S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Heart Of Chernobyl: First Impressions (No Spoilers!)
Howdy Folks! I'm so excited to talk to you, spoiler free, about my first 8ish hours back in the zone. Heart of Chernobyl is absolutely amazing, even with some graphical errors and a crash here and there.
What GSC have done is mature and combine what made the trilogy so powerful, into something modern. Something many developers fail to do. I'm excited to follow this game, and build on the lore videos on the channel. If you're interested, here are the links below.

Переглядів 1,7 тис.Місяць тому
Howdy Folks! Hope all is well! Thanks for checking out this retrospective on STALKER Clear Sky. Clear Sky is the prequel to Shadow Of Chernobyl, a game I absolutely loved. It was interesting to play these games back to back, since you can feel a distinct shift in gameplay, but an almost more focused look at the atmosphere.. very interesting. Anyways, I would love to know what you thought of the...

Howdy folks and welcome, I hope this finds you well! Today, I'll be talking about Valve's new MOBA third person shooter, Deadlock. I've been having so much fun learning the game, and getting better; that doesn't mean it can't be frustrating or infuriating. But I do think that this is one of the best tests for a game I've ever played, so much so, that just having this as a base to work forward o...

Howdy folks, I hope this finds you well! Today I'm reviewing one of my favorite rts games of all time, in its new and "retold" edition. Honestly I don't understand what the difference between remaster, remake, enhanced, etc.. but I do know that AoMR is absolutely made with heart and soul. Howdy folks and welcome! I hope this finds you well! Today, I'll be exploring the Zone, detailing its long and infamous history, as well as talking about the different areas within the Zone. *Edit 10.18.24: I do use GAMMA for the footage, since it was easier to compile said footage with using the console codes and faction starts. I do not mention this in the video, and some have rightly brought...

Yo 2nd view lets go
Please review Core Keeper if you haven't yet. Loved your grounded review
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to check it out! I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch my content and comment! Means a lot! Hope all is well!
I love the lore and seeing the individual units but I am dog water online. I just play campaign lol!
Same here : ) whatever floats our boats!!
There are Librarians, werewolves, bears, bats, insects, spiders, military zombies as well as male and female unarmed zombies amongst others
There's a rocket launcher in the area underground in the first lab, and one in the factory in the Dark Valley.
If you play the mod game Stalkersoup, you will find all the mutants plus others
The best form of defence against aggressive rodents is gaining height to any place they cannot reach. Headshots are usually most successful and saiga shotguns ideal weapons at close quarters
I’m sure I’m going to be jumping maniacally on boxes today for HoC : )!
Freedom was not chased out by bandits. It's absurd. Freedom moved to Military warehose following its capture
They get targeted by mercenaries that use bandits and their own soldiers to take freedom out. You can see the change from Clear Sky to SoC
the audio is a bit too quiet
Howdy! Thanks for commenting! Was it a particular part? Or the whole video? What device and audio were you using?
Wicked video 👌
I appreciate it! Is your profile picture the fallout character from one of the first two games? Ahaha regardless thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! Hope all is well!
You just got a new sub , great video 💪
Thank you so much : ) lots on the channel at your convenience! Hope all is well and I appreciate you taking the time to watch as well as comment!
Starcraft has always been with me since my youth, my father introduced it to me and I loved it ever since. However, he introduced me to Starcraft 2, not Starcraft 1, I’ve always loved the campaign, and custom campaigns too, I’ve played through 3 player versions with all my friends and now I run Coop with them all the time. When the cartoony starcrafts was released, i instantly bought it, played 1 mission, and the sucky pathing pushed me away. Fast forward years later, I’ve beat Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars, and now I might give Starcraft 1 a second chance gameplay wise. I’ve always been interested in the lore so this video was extremely entertaining
Thank you so much for sharing this! I’m about to finish StarCraft II for the retrospective and came in with no expectations, which was great because the game was awesome that way! I always loved it back in the day too! I would play the original! It’s really cool and some hard mechanics for the time, but if you get it down, it’s so rewarding!
