....and Bryan puts away a conventional bike rider like they were rode hard and put away wet. With injuries and some flexy bike issues! You are inspirational and accomplished.
I’ve done similar jobs many times as I do thousands of km on my Brompton. I reckon I go through a chain and rear cogs, new tyres, new brakes every year. Great to see that you’re back in the saddle. 😊
hey Brian, hope you are doing well. ordered my first folding bike after watching a lot of your videos. hope to get it on the road soon, your videos are helpful
My Brompton reliability: 2014 S2E - used to eat non-folding pedals because of the torque from riding what was basically a single speed, plus a headset as they were still steel on 2014 bikes. 2017 S6L/R - in 4 years of 8 miles per day; it had a main frame hinge pin, a rear hub (although that was my fault I think), bent seat post (was my fault as running an ultra hard Joseph Kousac suspension block), and a folding pedal. Usual chain/pads/etc annually 2021 S6E-X Chpt3 - nothing yet, but it only comes out on Sundays, Holidays, Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, etc 2022 M6L-Electric - two motors, one controller (it really is unreliable), but nothing mechanical in 500 miles
Hi Brian great video as always I have a couple of ebikes but I am thinking of getting a normal bike looking at the brompton c line explore. just for the convenience of travelling with it.
Melatonin for that acid reflux. Works great. Never would have thought I could wean myself off of 40 mg Omeprazole but it is a game changer. Thanks for the content!
As a Dane I bought a new Top "SuperlightM6LXBrompton" in 2019. At first "free" Service I had the shop change my crank to a titanium, ceramic crank, as I have also found a set of ceramic balls for my stem post/fork bearings, as also titanium bolts and a wedge to fix it. Also a full titanium axle in front. For now 9,35 kilo, with mudguards, but I expect to come below 9 kilo soon, with a little further changes of parts. And I like my 6 gears, compared to the only 4 of the absurdly prized T-line. Finn. Denmark
And I have a "chain catcher" on top in front! As I have a choice of a black titanium seat post, with an integrated ring-mount on top, also wasting the Original, or lighter mounts for the saddle! As also, some ordinary Brompton shaped, titanium, black seat posts in several length versions, as I'm a tall guy! The 600 mm longer (and a standard in Scandinavia, as we are generally tall people), doesn't fit my German B&W box for travels, so for now I just have a standard length, and too short, 535 mm, black titanium post on mine, for this purpose.
I like your videos and following all the fun stuff you are doing. I hope you are staying safe and sound and finding time to just chill out too. I am a Dahon Mu D 10 (20') wheel owner - 5 years - and like it a lot. I ride it maybe 1/2 as much as you overall and besides some odd tlc needed here and there, now and then, I must say it is a strong bike and good 53 tooth front gear is great! I did take a Brompton for a test ride recently and can't imagine using that instead of the Dahon as it seemed way too small and delicate. I have had what seems several times fewer maintenance issues as you are having but of course that is all subjective. Love your videos and WOW you are über talented! Most importantly...STAY SAFE and healthy! - Greg, Boston area
Hey Brian, I'm thinking of buying a Zizzo Forte '23 or a fake Brompton from Malaysia or Philippines.(Brompton doesn't make $500 version) 😅 What would you suggest?
Zizzo’s are nice, so are the Tern link a7’s. I don’t have much experience with the Mobot Royale but I hear they are a great budget Brompton alternative.
I don’t use my 2 speed Brompton much because I have to order all the proprietary parts, even though I haven’t had too many problems except ordering a new chain pusher.
Greetings Brian. Are we going to see you someday vlogging from a Ragbrai event? UA-cam lacks a folding bicycle perspective coverage of the event. Thanks
Brian - love the channel. Can you recommend any specific Ergon grips for the electric C line. I ride no further than 25 miles but the stock grips irritate my hands after a mile or so…. Thank you sir.
Regarding the plastic cupped Brompton bottom brackets, you will find ua-cam.com/video/h0cKKdm0smI/v-deo.html interesting as she ( a major UK Brompton dealer ) swaps it out for a metal cupped shimano BB-UN300. Even those are not as good quality as the old BB-UN55 which are not made anymore but lasted ages. Today I would consider using an aluminum cupped Neco 119 x 68mm sealed cartridge BB. For removal you can use the crank bolt and a washer(s) to stop the tool slipping by keeping it pressed onto the BB cups.
I own an older Brompton B75 that has been nickel and dime me; bought a Litepro clone for $500. Bromptons are great when they are new; but when they getting aged, parts are prohitbitive expensive.
In my country the dutch all the people bring it to shop en get big bills , iam also the man that do evrything myself love your videos i got a zundapp folding bike its german
Another great video Brian. You should wearing much lighter colored clothes during the summer. All that black clothing just brings more heat on you than you need. Have fun. Stay safe and hydrated.
@@ibikeunfolded Uhuh, I guess the way it works is you do the repair while filming youself and then you edit the video and then you upload it and then I see it days later. By then I am screaming into the abyss with no one to hear me!
Hi! Thanks Brian, I bought a used Dahon Eco C6, everything seemed ok, but recently the seatpost it is going down gradually during riding, it doesnt matter how tight the clamp is. How could I fix that problem? Thanks :)
It may just be grease on the post. If that's the case it won't be noticeable. Often it's finger grease just from handling the post. The cure is to clean the post with alcohol or a similar de-greaser, then re-install, being very careful to avoid touching the post with bare fingers. Hopefully that solves the issue.
This Friday of yours is not a very good representation for that company. Sheeze! Crash, chain, steering, not exactly a prime company to have confidence in.
I can't believe that you did the video recommending that people try these bikes for touring. Based on your videos, these bikes are not very durable at all...at least not nearly as durable as full sized bikes. After watching your video about the touring, I really thought about getting one to just try in my community...but after watching more of your videos...NOPE...not interested as they seem to be kind low end bikes.
If anyone knows the name of the video that shows a man riding a scooter with a little girl on his shoulders and another girl in front of him, please post the video name as a reply to this comment. This is going into my list of things you should not do.

