Tipper's Journey - A Retrospective
In this video, we take a deep dive into the backstory of Tipper in order to better understand the entirety of the project, and the course it has taken over the past three decades. From his one of a kind live sets, to his intentionally curated Tipper & Friends events, and uniquely weird music, Dave Tipper has won over the hearts of many fans through his art. With Tipper set to retire from touring in 2025, we look back across the duration of the project, seeing how his early influences blossomed into a long spanning career, complete with a dedicated community that has championed Tipper's music and events for over thirty years.

The Musical Journey of Kevin Parker (Tame Impala)
I’m a simple man. I see audio eats video. I click.
Damn ypu missed some epic early tipper dates- Symbiosis 2011 and Beloved 2012
OMG yes... my favorite producer of all time.
Great stuff as always. What's the track playing around the 25 minute mark?
It's a sample loop from splice, I can look up the specific name if you want though
14:04 Hmmmm....Neuralink...Neurobass?
The sickest producer to ever do it. Genuinely sad he’s retiring but he deserves to be chill and happy forever. So many good memories and so many insane tunes. Dude set the bar so high with his banger and downtempo sets. No one does it like him.
Nice! Thanks for covering Tipper!
goated!!
Wake up babe, audio eats is back covering another legend. Also congrats on the 10K break my boi. You got the stuff, rooting for your rise!
these have been great... Thank You
2:55 Joyce’y the dirty bastard
I really like his early rap days when he was making a lot of stuff for people but wasn't fully putting his voice on stuff yet
my body is ready
lets goo - so glad i made it to shambhala this year
I wanted to go for years when I was younger but Canada doesnt let felons in.. strongly considered getting smuggled in a few times :D These days the bigger festivals have really lost a lot of charm imo with phones, social media, etc. Now I just do small festivals and don't miss the bigger ones.
WOOOOOOOO
Represent is still one of the best songs ive ever heard
was a fan of him during his vine days and got into his music as soon as getter launched. im glad i got to see getter for the first time at nocturnal last year with his b2b with space laces. very unfortunate that he grew apart from the getter project. i started producing riddim because of him and always thought about wanting to collab with him.
from vine, to simi valley, to dubstep, to rapping what a guy
he didnt quit ive seen him dj twice in the last year
Let's see him do Pro Wrestling next 🤔 hear me out... He would mesh well.
bullshit transition I would say
Insanely talented guy. a real grinder and one of the best rappers today, super nice flow, great lyrics and raps all the stuff super clean live
Weewwwwwww I had no idea
just to be clear, this is not dubstep, this is riddim.
This dude does a lot of side quests
Just listened to his Bloatsucher IDM stuff, man he is simply gifted at music production
Saw Getter with Nick and awkwardturtle before he also retired back in like 2017 for the wat the frick tour and it was probably one of the best times i’ve had at a show
Its crazy that i knew all three of his characters (Getter, Suhh Dude, Terror Reid) and had no idea they were all the same person
Watching this fresh off of Wakaan Fest '24, and I while I appreciate the hell out of Martin and his team already, this raises my respect for the person he has molded himself into. He seems like such a pure, driven, and passionate spirit, and you feel that in his music and presentation. Much love for this video!!!
ive been tired of boring content on recommendations for months. So glad i found this video
Great vid. Can we have a Troyboi, Mr Carmack video as well.
Definitely
bruh everyone hated on Getter for no reason...
31:33 Rest in peace 🙏
i was today years old when i learned that getter made the suh dude vine
Was honored to be at his 4 pm 1st Lost Lands set.
I don’t see him completely leaving edm. He should do both. He is a true unsung pioneer 🙌🏾
53:29 I literally saw Edgar winter play with Ringo Starr not that long ago lol
2:21 Those mfs made Skynet
Best songs to get into Terror Reid?
Uppercuts and Stormin tha Gatez were the first 2 I heard that got me interested, they're both from 2017 so if you listen to those first then work your way up to newer tracks you can hear his progression
From a guy who genuinely used to love EDM, that shit is trash now. I am so glad his music career went the way that it did. He's an absolute genius.
I discovered Odesza my freshman year of highschool in 2012. Summers gone. I still remember listening to the album on repeat in the fall of 2012. What a time to be alive.
If he could do a flume and drop the album of project files that'd be nice 🙏
I love how you mentioned deathpact 😋
Love terror, easy Mac, golden bsp
I still think his earliest Tearout works were the best. I'm always bumping Killer, Swine, Psycho, etc. Heavy.
When he came to Albuquerque I wasn’t old enough to go into the venue but I stood right by the doors listening from a far.
i dont idolize artist, i just remember their name when it is so good. but getter... its different, cant lie, im sad that i would not be able to hear getter anymore, the old one, the one that i know, with that open snare and stuff
I’m so glad I got to see terror Reid at everafter music festival right before his getter set. He wore a red supreme coat n he looked badass.
i hate how we got zoned to different high schools in california back in the day