Great video to get back into it :) less then 24 hours! Good job with the montage.
You skipped the best part of Mengsk's speech
Which part is did you think was the best?
@@Dog.Dad.Studios From this day forward, let no human make war upon any other human. Let no Terran agency conspire against this new beginning. And let no man consort with alien powers. And to all the enemies of humanity, seek not to bar our way. For we shall win through, NO MATTER THE COST!
@ great line, even ironic with what happens in StarCraft 2! Thanks for sharing this!
@@Dog.Dad.Studios thats why Mengsk is so fun Hes a big old hypocrit
15:00 They dont even make manuals anymore
If you ever wonder why old Starcraft works is cus it was a passion side project Thy had that Chris fella just doing it for himself then thry adapted it into a game
playing through SOC with Gunslinger Addition (i just wanted animations for food and drinks and this is the purest vanilla SOC mod pack with those.)
That’s awesome!!
Does GAMMA change much about the timeline of events? Maybe i'm remembering things wrong, but the order of events you put into this video feels kinda off somehow. I'm currently replaying the original trilogy on Switch, so i'll see how it fits over the next weeks.
Gamma complies certain missions but I believe their story is all made up. Like for the usual factions, you meet up with Doc at first, which is something you don’t do in any of the trilogy.
Chornobyl* not Chernobyl
Correct, but kind of. The original game "Shadow of Chernobyl" was spelled that way because of differences in Ukrainian and Russian romanisation. Russian romanisation spells it "Chernobyl" whilst Ukrainian people say "Chornobyl". It's suspected that the name of the first game was changed following the current war between the two nations, and is why the latest game uses the Ukranian romanisation. It makes sense anyway since GSC is a Ukranian studio.
Says Chernobyl on the box
I didn't realise that your stalker videos combined are two and a half hours long. You really put great effort to these masterpieces. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!! It’s really a cool thing to see tangibly! I’m excited to do it with series that have multiple games. Something I’m taking from another creator ( putting retrospectives together). I’m honestly so surprised this one has done well after just a day! Crossing my fingers it’s a sign for things to come
I guess that I'm a "Stalker tourist" due to only getting into the series in late Covid lockdown in 2021, and with "vanilla"Anomaly as a 1st experience instead of the original games... well, it was hard to not give a go first with the full map model From all the factions, Duty, Mercenaries and Monolith are the ones who got most of my attention Duty being a paramilitary militia to keep somewhat sorts of order in the zone due to governmental incompetence Mercs being the "Cooler Loners" with good equipment and being some sorts of Boba Fetts of the Zone. Say, need some God forsaken document from a Soviet era bunker filled with demons? Hire us. Need some rival nation scientist killed? Hire us. The prime minister of Germany need some artifact to stop his hair loss? Hire us too. Monolith being the evil Giga Chads capable of ultimate violence, with top end armor and weapons with near to none explanation of how they acquire it, while mumbling non sense and worshipping a rock
We're all equals in the eyes of the Zone; no matter how or when we get into the franchise : )! Those were my favorites as well, but I am excited to see how far Freedom has taken over in the Zone.. Thank you so much for writing all of this, I truly appreciate it! Wishing you the best, and see you in the Zone soon S.T.A.L.K.E.R.!
Very nice info ! Looking forward to the sequel ;)
I appreciate you taking the time to write this and watch my video : )! Thank you!! It means a lot!
When I saw the door banging again, I legit did a danny devito head shake and said "nope". That door can remain closed lol
I hope you started blasting once the door was opened ahahah 😂
Privet Bra! I love these lore breakdowns, I didn't realize how much I missed the zone. I think we'd be friends if we met around a campfire with some grilled flesh. Stay safe out there Stalker!
I’ll drink a shot of vodka and eat some baguette and salami with you any day : )! Thanks for the kind words!
It was a pretty good video. I can't wait for the Labs explained video.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this! I’ll be waiting for stalker 2 since I’m sure we’ll be able to get to new labs, and find connections with old ones. Definitely coming though : ) Hope all is well!
how about anomaly?
What specifically about it?
