I feel like this is a game that needs true fans, like you, to review for newbies to understand. Nice work! I'm loving it so far, I've been playing all day.
I appreciate your kind words, I’m so excited to talk about this game for years to come as well as regularly scheduled programming : ) So glad you’re enjoying it! What’s your favorite spot so far?
Only played a few hours last night but overall I enjoyed the time spend in the zone, and I'm rather new to the series. First a quick tip for those yet to start, in the intro before you plant the last (third) scanner, drop your gear in the house next to the scan site. It won't disappear, trust me it will help with the early game growing pains. As far as modifications/fixes there's only a few so far, most of which other people have also pointed out. Such as the stick drift on controller, enemy spawns, and such. But for me (a console player) I also want the inventory system to me addressed, I have to move block by block, and can't quick jump between loot-gear-inventory, which is a huge pain. Yes I know I can quick move but it self organizes in a manner I hate, I would much rather a quick select between loot-gear-invetory and for the cursor to be free floating like a pc cursor. As DD said the kill times feel off (I'm playing on Stalker dif) the ttk for the player should match the npc, atleast if equally amored using similar weapons and ammo.
Played about 3 hours, only real issue i have is the performance but other than that, awesome game. Feels like stalker. And i really enjoyed testing the AI and glad to see it can be really smart and actualy tries to preserve their own life instead of Bull rushing the player. One minor thing that i also miss is the PDA chatter from random stalkers but that can be forgiven.
Yeah performance will get fixed hopefully, I had bad fps in each town, and I could feel unreal engine churning ahaha 🤣 I got assaulted by I want to say 10 people, yes 10, it was wild. They used flanks and grenades, not as bad as clear sky ahaha. Oh and yeah not hearing the chirping is sad, plus hovering over people doesn’t give you their rank.
It’s so much fun, and in depth, which I love! It’s a great mix of what made the trilogy amazing and for a modern audience! Yeah I died to a bloodsucker in the cave about 20 times 😂
@ ahahahahahah I love that. I laughed when the premise was what it was to get him into the zone; like damn dude, no insurance policy? Jokes aside, I love the deadpan nature, and there’s a lot of wild people I’ve met so far that I’m glad he’s had those reactions. Such a good game already, I’m doing all the side content too
Unfortunately, I don't really have time to play the game but it's good to hear your thoughts and read other people's opinion in the comments. Great video as always, keep it up!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to check it out! I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch my content and comment! Means a lot! Hope all is well!
It’s okay, some points I’ve had really great encounters with stalkers and the firefights have been epic. Other times the ai is pretty slow and the mutants aren’t great. They’re aware of the issues and will begin finding solutions, but from my experience thus far, it’s nothing egregious
Im still in the first 4-5h playtime, which people say it will get alot better, but am very disappointed by the english voiceover and story in general so far. Really felt like any generic rpg game in that regard. Might be a stupid request, but I need eastern eu accents. When I hear a Irish man in my zone its no problem, but give me a backstory that explains it. If I just switch to Ukrainian Voice it gets annoying, cause so much relevant dialogue plays in the background and I have to stand still and read subtitles.
Yeah I agree with you and say it in the video as well; I’ll be switching over to the Ukrainian VA after my first play through. One thing I’m not a fan of is mutants only attacking the player and not other stalkers. It was always fun to bring bloodsuckers into camps but now they’ll only attack you. I’m sure it’ll be fixed. But yeah the Irish guy solder I think through me for a loop
@@Dog.Dad.Studios I got used to Ukrainian subtitle reading now and its ok, I just wish I never heard the Harry Potteresque english va before. +30%immersion, -15% convenience. Mutants seem like the most disliked change from old Stalkers so far.
Yeah i started with english and something just felt off. I switched to ukrainian voices and it felt a bit better and then it hit me. It is the mix of corny eastern european accents and native language(russian/ukrainian)that is missing. Where i live they only dub stuff for children and everything else is subtitled so reading is not a problem. Im about the same 4-5h in and i have to say that im liking the game so far but not loving it. Feels kind of floaty and textures are a bit mushy ( i have it set on high but maybe it is a problem on my end). There is a pretty big bug right at the beginning that i don't know how they missed and a bunch of open world jank that has to be expected
Been playing for 12 hrs, I'm hooked. The world is so much larger, more detailed & rife with fresh experiences, areas and characters!
Isn’t the world wild? I think only elden ring had me gasping when the map was fully revealed. I want to know what’s to the north of the zone!
It is beautiful indeed, glad the reception for this one is mostly positive
I’m so happy for GSC, couldn’t imagine how much relief I would feel!

Something I REALLY appreciate is the way quick slots work. Imo it is SO much better than the way the trilogy did it

Definitely enjoying this a lot! Got lucky and found a AK with scope but be warned imo veteran difficulty is no joke

@ I got destroyed by the invisible mutant at the start
@ what’s one of your favorite things so far?
@ so far it’s Skif and how he comes off in some of the dialogue options when your just aren’t trying deal with people’s crap😂
@ ahahahahahah I love that. I laughed when the premise was what it was to get him into the zone; like damn dude, no insurance policy?

As always I appreciate you : )!
7:42 he says as he spams a bunch of grenades lol. Jk. For real though. A lot of my deaths in SoC were due to my impatience lol
Please review Core Keeper if you haven't yet. Loved your grounded review
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll have to check it out!

Im the only one who has only 30fps max at Zalissya
Nope I chug when going into traders, I’m sure they’ll patch it soon
How is the AI?
