Pacquiao and Tank’s Sneaky Angle Move (Split Entry)
This sneaky move can be used as a counter punch or as a pressure fighter’s tactic to attack at angles. You can use it to fight off the ropes or in the center of the ring. It’s a slick, versatile technique to attack and gain an advantageous angular position all at once. Most notably utilized by fighters Manny Pacquiao and Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

It takes a lot of practice and repetition to implement in sparring because you have to count in distance and adaptation to your opponent’s footwork, punches, and style. It’ll be good if you have a sparring partner let you practice it lightly on them to get the feel of it first.

    Excellent, once you slip outside your opponent's stance, they have to reset theirs, leaving you one step ahead at least. You cannot punch hard without taking 3 steps. ua-cam.com/users/shortsTaTpxSj-ks0?si=WAnkjTqtlJ3-OMHL Look at how Mayweather throws his jab, there's a small step with the lead foot, then like a wave, load goes to the back foot, then back to the front along with his punch. His waist turns right, then left, then right again.

    Honestly just my opinion, if i use peekaboo which i do, I would really incorporate something from other styles, for example i might also use some parrying, basic blocking and all that stuff, because sometimes it's better to not slip, so if i could make my peekaboo really great and outstanding, i would genuinely add something else to it, rather than just slipping punches, so it becomes like " alright here i think I'm going to take some shortcuts against this guys, and get in the inside, but now for my defence i might parry his punches and throw some powerful cross or a body shot

    • @coachpillowfists
      @coachpillowfists 2 дні тому

      Yeah if you're gonna use the peek-a-boo in this day and age then it's best to add a little more modern day touches to it instead of trying to fully replicate what worked for Mike Tyson in the 80's.

  • @coachpillowfists

    It’s not the action-packed exchanges, but the passive moments of a fight that truly display the work of art in the “Sweet Science” of boxing. Casuals don’t see the subtle details such as feints, lead hand control, lead foot positioning that go into the pugilistic chess match. Only true fans and practitioners can identify and appreciate! 👊🏽

    I don't feel sorry for a 58-year-old man making $20 million. Sure, I would have liked to see Tyson do what Forman did. The problem with that is that Forman was still relatively young. In my 67-year-old mind, I don't feel any slower until I move. "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face". Mike Tyson. I think Tyson will be better than okay.

    They should have postponed the fight to next year, Tyson almost died a few months ago because of health issue. He was obvious wrong last night, his movements were constrained and his cardio dropped like a flawed battery which is extremely abnormal for a guy who has been training for the same purpose since he was 13. Look at the 54 years old Tyson fighting Jones Jr., that's a normal old Tyson, we should have seen a Tyson like that last night if he was given enough time to recover from his health issue.

    Yo Chris! Great insights! I honestly have no idea who won Serrano vs Taylor because Netflix broke and was buffering half the fight. Everyone says Serrano but Taylor definitely won the second half (That wasn't buffering). It was sad for Mike but I hope he watches this back and realizes it's just not his time anymore. He's an old man who's loved and respected and he can do so much more outside of the ring than in it. He's inspirational to so many people and has so much more to offer. But bro, you're forgetting the greatest fight of the night! GOYAT VS NUNES! Seriously though I have no idea why that was on the main event instead of Bruce Carrington.

    I didn’t expect miracles. I knew Tyson was not winning anything. But 18 punches? 18? I’m a bottom of the barrel amateur, an enthusiast really, and my sparring is longer rounds and even if I’m slow and tired I land more than 18 in 8 rounds. Taylor robbed Serrano. Period. She fought so hard just to get clobbered with head butts. True, Serrano needed to take her time backing up and sizing her up. Frustrating. I said the same thing about check hooks all night. Don’t get me started on the production, the announcers, the guests… super ghetto to me. And then having Paul act ridiculous and then to go on to do some stupid disguised praise for the incoming president just dragged it down even further. Tyson deserved better. Serrano needed to do better but to me she won. And I hope and pray Paul’s next opponent is someone more on his skill level and age so we get a real fight.

    Thanks for the reflection, Chris. There was a huge gap in actual ability between the explosive training clips of Tyson we had been fed and what we saw in the ring. Obviously, for hype, they chose Mike's best days during training and used those clips. Obviously still battling the back and knee issues. And you are 100% on about peek-a-boo being a young mans' style. With all of those years of that torque, his joints are probably all ground down,. I've always thought Cus's desire to make Tyson more appealing to the eye (through peek-a-boo) is one of the main reasons for his explosive peak and then sharp downfall. Tyson said he came off of THC for training,...that probably cut his pain management a lot. It was obvious to me that they had some kind of fail-safe...that the fight was defined as an exhibition between them...and not a headhunter fest...as they hyped to the world. Paul was a gentleman, he pulled back. I had good feels at the end as well. A lot of heart there. Maybe Tyson just needed 6 months of no-fap? 😁

    Yo Chris! I'm gonna have to disagree on this one brother. I think your analysis of Barrios is spot on with his lack of head movement, but I disagree on him being more aggressive as of late. I actually see it the exact opposite. In his fights with Ugas and Maidana, he hid behind a high guard and threw power jabs to time his opponent. He didn't really seem like he opened up at all except the last few rounds and seemed extra conservative especially in the early rounds. I don't like to predict fights because I'm always wrong, but I do think Barrios has a good chance of winning. The real upset would be if Tyson could KO Paul. Here's hoping LOL!

      Aight aight 😂. I don't remember much about Barrios's last couple full fights, but it looked to me like he was getting confident with his power lately. Guess we're thinking 2 different things, but only one way to find out... 😄 We shall see what happens. Seriously though, I think we all hope Tyson does it, but logically this is just that one last big money grabbin payday for him. 😔

      @@coachpillowfists For sure man, we won't know till it's over, then we'll convince everyone we knew all along haha! Yeah for sure. I hope he does better than Holyfield vs Belfort at least.

      @@andyjiang744 For real! 😂 People predict 9 fights wrong then correctly predict the 10th and be like "I told y'all!" 🤣

      I agree with the draw, but I was afraid they were going to lean more towards Barrios cuz he’s the bigger name 😆
