I love that you include the mending kit, but perhaps a re-think might be appropriate? Would you think of having them as an option for your customer to include or not to include, for example? Do you think perhaps charging a dollar for it would encourage your customers to actually use them, as well as noticing them in the first place and hanging on to them then too?
I love this idea of including a mending kit with each order. It shows how thoughtful and considerate you are of people and the environment. I also like your idea of making a garment unique. It reminds me of Japanese Boro/Sashiko mending. Please keep doing it.
I LOVE the idea of your mending kits. Yes, they won't be needed for quite a while, but how cool to have them when they are needed! Back in the day, "nicer" garments used to come with extra buttons and thread attached either to the label, or in a plastic bag. I appreciated those so much, buttons are want to pop off and having an extra is such a blessing!
I would love kits with the pattern all ready to go, with 100% cotton thread, and best of all with your beautiful naturally-dyed linen. I just today printed and taped the Canary pattern -- my weekend project -- but that's my least favorite part! The mending kits are a brilliant idea, really adding value to your beautiful clothes.
Where have you been all my life??? I have been sewing since I was 9 years old, and over the past couple of years have really developed a passion for recycling, reusing, and upcycling clothing, to give them a second or third life! You are an inspiration!!
@@charliedarwintextiles you style is exactly what I love. Clothes that are comfortable, look well put together, and of quality construction, with nods to both the past, and sustainability.
Sewing kits sound very appealing because not only does one get one of your patterns, but also some of your hand dyed fabric! Any ideas of the pattern costs? I know yardage amounts make a price difference. I also like your mending kits very much.
Yay! Thanks for your support on this! And I'm still working out the pricing... I think printed patterns should only be about $5 more than my digital patterns, and yardage will factor in and remain the same as it is already on my website!
The kits sound like a great idea. Alas, I would not be able to buy said kit, as long as international shipping is not an option. So I have to rely on the sewing pattern option only. Afterward, I then have to hunt for suitable linen fabric here in Scandinavia.
Do you add basic mending directions? I've found many people have no clue where to start...even how to thread a needle! And visible mending ideas too. I've just found your channel. Maybe you have a video on these id ad?
I do include both! Haha I agree, lots of people don't even know where to start. I put a QR code on the mending kits so they can watch my video tutorials on it.
G'day from Aus. What a great idea. I would love a sewing kit but would you ship to Australia? I'm just starting to get back into sewing and think this would be a great way to get going. Plus I love your style.
Thank you for the encouragement on the kits! I am considering opening back up for international orders, I temporarily stopped after having a couple customers get frustrated with having to pay customs/duty fees. I may try it again, stay tuned!
Have any thoughts or ideas on my mending kits, sewing kits, or sewing patterns?? Leave them here! 🙌⬇

What a nice idea to add a mending kit to your sewn garment shipments! That shows the respect you have for your customers AND the earth. Love that!

Yes on the sewing kits please. 😊

Clever and so thoughtful that you add these to your orders! I love the look of the patches with a bit of embroidery; such character 😊

love the idea of a kit that would include fabric to go with a printed pattern
Awesome! Thank you for your support on this!

Yes, on the kits! Can we pay extra for the pattern to be printed at our custom size based on height?
Yay, thank you for your support on this! And that is an interesting idea... I will definitely consider it!
