it's not a bad idea, although since the dagger is short range, and shield slam literally throws your opponents across the map, might not be a great strategy to create that space and then have to close the gap again!? food for thought!

I thought he played well, and am happy to get beat by people who in my opinion have something to teach me. that guy had great jump tech, and spaced me perfectly around the door to the jail.. I wish I had played calmer or a bit more sneakily.. better luck next time vs. such a strong opponent!!

@@YourBoyBlinn I would still report players like that with asian names just in case. I wake up everyday to 1-2 “player x was banned”. No really good ranger runs into a hallway like that. Not to mention it was 100% black where you were. No potions and nothing on you shines in the dark. But I commend the desire to see the best in players

@@ray1170 I really try not to make judgements based on perceived ethnicity in player names, coz that's not fair IMO, but now that you mention it, it was pretty dark in that corner where I was healing haha.. and like I said, that fight did teach me about some jump tech in GC, and after playing this map for like 800 hours, that's interesting to me!

no, unfortunately the half-block does not reduce incoming damage, to my knowledge at least -- which is a bit sad, but a hit is a hit! as for the horseman's axe: the range is a bit short for my tastes and I don't like the -25 move speed penalty.. and viking: it's not a bad sword, but swing slower than I like, so I feel it's less effective against the fast-attacking dagger/rapier classes. good luck out there!!!

yea it was nerfed, and then got a small buff (with the 3 phases of sprint) -- so I do still reco it for solos, since movespeed is absolutely essential in that format :)

@@YourBoyBlinn I'm working on getting the Yeti's down too. You can side step their charge, and to dodge their 1-2 combo do a counter-clockwise circle strafe (your right), but you need to jump the first attack. Needs some space and practice, which i'm still failing at it some times.

I always imagined it as a super hard shield to use vs. the proper/full swing. but stuffing.. I can't wait to try it out more! oh and good call about the jumpcrouch block with the buckler too!!

I do use sprint, but almost always to close the gap. don't like to 'waste' it mid-fight in case my opponent decides to turn & run (they often do). which is why you don't see me popping it just to help with spacing :)

I believe so! it should say action speed towards your next action (which can be applied to an attack, if that's the first thing you do after successful block!)

​@@YourBoyBlinni suspect that the initial intention was for it to make you stronger vs chained heavy weapon attacks or multiple attacks, since there already is a perk for counterattacking. Except the movement bonus, i would say this perk does a better job than the counterattack perk at counterattacking, since the 50% vs 10% is incredibly much faster.

@@matt-z5j haha yeah totally. never thought of the 50% action speed bonus as a means to help fighters chain fast blocks.. but of course! maybe it's because I always counter attack after the first block, I rarely try (or need) to chain multiple blocks together, but the situation you described makes good sense! thanks!!
