I read a few batfamily crossover and i was a fan of Miraculous but when i discover this pairing and read afew fanfic there were the BEST. I started readimg the Bruce is Marinette father then transferred into Damain x Marinette or Marinette x tim drake. Also i read a few whre Marinette is jason todd adopted sister when they were homeless before bruce adopted jason. Marinette fits so well with the different bat son so much when she involved in a paring. I love batfamily x Miraculous crossover so much

I was watching 911 and I was silently hoping that Buck and Eddie would get together but I also love their friendship more so I'm kind of happy they didn't have them get together but I' m excited that Buck came as Bi. When I came out which was in 2014 the only Bi person I saw or ever saw on tv was Magnus from Shadowhunters and he made me feel better about coming out. When I was growing up there were some characters that was supposedly Bi but they were making them comedians like being Bi was a joke or something bad so even though I knew I was into both men and women I was afraid to tell anyone because I didn't want people to think something was wrong with me. Then when I was 39 I saw Shadowhunters and saw Magnus and saw for once a Bi character who was for comedic views and saw that it was ok and it was nothing wrong even though there are still people even in my own family who think there is something wrong with it. I am so happy to see Bi characters like Magnus and now Buck it makes me feel good and very proud to say that I am a Bisexual woman .

From what I understand, the choreographer for the 1998 video production had a backstory for each cat that she told the actors to incorporate, and I am going to assume it came from something specific she got from Webber or past choreographers given HOW specific it was. Specifically I recall her talking about Demeter's choreography for the Macavity song; "He was horrible, I hated him, I hated him--but oh he was amazing when he made love to me" is how Demeter's dance is specifically coded, i.e. Macavity and Demeter are exes. I wouldn't be surprised if Macavity and Demeter were the father of Jemima given her costume looks SO much like Demeter, but her mouth makeup is spiky like Macavity's. Teazer and Mungo may actually be their kids too, but I feel fairly certain Jemima definitely is. The various songs about Grizzabella, her being referred to as "The Glamor Cat", and the theory about her abandoning her children makes it seem much more like she was a feral cat who left her kittens on the street for the comforts of human life and never looked back, because the one thing all these cats have in common is that they're street cats, whether or not they have a human family; they are allowed to run wild, they are allowed to roam freely. Some, like Mistopheles and Tugger, get treated fairly well (possibly by the same owners!) as do Skimble and Jenny and Bustopher Jones. Gus has his place even if he may not strictly have an owner, and for Deut to live as long as he has, it's VERY likely he's either the local stray the entire town loves or owned by someone. Regardless of whether the cats have humans, they all have freedom to roam and come to the junkyard for the Jellicle Ball. Grizzabella, however, implies in a lot of her songs that she left all that for "glamor"--what the hell is glamor to a cat? Probably comfort. Human comfort. Which on its own would not mean anything _if it weren't for the implications that she also abandoned her children in the process._ Her lines in memory further show that she once lived outside, and was beautiful, and that she roamed freely. Either she went with Macavity or she went with humans, but I suspect it was the going with humans and abandoning her children that made it sting so much to the other Jellicles--especially since many of them have humans but none of THEM abandoned their babies in the process. It's extremely possible that this interpretation is colored by my personal theory that Grizzabella is Macavity's _mother_ and not lover, and that is heavily based on the leggings under her coat in the 1998 and original productions and how jagged her tricolor markings are, very much like Macavity's, even if she herself has greyed heavily over the years. But I'm not the sole person to believe she abandoned her children for humans as opposed to Macavity. Also plays into why Demeter tries to reach out, but keeps pulling away--she sympathizes, but then she looks at Grizzabella and sees Macavity in his mother's face and eyes. "You left him, and it made him what he is now--and caused what he did to me." She knows innately Grizzabella isn't responsible for how Macavity treated HER, but that doesn't mean she can necessarily separate them emotionally.

Leo deserved better. Like I think Leo and Karai would have been fine. But then the show was like "THEY'RE RELATED, FRICK YOU LEO" form the corner of the room and was just...why. Why did they have to do that. Like did they forget they had Leo x Karai going?

One big thing with the age difference is that it would have been illegal for Stiles and Derek to have any kind of sexual contact before Stiles would have turned 18 per California law. The age of consent in the state of California where it is said that Beacon hills is located is 18 with no Romeo and Juliet clause. With Derek being 23 and Stiles being 16 when they met, if there were to be any kind of sexual contact or dating, Derek would have been arrested and charged with statutory rape.

You're an adult. The only obligations you have to show up somewhere you put on yourself. If you don't want to go don't. I was so much happier when I truly followed this.

