to you and is the best movement 1200 range blink in the game.
    2. Rifle, Hammer, Rocket Turret, Rifle Turret are Power Weapons/Utility. Also Sword is great power weapon but Hammer has CC and Rifle is Range.
    3. Your Firearms and Mech traits are Condi Traits and Juggernaut specifically calls for Flamethrower and Thermal Vision requires you to burn enemies every 4 seconds to do more condi damge.
    4. Inventions is support trait line. I understand the use of the traits because you have turrets but you would do much more dmg with Explosives traits.
    5. Power and Condi builds use same Trait lines Firearms and Explosives. Heal builds use Alchemy and Inventions.
    6. We don't know if you run Berserker, Vipers or Celestial Stats on the background? Has huge difference on your build. Celestial would make most sense because how much you mix here.
Stop here if you don't want any help
I'm gonna give you an open world PvE build 👍
And this is just to give you chance to not read it.
For open World I would recommend the full celestial open world Condi build:
Spear (weapon) + Full Celestial (all stats) + Trapper Runes (condi stats) + Geomancy and Earth sigils (condi damage)
Utility Healing Turret (double click to use) + Sift Signet + Superconducting Signet + Elixir U (Self Boons!) + Overclock Signet
Traits Firearms 2-2-3 / Explosives 3-1-2 / Mech 2-2-1 this is gonna give you some great boons my friend.
    Set Commands on Auto-Cast
This build generated Alacrity and Self Qucikenss which makes the open world super fun on this build. It wont kill as fast but is durable as heck. You can run Heal Signet instead of Turret if you don't want to double click it constantly. You can also use Pistols if you want Range on this build tough they don't cleave well and you lose the Burning.
    Also about utility:
Grenade Kit is used in both condi and power builds.
    Bomb Kit is Condi kit.
Elixir Gun is used mainly on support skills but sword power build uses it for some reason.
Flamethrower Kit is used in condi builds as third kit set.
    Med Kit is for healers.
Rocket Turrret is best turret for Mechanist while Rifle Turret is better for Scrapper and Holosmith while Flamethrower Turret is used in Condi Builds, Supply Drop can be used for CC and additional turrest! and Healing Turret is used by some. I prefer AED and Heal Signet as well Med Kit.
Sift Signet shares boons, recalls your mech when used and is 1200 blink. In open world your build should self boon like Elixir U and Sift Signet shares them.
Force Signet is Power Trait and never used for its Knock Back.
Superconducting Signet is Condi Trait which is used for its damage and the DPS build uses J-Drive which keeps the passive on even when used!
Barrier Signet is for healers giving Barrier and Projectile Block and giving Barrier gives Alac on Heal Mech.
    Heal Signet is solid.
You can set Command on Auto-Cast
Throw Mine is CC and Boon Rip as well good Power DPS skill, almost as good as Power Kits.
Personal Battering Ram almost never used is good CC and Knock Back.
Rocket Boots is mobility ... I use it for Skip or when I travel long distance in no mount zones.

A really overlooked part of Shift Signet, and why it's Sneaky Good if you aren't reading carefully: "Boons you gain are copied to your mech.". Your Boons (so long as you run anything that gives you some) also being shifted over to your Mech makes it a true powerhouse. And the active being a Shadowstep for positioning a burst *and* a Condi Cleanse is just icing. It's actually, in my experience, *really* good in solo PvE. YMMV, of course.

    • @Stands-In-The-Fire

@@clowniefart There are so many things in GW2 with the abilities where it can take a few read-throughs to see how the lego pieces can be fit together. So, stuff like that can be really easy to overlook. And then you start wondering "why does everybody seem to be using this?"
But yeah, one thing that also goes overlooked is that it's a CC break, and it pulls you *and* your mech to the new location. So if your mech has wandered, it gets it back to you either for safety, positioning for ranged/melee, or just getting back in optimal stat-sharing range with it. The one signet affects so many things.

Love, love, LOVE this idea and the channel in general.
You've motivated me to get out of my comfort (and lazy) zone and attempt new builds, try to get the griffon etc.
As an alt-o-holic that struggles to decide which race-class combos I wanna play, let alone sticking to them, I think it's a good idea to force yourself to learn a class by playing it for a few weeks and in the process grow more attached to your character.

Scrapper to me is fantastic simply because I can play glass cannon gear with berserker's and still have good survivability because of the barrier from Impact Savant trait and swapping in Relic of Zakiros for that sweet 4% life steal on critical damage, I feel very comfortable going up against many champions.

