FLsun QQ S Belt Replacement
I often see, or hear, that someone cannot auto-level their printer; and if they do, it will not repeat quality printing... 90 percent of the time, it is a worn belt. A belt will wear over time, but, most of the time, it is because the belts were over-tightened during assembly. This video will quickly show the proper way to set the belt tightness and how to quickly replace the belt if needed...

FLsun V400 Max Print Height
Переглядів 5188 місяців тому
Some of you have asked what the actual MAX print height is on the FLsun V400. Because of the way delta printers move, the max print height of 410mm will be in the exact center of the printer. Of course, the print head has to move from all around the build area. Well, it is the movement that print head that decreases the print height as shown in this example...

FLSUN Print Quality Test on Refurbished Printers
I have had my V400 for 8 months now. Since then I have had the MCU burnout as well as the effector control board. FLSUN did replace both. Also have the FLSUN enclosure. I just purchased a second one and am making parts on the original for a custom enclosure. Have since upgraded the part cooling to 5015 fans. Also both will be outfitted with stepper motor cooling using a temp controller. An ADXL345 input shaper is a must. Since the upgrade to the cooling and the input shaper on the original machine my prints are now coming out fantastic. I print the inner and outer walls @280mm/s and Sparse infill @350mm/s. Internal solid infill @250mm/s. I am slowly increasing speeds BUT very aware that the type of filament is the linchpin. Using PLA Plus at this time. Delta's are a unique printer and are not for everyone BUT with a bed that does not move first layers problems are a thing of the past compared to a bed slinger. Thanks for this detailed video once again. Cheers.
Hello Jeff: You are right, these printers are very friendly to a beginner. BUT, sounds like you truly know how to get the most out of these printers !!! Others could learn from you...
life saver
Very BIG Smile !!!
hi, sorry but I don't understand how to switch from the v400 to the sr or qqs, because the cleat values are not written. Could you help me understand how to do it. because I have a sr and qqs. Thank you
This doesn't work for FLSUN SR? Thanks
Correct !!!
Hello Dennis. FLSUN has a new throat, and in this new, PTE tube can't go inside the throat. Can you make a video with this new feature? Thanks
You are correct. It simply sits tight against the top…
how did you manage to move your pad so far from your printer and how did you add extra USB on the left side of your speeder pad?
you recently sent me a replacement pad, and I'm making sure my belts are tensioned as I am still getting terrible prints and bed leveling. I downloaded your device from your google site but you do not show your parameters for printing. Could you share them as stated in the video? Thank you.
.12 layer height, 3 walls, 30% infill, using Esun PLA+
Why are you not showing how you take it off in the first place? That does not seem to work for me
Thank you very much !!!
Hello, I have SR with 210 h of works I notice that filament from nozel start to drop out like is melt to much and smell like is burning the plastic. Is it symthoms of clocked Effector?
Guess what. I suffered a head crash on Saturday and it being the heat break. I've ordered a full replacement as well as new nozzle kit. I plan on doing the replacement upfront to get the printer back into operation and then replace the nozzle kit so I have a replacement.
It is definitely a learning experience !!!
@@dennisgignac5103 Question. Do you have a video for replacing the nozzle kit? Things went south with the full effector (won't go into detail but a confusion with a store on AliExpress). I got the nozzle kit but would prefer not having to take the effector off the printer to replace the nozzle kit.
Apparently flsun no longer supports the speeder pad. I have been having issues with it and it no longer works. So I guess I toss it in the garbage and go back to the stock firmware so I can use my printer.

I'm not sure what happened to my previous comment. Anyway, thanks for making this informative video. I do have one other question...what GCode start script do you use for the nozzle purge/wipe prior to printing? Thank you!
The start g-code for my SR is the following: G21 ; millimeter units G90 ; absolute coordinates M82 ; E absolute M140 S{material_bed_temperature} M104 S{material_print_temperature} M190 S{material_bed_temperature} M109 S{material_print_temperature} G28 ; home axis M420 S1 ; enable mesh leveling ; Lower nozzle and move to start position G1 Z150 G1 X-130 Y0 Z0.4 F3000 ; Extrude about 40 mm by printing a 90 degree arc G3 X0 Y-130 I130 Z0.3 E40 F2700 ; Retract and move nozzle up G92 E0 G1 E-1.5 F1800 G0 Z0.5 G1 E0 F300
@@dennisgignac5103 Thank you Dennis! That script worked perfectly.
thanks Dennis another great video ,
Thank you
FYI - I used this method and the very next print it broke my belt. I honed it in right in the middle of the gauge and it did not go well on the next print. I would not use this method.
