These will forever be my favourite modern Hitachi design. So reliable it's almost unbelievable. First time I've seen someone do hdmotion on one of these, that was quite the fun sight!
With this platform came the end of the Mars name, with a platform name of Mars-KP along with the rare CoolSpin version, Mars-KPC. The next one would follow in Toshiba's footsteps and switch to Zodiac constellations, with Aries. (Guess what my next Toshiba will be!)
@@le_mody335 Yeah I see that. I see some WD black and red drives that are Hitachi based. I would prefer those over the WD drives that has the WD based mechanisms

Very solid Hitachi / HGST mechanism. Sadly they don't make these drives now, so the chance of finding one this is brand new is very very slim.
They are just branded as WD but the recipe is the same