@@Dog.Dad.Studios opinion etc, you've done a play thru' to get into stalker 2 mood? im aware its just a collab of the three games modded to oblivion but still :D
@ I might do a playthrough at some point, they have a cool story line that’s akin to the trilogy, maybe get a bit narrative with it. I reviewed gamma as my first video ahaha, so there’s that. We’ll see what stalker 2 brings as well! Much more to come : )
You can actually meet three burers in yanov. Two in the unidentified mutant quest and another one is at the bunker place, where a note from sokolov is
Thank you for this!
Welp, you just earned my sub. Keep up good work. o7
1:35:52 something else just occurred to me. It's HIGHLY convenient that the Emission didn't start until AFTER Strelok's Psi protection was disabled by Scar. Like bruh.
What do you think this means??
41:13 oh my god. I died so many times here.
Ahahahah it’s one of those spots!!
37:51 something I absolutely ADORE about areas with high levels of Psi energy is the ambience. That creepy ambience of whispering voices you can make out but only just enough so as to not understand what they're actually saying. I really hope S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 brought that back
I’m there with you! Maybe someone turned back on the miracle machine or brain scorcher! Hell maybe we didn’t even find the biggest emitters!
35:51 I was still going through my backlog at the time and so rushed it and I really wish I hadn't. I could've gotten the true ending. I had all the necessary pieces minus the door code
29:52 I really wish they'd kept this voice actor for Strelok. That exhausted sounding "to the North" really worked.
I didn’t even realize he was a different voice actor from SoC to CoP!
@Dog.Dad.Studios all three games use a different voice actor funny enough. I can only tell because in Clear Sky his voice sounds slightly higher than it did in Shadow of Chernobyl. And in Call of Pripyat it's way deeper
28:19 you know, now that you've mentioned lighting, this game's horror side does remind me of Dead Space a little.
25:00 I kinda hope they explore that side of S.T.A.L.K.E.R a bit more in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. I'm a HUGE lover of Science fiction and S.T.A.L.K.E.R is such a unique blend of that as well as two of my other loves, being first person shooters and nuclear disaster stories. Judging from that one ARG they did and a bit of what they've shown us of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2's story, I get a feeling that's exactly what we're gonna get. I'm honestly so excited
19:56 oh god. Pseudogiants in SoC were broken. I hated fighting them.
Monstrous creatures!!
18:56 this game made me respect (and really despise) snorks. Especially later on in the game. Talk about an ammo dump 😭 I went to a lot of places very poorly prepared on my first playthrough this year back in June and paid the price for it. Made for some really memorable moments though.
It gets the game to be on a different level, when ammo, therefore safety is scarce. After years of playing the original trilogy, I think I'm a decent survivalist; looking forward to getting absolutely decimated by the Zone this time around. Which game was your favorite?
@Dog.Dad.Studios tie between Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky. Both games had some really good set pieces. My girlfriend watched me play through the ending section of Clear Sky. I did end up playing it modded though cause I really didn't like the weapon balance lol. Shadow of Chernobyl though was just so memorable. I distinctly remember going through X16 with only pistol ammo because I didn't learn from my X18 adventure lmao. Something I love about every end game section is just how much of an effort you have to put in because of Monolith and how it actually feels like not only a desperate fight for survival, but also a desperate attempt to break through their forces to get to the final objective.
11:13 "I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows Strelok"
Was just looking for something interesting to watch. I love long form stuff
Thank you so much : )! I’ve got a good bit on the channel, so at your convenience! Hope all is well!
@Dog.Dad.Studios I'm doing well. Thank you ❤️🩹
Great video bro! I'll see y'all in the zone 🫡☢️
Thank you so much! I’m so excited to explore the zone again and have it feel familiar and also new at the same time! Wishing you all the best! Don’t forget to bring vodka and a baguette : )
I'd assume the Monolith "towers" are just tributes they built, notice they say "Oh Monolith we can't hear you" while praying to it. The C-Con is gone so they no longer hear the Monolith, their building the towers or Shrines is a better word, in order to try and re-establish contact with the Monolith.
