Great for the weekend warior but bandsaw mills waste less and are faster. Great review.
I always say match the tool to the job and your budget. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Great demonstration of a very useful tool.
Thanks Sis, it's an incredible tool for sure. 👍TCT
What size tongs for all around log splitting and stacking would you recommend? For firewood, would a pickaroon be better? Especially for picking up and stacking split logs?
Any of the 11"-12" tongs are probably the best if you bring your rounds to the splitter. I typically don't use my pic-a-roon for stacking. My splits are smaller (no larger than 4' x 4")so none of the tongs work well. I primarily use my pick-a-roon to move large round and get splits out of the back of the pickup. I do have several other video's on both log tongs, pick-a-roon and cant hooks you may check out. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT
That’s a nice little splitter. Thanks for giving us the good and bad, where are these sold? Jeff and Alaska Wood Yard.
Jeff, Split-Fire is manufactured in Canada. If you check out my video #132 I do an in depth review on the splitter. The 1165V has incredible power for a 7.5 ton splitter. I think Jill would love it if you folks need to resplit some of the wood coming off the Cord King processor. Appreciate you watching and commenting.👍TCT
Can’t wait to get one!
You won't be disappointed! Fast, powerful (for it's size) and won't break the bank. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍TCT
Just discovered your channel Tony. Looks like you're going to cost me A LOT of money. That's a Good thing though. I love learning about new useful tools to use around the farm.
Ha ha I always tell people I’m not selling anything just informing you of what’s available. Your back will love you after using some of these tools. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Great video. I really like the Reipal log tongs.
I’m glad we have so many companies that off amazing log tongs. Your back will love you if you get one or two. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
Does the saw guide essentially lock the saw onto the mill or is the saw and plate just sitting on the mill? Thanks...
Wayne as Chris would say it’s slicker than owl dung. The saw is attached to the carriage (orange plate) with the two adapters. The orange plate and the attached chainsaw glide on a tongue and grove system of the 13’ top guide bar of the mill. All you do is push the saw slightly to mill wood. Hope I explained it to your understanding. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
@TonysCoolTools Thanks...I understood from video how slide attached to saw, just wasn't sure if slide then attached to mill or just the weight of saw held it on the 13 guide!👍
I use the Masdam with a snatch block for trees. Don’t use it much but feel it’s safer than wire with a come along. Great tool!❤
James the snatch block is a great idea to double you pulling power or redirect the tree or whatever you are winching. The only thing you have to watch is not to exceed the maximum capacity of your rope. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Awesome job Mr Tony. I really want to try one of these mills out. They look very handy.
Mike, the Logosol F2+ was an easy and fun mill to operate. I can see how a Woodhound can get addicted. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍TCT
👍
Very slick!! Great job showing it off Mr. Tony!! Enjoyed it!
Jacob, now I know why so many woodhounds splitting firewood go to the next step. It's really addictive every time you open a log to find a beautiful piece of wood. The only thing is you can't keep that tootpick in your mouth unless you want to eat a bunch of sawdust LOL Thanks for watching and commenting. TCT
@@TonysCoolTools 😂😂. That made me laugh!! I’ve been interested in an Alaskan sawmill for awhile but I like this better. Maybe someday I’ll invest in one. Thanks again Mr. Tony!!
Nice accessory….honestly I’m not to sold on it. I’m curious hot much fuel you used? Great video and keep on pumping them out.👏🏻🇺🇸
Larry I'll have to check how much gas I used. This might be a good alternative for someone getting in to milling lumber but doesn't want to spend a lot of money like a gas powered bandsaw mills. I'm a firm believer in matching the tool to the job or task at hand. If you're planning on milling a lot you may want to go with a bandsaw (and Logosol makes those as well). Thanks for watching and commenting,. TCT
Is the leg lever a new option or did you somehow make that?
Though the knee control on my splitter was the first working prototype shipped out they are available as of Oct 1st. You can check Split-Fire's web page. Thanks for watching and c commenting. 👍TCT
Hi Tony, I don't know if you were at Paul Bunyan, but sorry I missed you if you were. We were there all day Saturday, I couldn't find Chris either. Anyway, thanks for the nice demo. But it's just too slow for me and I worry about wearing out the chainsaw. So, I'm thinking about a Norwood or something similar. Take care and thanks again for the video. Shalom/gw
I couldn’t make it this year to PB. Depending on the HP of a gas powered bandsaw it would probably cut the time in half depending on the type of wood you were milling. Naturally you want to match the tool to the job you’re doing. If you plan on milling a lot a bandsaw may be the way to go and as you know Logosol makes gas powered units as well. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Thanks Tony. How do you fix the saw to the slider when it has captive nuts?
James the folks at Hartville are a Stihl dealer and told me they have to press out the captive nuts. You then have the old style nut system. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Nice review, Tony. Seems like Logosol has the edge on chainsaw mill tables.
David they definitely make a quality piece of equipment that works extremely well. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Ut oh Tony before long you know that family and friends are going to be asking you to make some lumber for them huh 🤔 and you know that Chris will probably be the first one to ask that question 😮😊❤just saying
Todd too late it’s already happening 😂 As long as they help with clean up I’m OK! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Is'nt great how plant and equiptment have come shead over the years? Good informative video Tony. Thanks and cheers from HB NZ
Cliff, you are so right. Competition has caused companies to step up and become innovative and we woodhounds are the winners. You folks in NZ have your share of awesome products as well. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Tony your presentation was top notch! Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Thanks for your kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I had a blast playing, I mean demonstrating the Logosol chainsaw mill. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Missed you at the Paul Bunyon show, but family comes first. Hope to see you in the future. As always Tony, your videos are very informative.
