And yes...I was very hot filming in that barn lol. I didn't realize how sweaty I was until I was watching it back. 😂😂 Question of the day! Should Josh be enrolling in the Summer Shreds competition? What do you think?
lol gosh I don't understand this. I'm love Will s content for the most part. I've been following him for years. It's an attention game and when I know I have valuable insight that I want parents to know I'm going to make it an intriguing title and thumbnail...and then deliver in what I promised. I'm sorry if you think that's rage baiting. I never once called for anyone to be angry or upset about rhis
Your rant about incorporating certain foods is misguided, If you could control the foods that you love like pizza ice cream and maybe some chips , you probably wouldn’t have a weight problem.. in the beginning you have to be strict to establish discipline and then incorporate some of the foods you love and I would recommend going to get them and not have them in the house on a regular basis
I think that is ultimately going to depend on the person. In my opinion demonizing foods is never going to keep you "on track". I speak to parents whose life is really full and being hyper critical of foods and AVOIDING foods is stressful and can cause them not to be successful. In my own clients we focus on INCLUDING good foods not just trying to CUT "bad foods" as some people would consider them. Yep your idea is great. That's another awesome way to do it to just not have them in the house. I really appreciate your thoughts and input!
@@DadBodFitness people who are over weight and obese lack self control , if you have a addiction to food , I don’t understand how you can tell people just starting out that it’s okay to eat certain foods in the beginning, I’m not saying to eliminate these food forever but you have to establish a baseline and discipline understanding the food you consume and the effects it has on your body is a learning lesson and sometimes that lesson sucks but in the end you will be so much better for the work you put in … I think your approach is based on trying to people please , don’t wanna make people feel uncomfortable (god forbid) .. need to tell people what they need to hear instead what they want to hear because it is often misleading and leads to failure
@@James-qw7cr You are making a giant leap James in how you are interpreting my approach. This is one aspect of transforming your body. People who are morbidly obese may have other obstacles as well and most times those types of people need therapy first before they can make progress. So the reality is a personal trainer is not going to be able to "break addictions" to foods. It's less an addiction to food and it's more an addiction to reaching for comfort. Anyways, that's getting all philosophical but it does matter. But what I'm trying to do is reach a specific person...it was me 10 years ago. Thinking foods are "bad" and that you'll never get jacked if you eat those foods. That's not true. In my experience I have never had someone who was "addicted" to junk foods actually avoid them just because I said so...because the issue goes deeper. Again though I appreciate your thoughts and how much you have thought about this in order to help people. It says a lot about who you are and that's phenomenal.
Honest question: When you have a few young kids, how do you stay consistent at the gym when the kids (and therefore you) don’t get consistent sleep? Is it better to have one solid workout day per week or 3 visits with potentially less than ideal sleep?
Hi Jason! Dude this has been my life and what I struggled with for years. I couldn't find anyone with a straight answer or who was going through being a young dad trying to be healthy and build muscle and stay lean. I'm so glad you asked that. Here's what I have learned through my own experience, the research, and the experience of others. Sleep is critical. Yes as parents we don't sleep much when the kids struggle to sleep. My kids have all gone through phases. Since sleep is so important when your "stress bucket" is overflowing because you aren't getting much sleep it means you need to scale back your training. You will actually get results faster that way. If you are trying to workout 3 days a week that might be too much stress on the body with low sleep so you would be better off only training once that week. To better give you an answer for your situation let me ask you this. Do you prefer working out more often for shorter workouts? Or less often for longer workouts? What fits better into your schedule? If you let me know that I can give you a more tailored answer. Thanks Jason!
I find it interesting knowing how you talk so much about taking things slow and not going aggressive and yet so much of your content is how to loose so much in so little time. This feels like an attempt to rage bait a different audience to get more views. I get that it seems to be smaller creators attempt to put their name on the map. But it just doesn’t work for this video. Will video was great and inspiring. You mentioned in this video that saying he was a new man was wrong because it was always in him. What a very particular gripe. I felt like a new man after I started taking my eating and working out seriously….again. Just content bait.
