    15 minutes is appealing to a lot, even 30 mins is. I think long workouts is a big factor that makes people hesitate. It's way I mention to the people I work with overseas that they only need to spend 10 to 15 minutes in a day to practice to stay on top, which is so much more manageable.

    You don't need light or heavy weight, you need moderate weight. Muscle confusion is to add muscles to your workout but completely not necessary. The more you focus on a specific routine and not change it then you maximize the training of specific muscles. But all this is better explained by Mike Mentzer and Arthur Jones who applied this theory of low volume high intensity

    • @DadBodFitness
      @DadBodFitness 19 днів тому

      Hi Cujo! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Well hopefully you see the point I'm making. It's very undisputed that it's ideal to train with light, moderate, and heavy weights with different rep ranges. I'm totally with you though in regards to not changing to much. A lot of people do a different workout everyday and never repeat so they can't see if they are consistently getting stronger. You nailed it in the head there! Thanks for watching!

    • @DadBodFitness
      @DadBodFitness 20 днів тому

      Oh yes absolutely that's so true. Most compound movements are much better for heavier loads but you wouldn't want to be so 2-7 reps for lateral raises for example. Small muscle isolation movements are more appropriate for higher reps and lighter loads

  • @orrefis
    @orrefis 21 день тому

    I tend to vary the rep ranges depending on the exercise, so I'm going from 4-6 for some, and then 12-15 on others. What are your thoughts on deload periods? Does this benefit you the same way as changing from low to high / high to low rep ranges - since it also kind of "resets" the body?

    • @DadBodFitness
      @DadBodFitness 21 день тому

      Nice yeah that's another way to do it as well. I always include some in the 7-12 rep range since that has been shown to be the most effective for strict hypertrophy and muscle fiber growth. Yeah so deload periods have their place depending on your training consistency and life stressors. Jordan syatt has a great article on this and I reacted to it here ua-cam.com/video/WbNEESr3RE4/v-deo.htmlsi=RGxxh3MxDl4whKdV. The biggest gain from deloading is allowing your body to fully recover and have periods of complete rest and repair. If done right typically you will come back stronger after. I used to do these but my volume is pretty low right now and my life doesn't allow for intense consistency with training so I don't use them anymore as they have less impact for me. Thanks for watching! Super glad to have you here

    Most people just workout to burn calories so they can lose weight. But there is a better way. When you use your workouts to teach your body to use more calories you get way more freedom to eat what you want. Let's face it, you spend maybe 30-60 minutes working out but there are still 24 hrs left in the day. Would you rather best yourself up in those 30-60 minutes or learn how to burn more calories the rest of the 24hrs. Hey Dsscam! Not sure what you mean lol I'm not selling anything through this video. My point in this video is to provide a thorough perspective on some misleading information that was put in Dr Amy's ad. Why would being a doctor matter when it comes to nutrition? MD's don't get any training in nutrition so the almost 10 years of research I have spent on training and nutrition is actually far more than what she got in school. I'm sorry you feel UA-cam is pathetic...I have found UA-cam an incredible tool in many ways. Thanks for watching and I hope you find what you are looking for. I care about helping people transform their bodies so I'm gonna stick with UA-cam.

    So back in January of this year I weighed 290 lbs. I finally made up my mind to change. I started walking. 1/2 mile to start and just walked every single day. I now walk 6.3 miles everyday after work and 16.6 miles Saturday and Sunday. I lift weights 3 days a week also. I am currently at 170 lbs. 120 lbs lost. I don't and won't count calories. I eat breakfast. Lunch and dinner. All healthy clean food. That's good enough for me. I feel great.

      Hi Anthony!!! Yes absolutely this still applies! What you might find though is that it's going to take longer. So what if the biggest impacts of metabolic syndrome is insulin resistance. Building muscle is exactly what you need to become more insulin sensitive. Muscle is a storage tank for sugar in the body in the form of glycogen so the more of it you have the better your body handles sugar typically. Well actually you would be surprised how many people who are overweight actually have slowed their metabolism by chronically underrating and not training to build muscle. Depending on the situation many overweight people (often it's women because they don't like their weight to go higher and rely heavily on cardio) actually can end up still overweight but eating very few calories and can massively benefit from reverse dieting 👍. So yes skinny fat individuals will benefit as well but even overweight individuals can do this

    This is exactly how I use protein powder. At the end of the day, if my protein is low, and I'm out of yogurt and cottage cheese and all that stuff, I'll make a protein shake. I probably do this one or two times a week. And, it is highly processed stuff so, if avoiding these chemical concoctions is important to you, then the protein power is the last resort - and, of course, you could altenatively just make up your protein deficit the next day with food. It isn't like your matabolism clocks out at midnight. It's about averages over time...

    • @DadBodFitness
      @DadBodFitness Місяць тому

  • @MCJSA
    @MCJSA Місяць тому

    This makes sense. I've seen a similar thing, weight stalling at 146 - 150 at 1600k for weeks. Last winter I was eating whatever I wanted and weight went up again, mostly fat despite working out 3 to 4 times a week - heavy compound lifts. I think it's probably important when you increase your caloric intake to "bulk" or whatever, to get most of that from protein and fat and not just pig out on pizza and ice cream. I'll give this a try and see what happens. If I just get fat, I know what to do about it at least. No big deal.

    • @DadBodFitness
      @DadBodFitness Місяць тому

      Oh gotcha yeah definitely. Yeah it's possible that maybe your training wasn't stimulating enough stimulus but often times I find it's because people just eat far more than what they need to build muscle. We only need around 200-300 calories to effectively build muscle. You are absolutely right though it has to be a controlled increase from good nutrient dense foods that will fuel the muscle growth. Absolutely! Just take it slow, when in doubt focus on eating heavy protein as it's unlikely your body will store that as fat easily, and then lift consistently to get stronger. You got this!

      @DadBodFitness Місяць тому

      @@ines.mariee Well if you were morbidly obese I could understand wanting to get it off really fast but for that much I truly would take a modest approach. You'll maintain more muscle which is going to help you stay lean and get even leaner. Fast weight loss can seem like a better way to do it but it really slows down your metabolism and muscle is what's going to create the longevity and consistency for maintaining a healthy weight. 🙂

    @CosmicawarenessCitizen Місяць тому

    Wait isn't that just lean bulking ? 😅

    • @DadBodFitness
      @DadBodFitness Місяць тому

      Hi! Yes essentially although they have different names they are the same idea. But most people don't want to "bulk" even if it's lean bulking. Since it's the same method most competitors use to come out of a competition prep people look at it as "reverse dieting" since you are doing the opposite of what happens when you cut down. So it's more in how you pitch it and who you are talking which will determine whether or not you wanna pitch it as reverse dieting or lean bulking. Typically what I find happens though with reverse dieting is that people will start to even get leaner as they build muscle if done right. Even though they are technically gaining weight.
