If Brompton wouldn't honour a rear triangle replacement for all the free PR on their product, then get a similar part brazed on and perhaps do a video on it. Then review "clones" that have become incrementally designed for the buyers' request and "feedback" in the Far East market.

Hi Brian, I have been dead set against getting a 16 inch bike & had decided to go with a 20 incher but after seeing the Vincita bags for Bromptons, I've had a change of mind. What an amazing well thought out set up they have, especially the Sightseer Travel Set. I'm probably still not going to buy a Brompton as I find their mechanicals archaic & outdated. I will probably buy one of the higher end clones such as the Cranston or Ruhm. Thailand trip coming up & Vincita is based out of Bangkok. :) Cheers,, Glen

Everything breaks. Eventually. Good to see the failure, sort-of-catastrophic as it was, allowed for a controlled stop and no injuries. Which is about about the most one can hope for in this case. Betcha that crack was propagating for a long time before you noticed it.

Great information & advice Brian. Reminds me of a recumbent trike I went to see advertised as excellent condition for $900. Turns out the trike had been left out in the rain, the frame, spokes nipples, nuts & bolts were all covered in rust. I told the Owner the most he would get for it is $300. & that only a collector or restorer would be interested in buying it. A year later it was still for sale but now down to $600.

Great video! i have some questions since i'm about to buy one: do you have an electric scooter? like a xiaomi one? do you think the breaking have same effect that breaking in a scooter? do you consider this a good bike to go and back from work, 10km away?

i don't want to be 'bucked off' the bike..due to them Powerful brakes...but with some more 'practice' can't you get 'used to them'?? my riding is 80% in the city! you're Scaring the heck out of me about the brakes!! ..but i do 'luv' the bike!! Cheers from Canada!

😆I have the same problem, don't wanna ride my CHPT3, it's a collector, my M6L has a switch kit fitted so I only have my P Line to thrash. There's worse problems to have though, right? I have to say, desperate for a 12 speed T Line at the moment, but lack of pennies and pounds. I need a pay rise! Happy Bromptoning and safe travels.

For me, these are classic well-done reviews. I'm 69 looking for a good value quality upright folding bike (my 30yr-old hybrid is too uncomfortable) and Zizzo looks like a good bet. I thought there'd be more used ones at good prices after the lockdown. It's nice to see Zizzo offers refurbished options with discounts vs new. Also, here you wish for disc brakes but there seems to be UA-cam controversy of discs vs calipers/vbrakes, with the latter being cheaper, more available, lower maintenance and lighter. I guess discs might be better for more experienced high-speed power bikers (like you). Anyway, thanks for all the videos full of real-world tips.

I'm ambivalent. CF doesn't tolerate incidental knocks and impacts well and these are what folders are regularly subjected to (especially when folded).

Bro, read between the lines. It's not covered under warranty but they *suggest you apply for the affiliate program which would put you in touch with marketing* -- you know, the group who could green light non-warranty repairs for, say, a UA-cam who helps the brand.

I just saw on UA-cam that Bromton is bringing out a 20" wheeled folder in 2025. Have you heard anything about that development?

Had Tourney on my folding bike and it was impossible to tune. Change to Altus with cost of less than 20 USD was brutal upgrade. It's sad, Tourney saved the manufacturer like what? 5 or 10 bucks?
