Thank you so much Kurt !! Yeah man I really enjoyed chopping with it, I feel like felling with one might be more fun. I think even though I enjoyed this I think I like bucking with a single bit a little more.
Love those long log shots of all the notches. Since I popped my swamped on a 29” handle I love it. Doesn’t bother me at all swinging it like it does some, although I will say gotta be careful sticking that thing in a stump. Damn edge sticking out nearly disappears to the eye somehow. Happy chopping in 2023!
Thank you !! I’m happy you noticed and my brother will be extra happy 👍 he’s like dude you need more angles 😂 yeah this is a 30” handle but after it’s hung it’s just shy of 29, it’s 28 and change. The handle had a very long eye so I was able to come down quite a bit. Yeah that’s a great point, when I stick that thing in a tree or stump I try not to walk near it. I know it’s tedious but maybe it’s worth putting one side of the sheath on if I’m going to me moving around it a lot .. or just lay it on the ground I suppose. Happy chopping 2023 to you as well !!
Enjoyable video! I don't own a double bit and have had very limited experience with one but totally agree there is something magical and romantic about their look. You seem to swing it well.
Thanks Kevin !! Yeah man I never tried that before m, but it sure was fun. I had to laugh to myself after rewatching that section. I believe it was the first for second split and the axe got stuck in the grounded log and I couldn’t figure out which foot to kick it off the axe with 😂 oh yeah this axe is going into the regular user axe section lol never getting rid of it !! Thanks again man !!
Another excellent video that makes me want to get out there in the woods! Much like you I've only used crusiers as far as double bits go. I've got a nice old craftsman round logo on got at a flea market last summer. Perhaps it needs to move higher up on the list to hang! 👍
Thank you so much man !! Yeah cruisers are def awesome, I like to use them. Man wait till you hang that full size and use it, it really is something special !! Heck yeah round logo craftsman that’s awesome !! That was my first double bit, I got it the same way. Aaaannnnd then I gave it to a friend 😂 never did get to use it. I think the round logos are super old like 1930s of something !! Can’t wait to see you out there with it man 🤙
Doubles aren’t my favorite to buck or limb with. They are cool for felling, but that entire extra cutting face on it makes me nervous. Lol call it PTSD from the injury I sustained earlier, but one cutting face is enough for me 😂
Oh man I can totally see that, honestly I never thought of that. On every back swing you’re kind of swinging a razor sharp bit at your face !!! Great now I’m going to be thinking about that next time I use a double bit, it’s prob a good thing you brought that up now I’ll be more conscious of that !! Ahh man yeah i feel like it would be so badass felling with this axe. Maybe next one tree challenge I do I’ll use the double bit and the Connie !! Yeah man I remember I can’t believe you knelt down on that axe .. that’s rough man !!
Nice work Joey! There's definitely something cool about doubles. Never used one, but they're just cool

You said it, a double bit makes you look around for trees to fall lol.
do like a simple watch and chop style video. Just enjoy seeing people working!
Same

Sweet axe and great chopping. That’s the perfect job for a swampers axe. I believe they were meant for rugged work.
Thank you so much man !! It felt awesome to be out there using the swamper axe 🤙 I’ll definitely be out there using it again in no time !!

Thank you so much !! I couldn’t have said that better myself, I think magical and romantic are excellent words to explain the double bit !!
Some good splitting there. I like the assembly line style. I do that too lol. Don’t ever sell that axe. She’s a beauty!

Sick Joey.!!! That thing is evil, I can't believe the chunks that thing throws and how far they fly.
That grizzly and winch works pretty good too. 🪓
Hell yeah !! Thanks dad 🤘🤘 oh this thing he no problem popping chips !!
Something to the geometry of a double bit that makes them a nice axe to chop with
Thanks for watching !! I agree the axe seemed to feel very balanced 👍