Mine does not have see bed mesh setting
Yes, if you V400 Pad is on firmware V1.4, it included the bed mesh in the first calibration...
Hello Dennis, just bought a used one, there was old filament inside of the tube but now I don’t know how to get it out, tried printing and still not coming out
You will have to remove the PTFE tube from the extruder and the hot end. Heat the hot end to about 220c and remove the PTFE tube. May take a little force...
@@dennisgignac5103 I was able to get it out, thanks.. now having problem with the screen not moving passed the logo, it’s already updated so Idkk why that happens
Once again thank you for the help.
Anytime !!!
thank you so much!! what's the printing direction? how do you lay it on the bed?
I did not use a special direction.

top video, very easy maintenance after this.
Thank you for the kind words !!!
how can i do this with the sr?
To be honest, I do not know. I have never had the need to use this on my SR...
Is there a way I could get the test print file??..
Sure, here is the g-code file... drive.google.com/file/d/11W2RsWC_Pruv_rSv2Wq6_anhL-q1sjtK/view?usp=sharing
@dennisgignac5103 dang..thanks man!!!!!!!..
This is great information. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words...
Your videos have been such a tremendous help for a 3D printing newcomer and I even created my own playlist of your SR maintenance videos! I am curious though - what nozzles do you use for your SR? I'm running through some maintenance after some wonky prints and it got me thinking about just getting some extras while I'm ordering more grease and filament. Do you use straight FLsun factory nozzles or is there an aftermarket nozzle you like more? Advantages/disadvantages on different bore diameters or materials like stainless steel?
Thank you for the kind words... Hahaha, I use the least expensive from Amazon. www.amazon.com/Volcano-Printed-Filament-Printer-Extrude/dp/B08B5Y3RNN/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3MSLQLIQ9RGNV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.JdrJy6UXkBAFQvaE4RrIqjBqCPYar7IMcwWebj_pMh4K7vPpf39IqPbuWUparZNWOEIHaIYvpMiFUoZLviIg1K666PIqP4PvpkuDEi7rNtB2j5ZBlGfI7OPF-hrNGQW59kObMT2hL9LGnvOTLrPwYTiD9XE32krxmJwopfxubED9fKrBMVr0Vi9YzMRLUN38fHYQlx4XvwpvQxtHaut91h5g3MiBReH-v5qh0-L9rn0.s9R4to9MLXNNGQaD8b4BqQyg6RZ9QI6S9NZJrVUySv4&dib_tag=se&keywords=volcano%2Bnozzle%2B0.4&qid=1711838512&sprefix=volcano%2Bnozz%2Caps%2C88&sr=8-3&th=1 At this price, I change if the prints are looking a little weird...
Thank you so much! EXACTLY what I wanted AND direct and simple!
Thank you for this 😁 my v400 is now set up better than it was out of the box 😂
Awesome !!!
Ho Dennis, how can I tell when it's time to replace the belts? mine has 3000 hours
What about e-step calibration?
I have not done it on the SR. BUT, here is a great video and easy to follow... ua-cam.com/video/Zx8FQzUYgrQ/v-deo.html
I don't know whether you ever did - but did you ever change the tension yourself? Did you fancy making a video on what you learnt you seem quite methodical and you also seem to know when your printers are working well and when they are not - I can only seem to tell when it becomes disastrous...
Yes, I have adjusted my V400 belts. Just the way I show in the video. Nothing fancy. Just make sure they are very snug, NOT overtighten, And make sure they are all the same with that gauge...
@@dennisgignac5103 Hey Dennis, I meant more the physical action of tightening / loosening them, which screws to turn, how to ensure that you are getting balanced tension, do you tension one belt a bit, then move to another, tension that one and move around the belts to ensure that you don't have a single belt with too much tension...any other tips, tricks, issues to avoid that you have found while tensioning your belts.
What Tension/ Hz do you recommend for the Q5?
Do you sugger a grease to use for?