Leo in rise of tmnt acts like a wanna be rich boy

Regarding Leo and Karai, while the part about Splinter being her father is the most problematic, I would like to see the manipulations and "I can fix her" part addressed a bit more. Since it's something I didn't like about their relationship when watching the series (like the girl in the video, I don't like the "I can fix her" trope either). In the first seasons, even though I didn't like seeing it, I could understand it better since Karai acted like a villain and Leo was reprimanded for making up stories and blindly believing in her. Even later, even though Leo still has feelings for Karai, he doesn't trust her and she needs to do something to make the turtles change their minds. However, when Karai becomes an ally is when these manipulations started to feel more unpleasant and out of place to me. Since they constantly occur and are never properly addressed. Even though Karai is supposed to care about Leo, it doesn't stop her from committing actions like that against him, even if at times it is to protect him, it is still unpleasant and shows a damaging dynamic in their relationship. I think that the episode "Broken Foot" was the one that showed the worst part of this. Because despite everything that Leo had done for her and that Karai clearly cares about him, she continues with these manipulations in a very blatant way and even in this case it is not with the desire to protect him but for a selfish reason. (And then she attacks him when he refuses, yes, Karai's character individually seems very poorly developed to me) I am especially bothered by the way Leo is usually reprimanded for giving in to these manipulations, but Karai, even being an ally, does not usually receive a punishment or recriminations for manipulating Leo. It's not like the series treats them as positive either, but the general lack of reaction from the other characters to Karai's actions, with no one supporting or defending Leo for being manipulated, makes it seem as if Karai's actions are also treated as "It's not that big of a deal", when in reality Karai's actions are disastrous and make her relationship with Leo seem more toxic than reciprocal. I would have liked Karai to have, in addition to having a change of sides, also have an arc where she reconsiders her actions and realizes how harmful they were, leading her to recognize the wrongness of her manipulations and stop them. Oh, and to add: Regarding Leo, I see how there are people who tend to defend how he believes that "Karai is good" and that it is something that should be respected. But in my perception, when it is clearly shown not only that this is harmful to him. (Leo in general tends to make up stories or believe things about Karai that aren't true, which leads me to imagine that Leo rather clings to her for what he wants to believe about her than for who she really is, it is noted in moments like when he thought that Karai "wanted out of the Foot Clan and was asking him for help", or when Karai said that Shredder's revenge was going to wipe them all out and that it drove her crazy assuming that she wouldn't care if they got rid of him, or when she blindly believed that Karai had believed her about Splinter being her father for her simple word when she was actually pretending to guide Tigerclaw to the lair. All of those things make clear the illusion he has about her believing that she will simply change overnight.) But in general, Leo never usually has a good argument to believe in her honor or her goodness. She just wants to believe it and she clings to the idea, which makes this stop being a deep-rooted belief in how Leo wants to trust her and believe in her honor, and becomes more of a fantasy idea that Leo has of her and that at the smallest hint that he sees that in her he wants to believe it or he just believes it without thinking about the other possibilities. Not only endangering himself, but also his family. Anyway, I could say that I understand how this problem usually goes unnoticed considering the ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM XD. But anyway I wanted to write it to get some opinion or something, since I feel that it is not usually given enough attention when addressing Leo and Karai's relationship, even if in the series this is left totally unfinished.

i watched cats 2019 the worst way by watching it while extremely drugged after a leg surgery, back in 2020. i am learning TODAY that there was a romantic subplot, i completely missed it. i know i wasn't in my strongest mental state, but holy shit, how do you make something like that have _so little_ impact

For your point towards the end about Cats fans constantly seeking out different bootlegs because we love to see what different people do differently, thats definitely not a thing all musical/play fans do but it IS a huge thing within parts of the Les Mis fandom. I've been in the trenches since middle school and I've seen so many different clip compilations that show the same scene from 20 different productions and masterposts analysing the differences. It's always been one of my favorite elements of the play and the fact that the same can be done with Cats is one of the things that really drew me to it in the first place. As long as I'm able i'll never pass up a chance to see a new production of Les Mis, and the same goes for Cats now too.

I should mention that in this series, Karai is Splinters biological daughter with the turtles being his adopted sons. So Leonardo and Karais relationship could count as incest to an extent.😑 Edit: I ended up writing that before you explained the incest thing.🙃

Bit of a tangent, but Swifties are bizarre. Or I guess anybody that idolizes a celebrity that much. Her singing is good, but not exceptional. Her songs are fine, her acting is okay, but there's nothing about her that seems like she deserves a cult following. People bizarrely just gravitate towards random people that don't seem all that appealing to outsiders. The fact that anyone would have seen a movie deemed awful simply because someone they like is in it is just baffling to me

As a CG artist, the reason it looks weird is because of the blending between the live action actors and the CG additions to their faces. Fur grooms are extremely finicky and having to manually remap a groom to match an actor's facial movement is a HERCULEAN task in and of itself. You essentially have to make a mockup model of the actor's face that the groom is attached to, and it will trigger peoples' uncanny valley reflex. It happens even with subtle changes, like the Superman mustache thing. It also doesn't help that the characters' ears don't work correctly (they don't even connect to the ear canals???). Time crunch combined with weird decisions by the art directors doomed this movie. If you ask me, the only CG elements should have been the ears, tail, and some of the fur on the body. The rest should have been practical.

mention that nobody asked for (idk I just like to yap): there are people who believe that the relation between Karai and Leo in the 2003 series straight up influenced 2012 to immediately ship them. I disagree however because right after season 5 of 03 Karai finally gives Dr Chaplin a chance and they date for the rest of the show. I think that the intention of the dynamic was to show that Leo and Karai are two sides of the same coin. A big example of this is their “depression arcs” in season 4. (I’m sorry if I sound rlly repetitive I’m a 16 year old who prefers multiple texts instead of paragraphs.)

I'll have a yearly watch of the '98 film I have on DVD. I grew up watching my mom's VHS recording of the show. I have a love for this show, I know the songs, I know that cats. And it's so painfully frustrating how so many people now think of the terrible movie when they think of Cats now - people who've never even seen the show. And have this incredulous judgment of liking something so bad and off putting just because of how the movie turned out. I love videos that explain the differences between the two versions of it, instead of just tearing down the movie with 'what a weird thing to have made a movie about at all, no wonder if failed'. It helps a lot to have people who truly know and love the stage production give their input and insight instead of the onslaught of samey videos that came out after the movie. Especially when the videos with actual insight highlight how gay my boy Mister Mistoffelees is with Tugger.

Thank you for emphasizing why this was that much more significant that Buck was bi, specifically (and even more specifically, a bi man). Our erasure is such a thing we're used to, and while we celebrate any and all queer representation in media, getting one 'for us' just feels so monumental every single time.
