Those are some really good tips, slowing down and breaking it up into sections gives you a sense of accomplishment before beginning the next section. I've done a lot of sewing over the years, though not much in the past 10 or so. I have a younger friend that I met at my volunteer job that wants to learn to sew, so I've had her over and we made some simple bags for another colleague's baby shower. Now I purchased your ladybird pattern for both of us to make the garment together. it will help her to have someone with some experience and it will be fun for me to share what I know, and get a great garment out of it.

Don't swear at your machine. Talk nicely to her and tell her how much you appreciate her. At least she helps you not to have to sew by hand😂

Oof, the nightmare thing is my thing too. A recent medication addition unexpectedly helped, and made me realize how awful the nightmares made me feel all day long and dread going to sleep. that's cool, congrats! I think it's nice that you print these on normal white paper, I bought a pattern from an indie designer before and they printed it on that flimsy tissue paper, which I'm not too big of a fan of. But they did have the nice little booklet for the instructions, I can't imagine it's handy to have all the instructions on a giant A0 page? then you have to cut the pages out yourself or how does it work? 😅
