That was really impressive at the start, I used that shuffle move a lot when I trained but you made it look so smooth and clean, mine was downright clunky by comparison.
I appreciate it! 🙏🏽 Everybody looks different, and we all can improve no matter who we are. I notice you said, "trained" in the past tense though. Time to get back to "training" in the present tense! 💪🏽
Coach pillow fists the way they put you to sleep damn, I blame you for making me obsessed with shuffling all the time, I’ll be definitely adding this to my bag. It’s a bit forced when I’m sparring but it flows so smoothly when hitting the bags or shadow boxing, I think it’ll come with practice, thanks for the vid coach
The shuffle is damn useful 🤣. I think if you have a partner who’s willing to either go super light or drill it on him as a partner, you will be able to learn to apply it better in live sparring situations. You also have to set it up right 👌🏽👌🏽. Thanks again!
You’re very welcome, brotha! The elbow is flared because (1) the corkscrewing, (2) it’s getting thrown almost like a hook, and (3) the adjustment of the angle/trajectory from which you’re throwing the punch. Hope that helps better explain!
Geeat vid! I was wondering if you had a tip for getting power on the last straight right when going back a step from a 1-2-3-2 combo? It feels awkward and slow for me after the left hook.
@@coachpillowfists if I throw the 1-2, taking a small step with my front foot as I throw the 2, throw the left hook, then take a step back for the straight right - does that make sense?
Any straight rear hand that you’re throwing while taking a back step will be thrown as you’re stepping with the back foot. This video will better explain it: How to Punch Moving Backwards Like Bivol ua-cam.com/video/kk9QDo0oCJs/v-deo.html. However, you must know that any stepping while you’re throwing the 2 will decrease power. In this case, power shouldn’t be your priority. Speed, timing and positioning is your priority.
Nice video, thanks! With the jab at the start, what's your view on using that jabbing hand to trap their right hand (or creating traffic in some other way) since we are moving towards their power side (assuming orthodox stance)?
@@ThomasToPC Thanks bro! I think it’s an excellent tactic to deter their rear hand. Not the biggest fan of Tyson Fury, but we saw how he took away Wilder’s right hand with it. Many cases in which the boxer takes away the power puncher’s rear hand with that lead hand probe.

Thank you bro! 🙌🏽🤟🏽
I have had a lot of success with this it helps to switch it up and drop in the right to the body if ur opponent adjusts fast

Thanks Chris! Is the elbow flare because if we throw it straight it's likely to be blocked?

Thank you! I’m a little confused on your question. Like when you’re throwing a 1-2-3-2 while stepping backwards?
