Hi, and welcome to my channel! I originally started out back in '09 to share game-play videos of DOOM 3, though never finished. I plan to someday. I collect hard drives, coins, and a lot of old and cool computer stuff.

Received this from a friend a while ago, it is used for backups being so new.
Cities: Skylines - Watching a citizen travel through this region.

Just a random video, this city always has something to fix, upgrade, repair, or demolish. Recommend this game to anyone. 28.7GB of RAM is used of my 32GB btw. This game loves RAM especially with a metropolis like this.
3 Drives in one!

HGST Ultrastar 146Z10 (IC35L036UCDY1-0) Fujitsu Mobile 6 (MHE2064AT) Western Digital Tidbit (AH280-00) Mobile 6 went through a successful PCB replacement. It did absolutely nothing when I got it.
Toshiba (MQ02ABD100H)

A nearly silent drive. A bit boring, but compare to the previous Toshiba drive.
Toshiba (MK438FB)

I bought this expecting it not to work. Not only does it work but it works flawlessly being from October of 1992 and made in the USA!

This drive will be used for daily backups, came out of a retail box still sealed, 3 hours of use I put on it so far. Let's hope it holds up.
Happy birthday Maxtor 7000!

Not every day you come across a fully functional 30 year old hard drive. Owned it since it was 23.
Western Digital Performer (WD800AW-00DDK1)

At 5400RPM and it sounds so nice! 9 reallocations but stable.

How can i capy data from this drive?
Hey there, I saw your comment on a video I made and decided to check out your channel and I just gotta say I'm glad I did. I think you have a great collection of hard drives. Id like to collect them like you at some point. I now know why you were disappointed that I swapped out a hard drive for an ssd though lol. Anyway thats all.
Ah, no worries. Wasn't trying to be disrespectful or anything, keep up the videos! I just saw your latest about the vacuum.
Thank you. Great video and much effort! Am only 20 min in-good memories are percolating. In 1986, my first HDD was a 5.25 in, half-height, ST506/MFM, the excellent 40MB Miniscribe 3053, 3 platters, 5 data and 1 dedicated servo surface, neat rotary VC actuator, superb sounds. I still have it, the largest HDD in my collection! My smallest drives are all 1 inch Hitachi and Seagate CF interface units, between 4 and 8 GB. Hope to see a Miniscribe 8051A upcoming-enjoyed the Conner Peripherals units and your early Miniscribe based Maxtors, and the early IBMs too!
Heh, doesn't even run the HDMotion properly. It's functionally dead!
5:48 i have that hard drive but mine has the shorter seektest. mine is from singapore so maybe they used different seektests on them
hey i got one of them but idk why it has a logo that says serial AT and whenever i try to connect to my motherboard in doesnt dectect it and i tried evrything but it doesnt detect it, its brand new, i mean its from 2018 but i never opened it, and now i wanted to add to my pc and it doesnt detect it why could it be
Wouldn’t mind getting a 300gb SCSI version again someday.
How to install in ddr3 motherboard bord
Too bad about that one...this was one of their better drives from that period.
I have one of these drives in my main desktop computer right now, which replaced a Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 (a very similar drive to this one).
Thanks for this video.. I have ended up with 2 of these and was wondering if that sound was normal. Seem it is! :)
Such footage from ibm hard drive, Simple as recordable writer?
there was also a version of the Barracuda 7200.10 with SATA connector, those has a different start sound
i think some of the disk are missing
No , the drive is supposed to look like that
0:42 I have the same ST340016A, and it's one of my favorite hard drives to test or use in an old computer.
9:44
Nice collection! I have some hard drives from my collection I don't want anymore. Do you want them?
How do you set up HDmotion??
I got one of those things, for instance, I use them for multiboot windows os, and I had an hp z400, it has 3 HDD, like the Toshiba 2tb, one 500gb Seagate HDD and one 320gb Hitachi HDD those ones, And I have 2ssd and 1 nvme
its really cool!
какая температура в работе и в простое?
but how its working being dead!?
If you call that working, get your eyes checked.
Uh, what
i opened a few of these , and the top part of the disk is unused , while the bottom has 1 head , i like this drive
these older WDs sound great. This is my favorite spin-up of any 2000s drive honestly.
First is coctail maschine 😂😂
belongs in the trash. why do people hold on to obsolete crap like this
For people like you who don't understand to complain about.
Cause new stuff is boring
Opinions are neat aren't they. @@thegeforce6625

Super nice job with the effort put into the video and glad to see the DSP3210 still works, could only imagine it in person! I also really like the WD Enterprise 2170, it looks extremely attractive and sounds great. This was a joy to watch and very relaxing to see : ))
Glad people collect hard drives. There are some models and brands I've never heard of. Never knew that WD made SCSI drives I could never find any mention of them anywhere. Or the "Performer" drives, didn't know those were a thing either.
Impressive collection! Most of the drives are in really good shape :)
Video was too long! 🤔 ... Could you make it SHORTER please? 🤣
Sure, just play it at double speed! :p
Very impressive amount of effort put into one video : ) It's nice to see your collection grow back up!
the way it moves feels like its animated footage.
Stunning collection! Really nice to see them all like this, I'm sure editing took forever? So many lovely drives, that 2.5" MobileMax will forever be a holy grail!
I think I still have one stashed away among other obsolete computer parts. 🙂
1:32 i have that same drive but mine is IBM Oem
IBM’s global storage technology division made some superb drives. They were highly respected, going on to develop and introduce advanced HDD technologies in their products. This tradition continued when the Division was purchased by Hitachi, becoming HGST. Hitachi later sold to Western Digital, another respected company, known for its range of quality HDD interface boards and eventually, its own drives. WD marketed its own drives alongside HGST drives, but sadly not any more… Some HGST docs can be accessed via WD website ‘support’. All that being said, at 1:32 the HDD isn’t IBM or IBM related. It’s a neat Conner Peripherals 80MB unit, derived like most 2nd generation CP drives, from the awesome single platter CP3044A. CP was founded by two disgruntled former Seagate employees.
I will never have any degree of space for something like this. Your collection is beginning to rival Arnlol's number wise!
Great video! I love the format of the video, a great way to show off your whole hard drive collection.
Thank you!
Really nice video! You certainly have some drives that are quite rare in your collection
My dogs were actually born on what that date code says!
Awesome!
Such a silent spindle for a 10K drive.
It's absurdly quiet
What is that supposed to tell me?
No I know you're watching look at the empty space in that zero the letter basis and the rotation and the change of it I mean if they don't want that concept of those things I'd like to have it
I'd like to use it or even if I have to license without certain things coming out of it
I’m going back in a little while I got a couple of errands done I got a little something for the boys and I have a couple things for the girls and I will bring some of those for them and I’ll get you some of them.
@@SproutyPottedPlant whose math you going back in on
I own one of these exact drives, except mine was out of an HP computer, yet mine sounds exactly the same as the one shown in this video!
Love the spindle sound of these WDxxAA drives
9:13 its maxtor not maxor
…what the heck? Did I hear contact-park on a drive from 2018? Or is that squeaky noise from something else?
You sure did, no loading ramps here.
I own a WD3200AAJB-00J3A0 with the same hard disk sounds!
Looks like the same model, that I had on my Asus Laptop Almost turn 5 years old, and it still work nice until now
I own a Seagate ST3160023AS!
I have the exact same drive!
Good and reliable hard drive