Hey there! Great question! Unfortunately most people think they need to lose weight fast. I however know as a trainer that's the worst thing you can do and that the fastest way to guarantee results is to lose weight sustainably. But I have to meet people where they are. That's why I show people the "fast" results which is actually doing it more slowly. Hopefully that helps. Great question! So it sounds like you may be misunderstanding my content. You probably didn't watch the whole video. Watch at least half of it and then tell me I'm rage baiting. I literally say I love Will's video and his content. I probably started watching him way before anyone watching this video did. It is an inspiring video but it's also vital to point out that there was a better way to do this. As a personal trainer passionate about parents I don't want them seeing this and following exactly what Josh did because it's the slower way to get there. I love that Will said that about! I agreed with Will and I said it was a great point he said that because it points out that Josh started with his identity as who he ALREADY was. Sounds like you are misinterpreting my video. I appreciate your thoughts!
Great video! The thing about the push ups is to install discipline because even though he does have motivation it’s not always going to be there. You’ll have good days, bad days, airplane mode days and the motivation won’t always be there 100 percent. Knowing there’s consequences (push ups for having bad food) is a reflection of his bad eating because the consequence of bad eating habits is not being there for his kid as much as he wants to be. Doing some pushups everyday as a consequence is completely sustainable for anyone. Whether they can do 1 push up or 50. It’s not asking for a a lot. It’s just teaching him that discipline by showing him the consequences of his actions. Awesome video though I think all your other points and input was well put together. Consider me a new subscriber💯
Hey thank you so much for watching! I appreciate your thoughts. I can appreciate where you are coming from and I'll take that as a pretty good argument. Well said. I just always prefer balance and looking at food without demonizing it. For some people I'm sure it's different and that actually helps them. I appreciate you a ton and thanks for subscribing!
Umm no I said it's because he literally can't walk. Talk to any personal trainer that knows what they are doing. If you can't walk you did too much and your body is just healing and not adapting to build muscle.
I don't think you are understanding my point. Some soreness is fine, but you don't even need soreness to build muscle. It's not a requirement. But here is the problem...when you literally can't walk or sit you over did the workout, your body will only be "healing" and not "adapting" and building muscle. It can also hinder the next workout and therefore it's more optimal to keep soreness to minimum.
Hi Josiah! Thank you so much I really appreciate that. I plan to. I love getting to connect with parents out there and helping them get jacked! 🤣 thank you so much for eatching
🤣🤣 oh that's interesting I didn't notice that. No it's a barn that is fixed up and decorated. It's a nice backdrop but yeah it could be the autofocus in my camera making it look funny
Personally, I enjoyed the commentary style. I feel like this can be a valuable thing as some people may take information from videos without question, or without realizing that there are different opinions / approaches out there. Plus there are people who are frauds who need to be called out (not Will though, he’s awesome).
Awesome dude thanks so much for your thoughts! I really appreciate it. Right I agree that's definitely what can happen. Having dialogue about it is very helpful. And yes Will is hilarious! I know the thumbnail comes off as like I am bashing him but I genuinely like his video idea and it's super cool that he has helped a subscriber. I just know that parents (or anyone for that matter) might mimic what they see and there were alot of things wrong with the challenge. But at the same time I wanted to point out what was right!
I watched this video and say Will messed up , but he helped this guy change his life for the better , Make it make sense .. first video I’ve watched of yours and it will more than likely be the last
Hi James, I appreciate you reaching out. If you watched the entire video you should have context for what I mean. I love Will! He's great and he is funny. I love the idea of his video and trying to help someone. But what I'm trying to do is help moms and dads avoid mistakes that will cost them time transforming their body, and could potentially prevent them from ever getting there. My reaction is to point out where the mistakes are, even though the heart behind it is amazing and I appreciate Will doing this to help somebody. The title and thumbnail, although are accurate, are there to create intrigue which is unfortunately the world of attention. If it's not interesting or intriguing, no one will click, and therefore no one will learn what they need to know to avoid the mistakes. Thanks for reaching out!
