As a beginner on drums/guitar, I am glad I learned that he actually went to a music school since I thought before he was self-taught on all the instruments
@@multimusicsam It's called John XXIII college, but apparently it's for pre-k through 12th grade so idk why it's called college haha, I guess that's just how things work in Australia. For actual college post high school I think Kevin went to a regular university. I don't think John XXIII is a dedicated music school, but they offer music classes and that's where Kevin met Dom.
If you get to find more information about the wave house and you wish to, please share some in a new video, I absolutely love that place and know so little about it besides admiring it from the innerspeaker live video, again, great video, now I understand a little bit more the person behind kevin parker, cheers! and you earned a new sub
After doing some more googling on it, it looks like it was built by a surfer from California in the 80's and rented out as a recording studio/event venue. I guess it became popular so a lot of famous artists rented it to record there. It looks like people would have weddings and parties there too. That's about all the info I could find on it, but there's also a Facebook page called "Wavehouse Studios Music Club" that has some more pictures of it if you want to check that out. Hope that helps, and thanks for the support!
Great video!! Where did you find all the info about his early life? I’ve watched lots of interviews and read articles and all that and there was stuff that was new to me!
Oh okay, I knew it was in 2009 but I didn't realize what point in the year he died. I just realized the timeline is a little confusing in that part of the video because I'm talking about him recording Innerspeaker, then I jump back and mention the first EP and sundown syndrome. Thanks for the correction, and thanks for watching!
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Parker_(musician) It's in the very last paragraph of the "Other projects" section, but it doesn't look like there's much info on the internet about it ua-cam.com/video/Mr2EYbuIqZo/v-deo.html Some people in the comments say they got it in a Tame Impala torrent, but some people got it in torrents of other artists. I guess it might not be a confirmed thing, the drums do sound like Tame Impala drums to me but everything else is pretty vague.
this is great, but you sound very uninterested in what you're talking about. I know that's not the intention, but wanted to make you aware of it in case it's something you want to address in the future.
That's a fair observation. I'm very interested in this stuff which is why I make these videos, but I do find it difficult to add inflection to my voice while reading a script/recording one sentence at a time. I have a fairly monotone voice in general, but I do sound a little more animated when I'm talking normally, it just comes through differently when reading out loud vs regular talking. Hopefully it's something I will get better at over time! And thank you for watching!
@@StevenMW Yeah they're all long term, Jay Watson and Dom Simper have been with Kevin since the Dee Dee Dums days in 2007. Julien Barbagallo has been with them since 2012, and Cam Avery has been with them since 2013. The only new-ish member is Rafael Lazaro-Colon who joined in 2019. They've only had 2 members leave - Nick Allbrook (who is a member of Pond) left in 2013 and Loren Humphrey who was only with them for a year in 2019 filling in for Rafael. I would imagine they all get paid pretty well since they're entitled to their cut of the live shows, Kevin is just the one who owns the rights to all the music.
What is your all time favorite Tame Impala track? For me it's Solitude is Bliss
Keep on Lying🔥
Eventually, The Moment, and Let It Happen
Elephant 🐘
Endors toi
Runway, Houses, City, Clouds... That song makes me feel so good and thankful of life!

I’m pretty sure his dad taught him all the instruments way before he was at that school
@@audioeats yeah Australians call high school “college”
i have so much love for this human
I miss the Classic Rock and Psychedelic Rock stuff...Tame Impala will always be great though...one of the best ever
Worth seeing him in concert!
This video was well made, all I would add is the writing process and recording behind each album.
Also Glastonbury was a big moment for him
I will look into Glastonbury! What year was that?
Great video! Hopefully it gets more views as time flows!
Thank you! I appreciate the support!
He has come a long way from The Dee Dee Dums. But every artist has a beginning. I personally think Tame Impala was meant to be.

Have visited wave house a couple of times, I was the last person to record/use the house before he bought it.
houdini has been in my head for weeks
really want another album
Same, hopefully it won't be too much longer

Thank you! I just do a lot of googling and find small bits of info here and there, usually it'll be some old obscure website that has the best info
Really good info and video, only issue is the audio/narration
Thanks! Yeah this was one of my first videos so the voiceover isn't great
Obviously it helps that he can sing.
6:52 glass half full of wine 😂😂😂😂
Great video mate!
You are a gem 💎 sir 🎶🎤🖤☀️
this is so well researched! shout out to wikipedia!
Lol
Saw the Dee Dee Dums on knew Years Eve , Norfolk Hotel. 15 years ago
That's wild! Must have been crazy to watch them get so famous later on