Yes indeed... I use this: Lucas Oil Products LUC10533 White Lithium Grease
Thank you, Ill buy a lith PTFE oil too
Dennis, you’re the man. Thank you for your great videos. I had the QQ S Pro and now the V400 for the past year and I appreciate all of your tutorial videos. I recently replaced on my V400 the heating rod, temperature sensor, nozzle, and filament sensor. I also just ran my input shaper and it is running beautifully now. I am patiently waiting for the S1 to be back on the FLSUN website to order… I can’t wait to see that! Cheers!
Thank you very much Blue !!! I will be adding S1 to my videos as soon as I get mine...
Mines won't go threw
Yes, it will. Have patience and make sure it is straight and cut at a 45 degree angle. And as you are putting it in, wiggle it all around...
What is the reason for only putting the nozzle and throat in but leave 1 thread out because the printer comes with it all the way in please reply i need to know
That is the way I receive them from FLsun and it is the best fit for the silicon boot. Also, make sure it is tight against the throat...
Thank you for the videos on the V400. Have seen so many reviews and only a few concern tuning. Thanks for the file. Will be printing this on my mopdified Neptune 4. The V400 arrives tomorrow. Seems there is a firmware update which I have to kook into as well as this accelerator gizmo. Cheers.
You will LOVE this printer !!!
should it be tensioned perfectly in the center? between 3 and 4?
Yes, somewhere close to the center... The important thing is to do all the legs in the same spot...
Dennis, is the belt tensioner good for the V400 and the Super Racer?
Yes indeed...
@@dennisgignac5103 Thank you very much for the answer and your videos.
Hi Dennis, I really appreciate your videos. I would like you to give me some advice on when, how and with what grease I should lubricate the ball joints on my FLSUN V400. Does the lithium grease work for lubricating the ball joints?
Hi, i have just used the white lithium grease with a seringe because my ball joints werent good lubricated at all, I was trying to get some information about whats the best lubricant for the ball joints and the information I found wasnt so clear and I ended up using the Lucas Oil Lithium grease the same grease that I used for the Rails, but some people said that the use PTFE grease for that, please let me know what you think please and thank you for your videos the helped me so much and made my expirience with the V400 much better.
Yes indeed. You can use the same white lithium grease as the rails. That is what I use and works perfectly...
@@dennisgignac5103 Thank you Dennis for your quick response, another thing I would like to know is what modification your Speeder Pad has, I was searching on the internet and found on Printeables (Flsun Speeder Pad - Ethernet Ed.) and I found the STL files, but apart from the files I Could you say what hardware you use for the fourth USB? I have disassembled my Speeder Pad and it does not have a fourth USB, it only has a hidden micro USB and an audio jack. Thank you so much
Good Video ! Thanks 🎉
Thanks for the video! Wouldn't it be better to shut down the pad first and then switch off the printer? That's what I always do.
That's sad if somone will buy it, they count with 410mm of height print. :/
Great explanation!!! Thank you.
Thank you very much !!!
hello, thank you for your work, what are the printing parameters of your STL file and what material should we use to print the part?
I used eSun PLA+ and set the layer height to .16mm, 3 wall, 20% infill
I recently found out about FLSUN. Probably going to get the S1. Thanks for the videos.
Awesome !!!
This would have been helpful months ago but I figured it out
Awesome !!! Thank you...
I have it set at 390 I’ve messed up a few models at 400
Yes, I did the same...
Great thanks for your vids. Very helpful!
hi sorry if I bother you. I have both the sister racer and the v400, as for the super racer, how long should the straps be? what do you use to find the hertz of the belts? and on which belt do you insert the piece printed in stl? the one that travels free or the one where you rotate it on the pin? Thanks and sorry for too many questions
great stuff! My daughter has saved up enough for her first printer after begging me for last 6 months and is going back and forth between Creality, BambuLabs and FLSUN. Just for her and my own peace of mind since FLSUN now is available officially on AMAZON with free returns will probably go half in on the V400 with her. I see that that newer FLSUN printers are hitting the market but, in your opinion, should she wait a few months to get the T1 or will there still be enough support and updates to the V400 over next couple years that it won't become obsolete over night? Any upgrades, updates or changes you would recommend out of the box. Thank You & Happy New Years to your family!
