Yes! I'm glad you are enjoying the Dire Straits. It is nice to know young people like yourself will keep enjoying this music for many years to come. Great reaction
I've had the good fortune of enjoying DS since the beginning and seeing them live several times including Alchemy in 83. I must admit I've not kept up with MKs more recent stuff. The earlier years were definitely the outstanding. DS and MK have a huge catalogue which I'm sure you'll enjoy exploring. I've watched a few of your reactions and recognise how you ,"feel" certain tunes. There are other artists that will blow you away. I tried to start you off with Deep Purple's Child in Time which they refuse to release as a single upto now, and if you really understand is an icon of music art. I'll continue to comment with suggestions now and again, and I hope you try them and enjoy the experience. Unlike others I'll be suggesting a whole variety of genres
This is the very beginning of this band. The sweat bands came later when they got so sweaty it bothered their hands to play. Mark just turned 75 and is still going strong.
Yeah, they were nothing to do with image or fashion. Purely there to avoid sweaty hands and face due to the incredible heat produced by certain lighting configurations and design.
They faded out the solo in the original album, probably to preserve quality on the vinyl LP, but the single release was a different cut and included the famous "twiddly bits" that the song is famous for. Later remasters of the album on CD and on greatest hits albums have unsurprisingly included it in full length version.
Please check out Neverland (live '09) by Marillion 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 It's a awesome love song, you'll love it for sure ❣️ Marillion is a great band, it sounds like Pink Floyd, shimmer like Coldplay, ache like Radiohead and thunder like Muse.

Im Happy that people like you enjoing Dire Straits, in 51 now, the First time i Heard Dire Straits i was 12😅 and never stop
Catch "Once Upon a Time in the West" from Alchemy 1983 concert. Mark plays solo about 80% of it.
The rhytmen guitar player is Mark's kid brother David Knopfler
