@@coachpillowfistsThe way he pieced up Rungvisai, Cuadras and Estrada is just.. whew! The kid can box, apply intelligent pressure and his punch placement/timing are really amazing
I’m saying! He has to be the most skilled boxer of this generation. It’s a shame he’s not more known to the casual fanbase just because of his personality and weight class alone.
Excellent! I added these to my workout after watching a Mike Tyson fight without fully understanding allthe variations and uses. Thanks for explaining.
Awesome! And yes absolutely there are different styles and variations out there in the use of angles, as with any technique. This is just a couple ways 👌🏽.
One of the best breakdowns I’ve seen for creating angles. It’s good to see clearly the mechanics of it because weight distribution is hugely important to get that leverage effect correct that takes the body around the corner efficiently
THANK YOU for posting this - exactly what I’m learning right now, and I sure need work, but seeing some of these movements shows me I’m on the right track.
I notice when you shift to the left you still remain in orthodox. When I do it, (from orthodox first) I end up in southpaw. Dope video BTW. Saving this to practice on 👍🏾
Hey coach, I’ve been rewatching your videos and utilising angles is probably one of my weak points, do you know any fighters that i can watch that preform the slip shift constantly?
It’s alright too if angles don’t fit well with your personal style of boxing. Tons of big names out there that don’t utilize it as part of their game like Canelo or even a slick footed fighter like Bivol. But I would take a look at Bam Rodriguez for the angles! His stuff is beautiful. Maybe you can look at some of the Mexican American fighters on this video for reference too: ua-cam.com/video/r96ejqIjacw/v-deo.htmlsi=LGfgu6sPPdbskWYZ
When you demonstrated that overhand right to angle shift to the left, it looked super familiar like I just saw it recently. I went back and looked for it and it's what Raymond Muratalla did vs Tevin Farmer in the 10th round. Crazy to see stuff like this applied in a high level fight like that. They need to get you commenting fight too coach!
Dang bro, good eye!! 👌🏽👌🏽 That was solid! And that’d be an interesting experience commentating a fight. I feel like I’d sound cringe at first, but maybe one for the bucket list one day 😂
Can I also do it after I throw my combos because I like to defense of responsible after my punches, so can I just do a slip and angle shift even if they don’t punch
😂😂 Never! Boxing will always be my #1 😆. I work out at a gym called UFC Fit. They got all the weights and stuff I need, but they have a little room with bags which was the only place I was able to record videos with a bag. But yeah, having shoes is so much better 😄. I appreciate it!
You ever see how Lomachenko feints the left cross? He turns his waist to the right which loads up his left leg. Gervontae Davis does this too. It's very subtle. When you walk for instance, if you put your left leg forward, you almost don't notice, but you're turning your waist left to drive your right leg into the ground. Again it's a very subtle and unconscious movement. You might be thinking how is he loading up the left leg if the left cross lands on the right leg, and I'd say, how do you think you pushed yourself onto your right leg? Right as you turn your waist to the right, in that instant, you loaded your left leg. The load on the right leg comes after, but you were too slow to notice.
@@coachpillowfists angle tactics and how to d amato shift of the outside left foot I struggle alot with that but I also find your vids very informative and useful!!
Since most instructional videos on UA-cam are taught by orthodox coaches/fighters, I'd invest some time to figure out how to horizontally flip/mirror flip videos you're watching on UA-cam. Like this for example: www.capcut.com/resource/rotate-a-video-on-youtube. Another option might be to record the video on your computer screen from your phone then flip the video from your phone's recording. This way, you'll be able to see the content as if the person is southpaw if they were originally in an orthodox stance. Absolutely!! Whether you anticipate the opponent to throw or not, it's always good to do the slip or roll instinctively.