My main is Engi Holosmith (I love that game of chicken) and my overlooked class is Elementalist- I finally gave it a shot after a decade of playing GW2 and it’s really fun! It’s just amazing to me how there’s aspects of this game I’ve barely scratched after all this time

  • @Bunstonious

My main squeeze is really Mechanist because I really enjoy the more chill playstyle and allows me to spend my time relaxing. I adore the theme and love the playstyle of Scrapper, but I do find that the quickness variant really takes some getting used to and can really be a challenge to keep it up. The Holosmith, while fun to play, always felt way too busy for my tastes and always had me playing it in short bursts.
Now with weaponmaster, we get some of the coolest weapons and skills in the game no matter what spec we play, yay (sword, hammer and mace are some of the most fun skills in the game imo, and the new spear skills are just "chefs kiss" for condi builds)!

Kits have always been my least favorite part of engineer, funny enough. I have started to come around to them a bit in recent times though, and I did have every intention of doing Core Engi with a kit focus, but just ran out of real life time this month to do it and make it meaningful for the video, so I scrapped it. I do however intend once these month long challenges are up, to do week-long ones to revisit certain ones I never really nailed down, Like doing Mechanist with some kits, or ones that I missed entirely like core engineer and some Guardian specs.

    Heya - scrapper main here!
I totally feel the lack of a rewarding elite skill for scrapper and missing flashy concept. The strength of scrappers open world to me is the ability to permanently maintain yourself with quickness, the single most damage increasing buff and on top get yourself a lot of superspeed which makes positioning and transitioning between mob groups very smooth and swift. To a point where I can hardly get myself to play something else open world because its just that fast :D Maybe look into those two points if you feel the itch to bonk some mobs with a big stick again! :D

Man, sounds like we have very similar feelings about the Engi specs! I really like the feel of scrapper and triggering tons of combo fields, but it’s tree does lend itself to be more of a support, and no real condi option. I keep it as an off-spec when I want to throw some brutal bolts around with hammer. And mechanist I felt just too distant from the action, too passive. But I love holo to death, and it’s concept is just so cool to boot. Just set me on fire and I’m happy I guess lol

Yeah, the visuals and general gameplay of Holosmith are so fun. I can't even really fully explain why, because every single other mechanic like it such as Specter's shadow form, Necro shrouds, and Dragon Trigger on Warrior I always used struggle to enjoy compared to my normal bar, but Holosmith was just so enjoyable. I'm curious if I'll enjoy necro shrouds more now that I actually successfully learned a 'transformation' and enjoyed it, or if that's just gonna stick with holo LOL

Now you have a hammer for your warrior! Seriously, it's my favorite warrior weapon.
I homebrewed my Mechanist build with Rampager's gear and went Firearms-2,2,1 Explosives-2,1,2 and Mechanist 2,2,1. Mech holds enemies in melee while I apply conditions that increase my crit chance and strike damage that increase condition duration and becomes a nasty loop for my enemies.
I run Superconducting Signet active, Rocket Turret as needed, and Force Signet for CC. Rifle 3 for Vuln and CC then 2, and 1 while everything cools down.
It's not quite braindead mode, but it is very disability friendly.
And I apologize, I am running off insomnia and too much caffeine.

It doesn't make too much sense using turrets with mechanists, because the mech is very mobile and you don't want to be stationary, considering most of your damage comes from the mech. My favorite is playing condi build with mech, with pistol/shield or pistol/pistol, elixir gun, elixir E I guess (the yellow one), superconducting and overclock signet. With the traits for mechanist, I always go full condi, close combat.

Rifle mechanist is objectively the best spec in the game (you can trust me on this one, I already play the game for a year!):
    1. Its easy to play. You have the rifle with cc (immobilize, knockback), movement and aoe. You cant weapon swap in combat (awesome) and you can choose mine (aoe, cc and boonstrip!) instead of a kit. Rest is signets, one of them is a teleport! You dont need 1k apm to play, you can focus on the fight, environment, npc talking etc.
    2. It has a pet. Its also the best pet spec (rip ranger). Your pet is tanky, deals constant significant dmg, if you go afk it protects you, its immune to some mechanich and you can send it in early like in Sunqua Peaks big fire aoe where you have to hide. Brilliant. Can give alacriy to melee while you run around.
    3. Its ranged! I cant emphasize enough how awesome that is. I really hate when I play a melee class that when random mobs start spawning or you have to move due to a mechanic you cant really do much while as a mechanist you just keep going! Pet can stay on target, you can continue dishing out damage, you are always useful no need to try to step out of an aoe the very last second and fail both on the evade and dps departments. Also, you are doing a meta event where tons of players are present? Easy tagging time! You just press autoattack and the game will target mobs in front of you. You are watching a movie or youtube on the 2nd monitor? Spam rifle 1 time!
Oh boy, not surprised they nerfed this spec since eod, else everyone would play just this one constantly.
