Great advice about gear - really helpful as a beginning bike packer. I particularly appreciated your honesty about your IBS and the importance of a reasonable solution for human waste - as you said, nobody talks about this, so I appreciate your honest take on the subject.
You are a real character. I laughed at some of your statements. Overall I enjoy your content and appreciate the honesty. I have had a Brompton for 12 years, strictly road use though. And yes they are a superb bike. I am after al 80 now. Any keep it up. Jon
Another great vid, really appreciate you mentioning the toilet . Took me years to get the right set up when camping! No one ever mentioned it on their vlogs
Hello, will you try the new Brompton G line? I has 20 in wheels. I just got my T line after saving all these years. I will get my G line but in a couple of years. Greetings.
Very impressive that you are riding the Colorado trail on that bike, with that gearing 💪💪. Holy rollers are a great trail tire in my opinion. Have a blast 🤘
The solar items you have are very cool. I am going to look into getting those. And the portable toilet is a good idea, I had not considered that as an option. Looking forward to your trip report videos
@@ibikeunfolded I now have 2 Bike Fridays, a NWT and an All-Packa. My motto is go slow, since I'm an old fart with fragile bones. So far nothing has come loose on my bikes or my body. Looks like you are well prepared to keep the front end nice and tight. I'll be most curious to see how your trip went. I do hike-a-bike fairly often, like anything steep, so you're not alone there. I love these folding bikes, and would buy a Brompton for riding around town if I lived in a flatter area. They don't have low enough gearing for the hills in my neighborhood. I got a 2x9 drive train on my All-Packa and the low gears are great. Best wishes for a wonderful trip. Keep a tight hold on those sunglasses this time!
I love your videos, but you always bring so much stuff. I'd go crazy hauling that and you say you always bring things you don't need. A very compact trailer would be so much easier. Especially getting rid of the backpack. I'll keep watching. Have fun! 🙏
Great information. I need to get one of those packa-potties! If you can, please post a link or tell us the name brand of that potty. Thanks for sharing this and have a wonderful trip.
@@ibikeunfolded I have looked at some of these online, and most seem to be too large for bikepacking. I'll keep looking around for a small one like yours. Looks like a great knee saver for those of us with aged arthritic knees. Using those biodegradable bags looks like a good idea too. We have some wag bags that we use on float trips, but they need to be packed out, so not so good for bikepacking or backpacking.
Been a fan of Xeroshoes for a while myself -- I rode Ragbrai in their HFS shoes, but they didn't wick moisture like the pair you showed, and it resulted in gross waterlogged feet by the end. I also have those water-friendly shoes, but the tread pattern catches on my pedals. ...I might have to go hit up their suggestion box for flatter-tread Aqua X Sports.
The ones I got are great on the trail and not so great walking on the sidewalk. The reason why I got them is because they will dry a little faster than average trail shoes. Thanks for watching👍😁
@@ibikeunfolded stupid auto dictation, I meant to say "for" touring, not "four" touring 😵💫🥴 I definitely would struggle up hills with that large ring, my knees hurt thinking about it. 😉
38T is the minimum for a 130 BCD. At least it's made of 7075-T6 as seen at 1:49 and the hole pattern is symmetrical. 7075-T6 is stonger and harder than standard 6061 chainring alloy , especially if heat treated. Looks like the Litepro crankset is square taper which is perfectly fine , especially for a single front chainring and 9 speeds. On the liteprobicycle site it looks like the chainrings are integrated with the chain guard. A 110 BCD crankset would have been better as you can put a 33T on those. Currently I can't find an option on the bikefriday site for cranksets ? The Diamond Llama is not a cheap bike either at > 2000 USD and there seems to be options for many other things.
@@ibikeunfolded Thanks for replying. Just another question. Do you own all those folding bikes? I saw you ride a lot of folding bikes. With that money I would have bought a Brompton T line. I already have a P line and I want to the T line. But I also want the Bike Friday Diamond Llama. I think it is a small wheel addiction.
@@caligulaemperadorful yes, I own all the folding bikes I showcase on my channel. I’ve had no desire to get a T line otherwise I’d own one and yes, I have that same small wheel addiction 😁👍
At 0:52 Your Bike Friday may not be adequate for riding the Colorado Trail but I'm not worried. You'll fly over those mountains faster than Remco Evenpoel's Paris 2024 Olympic Gold Medal road race win. Heck, I bet the IOC President will snatch that Gold Medal from around Remco's neck and give it you instead. You are the very best so you deserve the very best... don't you think?
I think everyone deserves the very best, however many don’t get it. I’m not special, i am just an idiot online doing stupid stuff. I thank you for watching though😁👍
That is odd. Both of my Bike Fridays came with the tools to keep the front end tight. You might email Bike Friday and see if they can send you one. I'm jealous you have a rohloff.

Thank you, I appreciate your kind words.. yes, I ordered another Brommie which I will use to continue to make Brompton content.
Hello from the UK, just spotted this, really late here so I'll watch the full vlog in the morning. Have a good trip.
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to watch👍😁
Just seen the new Brompton G line! I want, I want badly! Great vlog by the way.
Didn't see your post until after I posted! Too excited!

Looking forward to following you on this adventure. I have an older pocket Llama and have thought about bike packing with it.
Looking forward to posting videos and pictures to instagram… thanks for following the journey- have fun bike packing on your bike friday. 👍😁
Awesome! Love gear lists
They can be helpful…. I’ve watched a fair number of list and of course I had to make my own unique specially tailored one for me.

Have you ever tried a Solorock folding bike? I can't find much info on them.
Good system and preparedness. This is pretty interesting. Anxious to see the ride.

Thanks for the elaborate video, looking to do a bikepacking tour in the near future aswell ! also helpful for my longer runs!
Did you already fix the issue with bike friday that caused your injury?
No, it still has the problem…. This is why I have to watch the speed on the rougher technical terrain.😬

Safe travels! It’s great to see your load out. Do an after action review on what worked and what didn’t need or wish you would have packed.
What name/brand of the toilet? Can't find it on Amazon.
BTW: Thanks for sharing all this. Its helping me figure out my own loadout.
Cool setup!🎉
Thank you😁
Considered a smaller chainring for the trip?
Yes, but this bike has a weird bolt pattern and I couldn’t get a smaller chain ring shipped in time. We will make it work though.

Hey Brian. What is the weight of just your stand-alone Bike Friday?
I will follow you FOR SURE ! I wish to do folding bike back packing too ⛺️ (Brompton). You are one of my mentor 😊
What are your thoughts about the new G Line Brompton?
I looked at a brompton and thought it was never worth the price . You have a great channel
Cool gear, especially inflatable light
I love that light…. 👍😁
Looks like a great adventure. When Ryan Van Duzen rode it, by the end he wished he had taken along extra disc brake pads.

There are many makes and models on Amazon to choose from. I checked and the one I have has been discontinued. I bought it almost 4 years ago.

Can you change the front ring to a smaller one? I’ve seen someone put a 39 on a Brompton six speed four touring.

Haven't you eventually tried a Moulton? They should be very stable and fast.

All-up non-bike weight of kit?
I haven’t done an official measurement but I’d say about 50-60 points of gear would be close to accurate.

What is the best way to profit from the digital market?
My advice is to get a professional who will help you, plan and enhance your management skills
That won't bother you if you trade with Felix Hartmann
I heard that his strategies are really good
