    Wonderful drives, great looking, and certainly were great quality for their time. Just look at the care that went into how it looks with the label and warranty seals, lovely!

      I used to have a few old 40GB and 80GB Maxtors... they weren't bad disks and made a glorious racket when ya spun 'em up...
      Sadly they did get pretty bad in the early to mid 00's before they got bought out by Seagate...

    I like how the motor kind of 'vibrates' into it's final RPM. Nice drive.

    Very nice drive ... This video made me curious how old the oldest of my drives is. Out of the fully functional ones (not even dead sector) it is a Seagate ST157A-1 with date code 9041 (41st week of 1990). Out of all my drives it is a Seagate ST251-1 with date code 8930 that works as well but has 5 bad sectors but otherwise works flawlessly.

    Fun fact : i just got a pile of electronics and there was 3 exact ide maxtor drives like this, just need to get sata 3 to ide
    Also, how much are these worth?

      $35 at least, IF they work. Be sure not to charge insane prices like others that think they have something worth more than it is :)