James it was a bummer I couldn’t make it this year. Im glad you enjoyed the video. I plan on attending PB next year. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
How do you know that everything is level? You've got the ground, the log holders, etc.
Jim for the demonstration I got the mill as level as I could. Ideally when I move the mill to an area it will stay at I’ll use cinder blocks or 6 x 6 piecies of wood that have been leveled for my foundation. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
A sawmill from Sweden, but the wrong saw, you need a Husqvarna.
ha ha it works well with both Husky’s and Stihl. If you noticed I mentioned using a Husky 592 XT or the Stihl MS661 to get faster cutting times. ironically there is a back story about the CEO of Stihl giving the inventor backing and support when no other chainsaw manufacturer would. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
I live about 35 minutes away and buy a lot of my woodworking tools there
Then you are one of the lucky ones. Hartville Hdwr, Lemans, Paul Bunyan Show, and the Rock n Roll hall of fame. Does it get any better😂 Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Aluminum construction good working height, portability & simple adjustment also having the dogs make this an attractive unit ...I Like it and thanks for the presentation.
Yup you nailed all the features, it’s an awesome piece of equipment if you don’t want to invest in a bandsaw mill but want quality results. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Love that Logosol quality- just got their Smart Holder. Called the lumber yard to order 12’ 2x4’s - all out of 127 footers! Great video Tony, take care
Ha ha Michael, they seem to always be out of those 127.6 foot 2x4’s. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Wow! Tony you were right. That tool is slicker then owl dung! That looks like something I may have to add to my arsenal. Thanks Tony.
Keith, ha ha. owl dung. that sounds like a In The Woodyard “Chris-ism”. You definitely won’t be disappointed with any of the Logosol products. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
That was interesting thanks Tony
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
That is a slick tool
I can definitely see having a lot of fun with the Logosol mill. Glad we’re getting some cooler weather so we can “play” I mean work in the woodyard! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
That is a real nice saw milling tool Tony . The adjustability is what makes this one stand out . 👍🏻
I totally agree Del. The simplicity is the other thing I like about it. My wife tells me I’m bad with math, but as long as I can hear the click I think I’ll be ok😂. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
@@TonysCoolTools 😂
A couple of neat things you can do with the Logosol chainsaw sawmill that no other sawmill can do is mill tapered posts. Use V-blocks and you can make tapered octagon posts, a potential big $ maker.
I agree the Logosol mill opens a lot of opportunities. Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
Great video Tony. Looks like a lot of fun!
It was really a lot of fun using this chainsaw mill. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Hi Tony love you new tool big wow!!! ( Ty Ron
Ron, glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
You'll be able to make some really fancy hunting blinds/mini-cabins with the Logosol sawmill.
Jeffrey, any of the Logosol sawmills (chainsaw or bandsaw) are capable with optional accessories to do incredible wood processing. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Dam at that speed I could grow a tree
Bill chainsaw mills are not meant for speed. Even a bandsaw mill is a slow process. Most people think milling lumber with a 40”-50” circular saw blade that takes seconds is how lumber is produced. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Where did Logosol find a 128' long log that was straight enough to mill a 2x4? Be careful getting a better chainsaw mill set up. It leads down a slippery slope towards bandsaw mills and another addicting hobby. Just like firewood.
That was a really long time ago. Absolutely incredible feat.
We have Hartville Hardware and also Lehman's Hardware(Amish) between the 2...... you can find everything!!
Greg, I forgot to mention that awesome store Lehmans. You guys really have it all including the Rock in Roll Hall Of Fame! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
This is awesome….😊 I like the instructions 😊 Great Job Tony😊 Happy Wife Happy Life🙏🇦🇺
Rick glad you enjoyed the video. Yes Logosol has thought of everything including great instructions. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
That is truely a COOL TOOL, Tony. Can’t wait to see next video you’re making on it. I love how expandable it it too!
Tim, glad you enjoyed the video. It really is a tool you can grow with and expand when you are ready. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Thanks for the great demo. Were you using a Ripping chain or a standard cross cut ?
Yes, I was using a ripping chain, it produces a better quality cut. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Very cool tool indeed!
I agree it really was a lot of fun using. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Very informative, Another job well done. Plz swing down to Chris and do a vid on his Split force before it goes away. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share with us
Jean, glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately the Split Force is already gone. I would have loved to try it. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Tony. This is a great product video! Thanks.
Steve I’m glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Good morning Tony! Logosol makes really great products. This is a great little mill for making slabs like that, those knots are beautiful eh. Thanks for sharing! Take care
Russell Logosol definitely makes some high quality equipment. They know a thing or two about milling. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Another cool tool as always! I also like that you are working off the height of the saw rail.

Thanks tony 😊
For most people, a short term rental is all that's required. That leaves Home Depot or Lowes.
Totally agree but there are always the woodhounds looking for a well built and fast splitter that won’t break the bank and last a lifetime. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