Thank you, I appreciate you! I see to climb those hills like a beast when my leg was normal…😉
hi Brian, when will you update the video?
So good to see you back on the Brompton man - it’s the best folding bike out there .
great Vid, Pedals! I use mks quick reliease "hold fast " to keep the foot in the ideal position. Coudn't live without them, total game changer.
Nice
Nice video…like how you do all your repairs. Glad the Brompton is up and running good.

Been a while since you last posted Bryan - hope all is OK and you're just busy.
I really ❤the maintenance tutorials. I’ve learned so much from watching your channel. Keep up the great work! From Canada

Nice work Brian. Colorado provides some really nice bike infrastructure, keeps the bikes away from traffic, that's really nice.

love your videos. Well done and keep it up. I know how much hard work they are. What do you think the solution is to chain? Have you spoken to BF yet?
Thanks. I haven’t spoken about the bike Friday yet. But I have several videos I am making so I will answer questions in a video on those very topics.
Disc brakes on that Brompton???
I must have them on mine too!!!!

i love your videos bryan
Do the Brompton chains need to be stripped and relubed like most bike chains?
Well the new chain came lubed, but yes I normally I clean the chain with my chain cleaning tool and re-lube.

Basic. Wow. Pretty cool engineering.
Great vid Brian as per usual. What happened to the telescopic seat post ?
nice work man 👍 how much did you pay for the spare parts in sum?
I’m thinking it was about 140ish. If I remember right.

I'm assuming you didn't take the turnpike...
I took the 36 bike path- I think.
I was screaming at you to put the rear wheel on the other way! Didn't you hear me? No, you're just an absent-minded genius!
Thank you…I knew someone out there was yelling at me - even if I couldn’t hear it.😜

Is your Brompton a 5 speed ? I'm guessing 3 internal gear, 2 external gear. LOL I'm the same way working on my bikes.
3 internal gears and two external (+ and - ) so you have a +or a - for each of the 3 internal gears (hub gears) which makes 6 gears in total.
@@trigs1441 Ah makes sense.
I'll be interested in how you fix your slipping seat post, as I have a similar problem on my foldable. As always, enjoy your video.
