  • Hello Folks:
I hope you are all doing well...
Some of you have asked how I perform my calibration and set my "Z" height on my own FLsun Super Racer.
To many of you this will be old news, but to our new SR owners, it may be very helpful !!!
Once again, my little girl Kaili has taken time from her Saturday night movie time to help me produce this video.
Thank you Kaili - You are the best videographer !!!

This is really good advice. I do the same with my printer, testing thst z offset at least 3-4 times. I do the same with estep calibrations as well. As for estep calibrations i just disconnect the bowden from thrle extruder and feed 100m out the bottom after a flush cut. Do the estep calculations, save it and do it 3-4 more times. Really like this video!

I followed this advice on loading filament from your other video. I have NEVER had issues with the extruder and I equate it all to you. Thanks!

The slightly rough to the touch area is the only part of the square that stayed together which means the squish is right and each pass is sticking to its neighbour. The areas where you raised the nozzle so that it felt smooth all came apart and each pass was not sticking to its neighbour which means the squish is not enough.
I get the same effect with my SR, adjust the Z height so it all feels smooth and when you remove it from the bed it all falls apart.

Thank you so much for this video, so clear! I'm saving it in my favorites! At first while printing I couldn't see the differences very much, but when you pulled it off the bed it all got much clearer! I'm subscribing! ^^

This is good info, i wished i knew this before, Ive been messing like a day(or 2) to get it right...but its so simple, i made the mistake to go up a step to make the paper lose again. It was never consistence.

When doing a calibration it measures several points, AS IF it would do a mesh calibration - however, the SR does NOT. It just uses a SINGLE Z-value afterwards (perhaps the average of all, I don't know). So if your heatplate is not absolutely even, it will result in uneven first layers. Lots of SR users seem to have this problem 😫I hope they will fix this by firmare update.

Very good video! I bought a super racer and I'm having problems with the printing, do you have a profile to share? The prints come out half melted or with marked threads, the strange thing is that the test model of the nut that the printer includes came out impeccable, the problem is other stls so I think it is a cure configuration.

Hi, thanks this is great advice, wish I'd seen it when I got my SR a few months ago. I do seem to have bed adhesion issues with my printer, I can't seem to print multiple objects at different places on the bed without some of them coming off in the first layer. Would carrying this out help or is there something else I should do. To note, a singular print on the bed sticks fine (sometimes too well) and comes out nicely but of course, for smaller prints that I want multiple off, it can be a bit wasteful to have to print one at a time.

      Hello Leah:
If this issue is extream, check your belts. Sometimes there is a worn spot on one of the belts. Look good, sometimes the worn spot is hard to see... But I get this also once in a while so I use this !!! Big Smile

@@dennisgignac5103any luck troubleshooting this issue? I too am having a similar issue. During print if I input Z height adjustment the SR makes a strange noise (not heard otherwise) for a period of time, maybe 5-10 seconds? It never appears to actually change distance regardless of how much adjustment input is selected. No issues with printer other than this and it's driving me bonkers lol. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and ideas pertaining to this matter. Also, awesome content and videos (newly subscribed and sharing!)!

Should you have the bed hot (60c) to adjust the Z? I hear but don't know, heating up will expand the plate... is this true

    • @dennisgignac5103
      @dennisgignac5103  Рік тому +1

There is no set value. Once you calibrate, you have to set the z height using a piece of paper and save. Then run a flat test on the first ;ayer then adjust if not perfect...
