(Queen was one of few bands that were sometimes "better" live.. although, some songs deserve a listen to the album version.. and this is one... Freddie wrote it for piano.. and Brian actually learned to play harp for it.. although, of course, Brian could play any stringed instrument anyway.. )

From what people have said elsewhere, I understand that the drummer was fairly new to the band, and his father was in the audience that night for the first time.

Maybe it's because of when I heard them back in the 80s, but I can't help but feel an emotional connection between this song and Springsteen's "Born in the USA" album. However British Dire Straights is, this track always had an American feel to me.

This is Wembley 1986. Now you need to react to them doing this song at Rock in Rio. An estimated 300,000 to 500,000 non English speaking people who sang most of the song to Freddie and Brian in perfect English. They were overcome with emotion because they didn’t think anyone would understand them. Queen was the headliner and didn’t go on stage until 2:00 in the morning.

Just seen Deep Purple live Manchester, England. Same singer, drummer and bass player. Keyboard Jon died a while ago. Now Don Airey. The guitarist lives in a castle playing Renaissance music he left in 93 mid-tour Joe Satriani stood in. Then Steve Morse till 2022 now Simon Mcbride.

The best sound for a guitar. God, he can play. He is making love to that guitar 9:20. So glad my dad played this to me as a baby.

Anyone else remembers those good old days? The first music I bought, pronounced it Dire Streets and because Knopfler sound German thought it was a German band 🤣🤣 TIP: the original clip from Dire Straits - Money for Nothing. One of the first music videos with CGI, it blew my mind and I immediately bought the cassette (because the CD was to expensive)..... PS When it comes to listening to music I prefer my smartphone. No more walkman and radio recorded tapes, CD players as vulnerable as porcelain, or expensive Minidisks and Ipod's with all kinds of obligated software that takes hours to sync.
