No Worries. Start with just the fluffy/fatty stuff that burns easily and then fold it in over itself once you got enough smoke going and blow puffs through it to ignite the flame and once that is going well enough set it down were you want it and start putting more material on and then your small sticks and twigs and so on. That's all. It doesn't need to be fancy, just effective. Cheers.

I make axe handles from logs. No power tools. That curve is for appearences only. A four pound axe head on a slightly curved handle does the trick. Heavy duty tho, I use it as a maul

I hung a few axes. I still like to watch videos like this though. Just to see if people do some of the things I do. Maybe I need reassured 😂. You give very and good , clear instructions. I believe "hanging it proud " is the best way. I've done both. No need for a steel wedge on a proud hung handle. You can clearly see it's better imo. I kinda rounded mine on my Keen Kutter double bit . It's still proud though and looks good. I'm gonna stop using glue. I came to that decision the hard way. 😅

Yesterday, I tried cutting down a walnut with an axe for the first time in my life. The footing was poor on a slope, and there's no one in Japan who cuts down trees with an axe, so I tried it but thought it was stupid. Also, AGDOR's HRC rating is only 55-58, which is pretty random. The blade gets crushed as soon as it hits a rock. I guess that's just how Swedish steel is. The axe itself is well made, though. Luckily it worked well even with a cheap 35-year-old chainsaw.

Beautiful axe and mask. I recently hung my first tazzy, and the handle split just like yours, as I was taking down a live oak. I repaired it with wooden dowels, and it's been holding up strong. I posted a video on my youtube if you're interested.

I've just acquired a vintage Diamond Edge boys axe. I've only took the spit handle off so far. It's in good shape. I have nothing to compare it to except for a cheap Truper boys axe , but the Diamond Edge is quite a bit beefier than the 2 1/4 lb Truper. I picked the Truper up at a hardware warehouse that I work at very cheap. I haven't used it yet , but it's a hundred times better than the new True Temper boy's axe . That's for sure. 😅 The same day I got the Truper someone gave me the Diamond Edge. Actually before I bought it. I only paid $16 and some tax though. 😅
