I liked his video until it reminded me of how I lost my best high roller warlock kit trying to learn PvP at 18:15. I didn’t even get to try it out before I lost something I haven’t been able to get back to. This was also after losing 50k in gear without a single win on my fighter. Love this game

yay! PvP is definitely one of the most difficult aspects of the game (totally different than fighting mobs haha) and also the most fun/rewarding in a lot of ways (in my opinion). it takes time and there's lots to learn, so stick with it.. so happy to hear this content has helped you get a better understanding -- come back and tell me how your PvP progress is going in the weeks ahead!

Bro 18:10 seconds in that was me with my most geared warlock kit my first time trying to PvP and you just made me give up on warlock PvP. I’ve never been able to get to that move speed again on warlock. hay great videos you've been bringing to us any thoughts you might to a tier list on what weapons that are easy/hard to block or something like that would be cool for new players to know what weapons they should or shouldn't be scared of!
Weapons like the bardiche and warmaul can stagger u, possibly letting the attacker get additional hits. Long poking attacks like spears,long sword, zwei, bardiche, even rapier can stab through ur shield even when blocked depending on the distance, so bait/tank the stabs then block the non stabs. Other than that every other weapon is pretty easy to block.
Same kind of thing with the doorway tip. But if you find where the ranger has placed their trap, you can use it against them by making them repeatedly jump over it. 8 times out of 10 they run into their own trap by the third time they are forced to jump it.
yeah I'm starting to consider it, just got to get used to the idea of not having the Fighter shield perks... buckler can work, but offers much less coverage. we'll see how it goes in the new season!!
activating perfect block will give you roughly 6 seconds of increased impact resistance. you can see your shield will glow slightly during this time! you'll also see a small active icon above your healthbar that clockwipes to show the duration of the buff :) block your heavy melee opponents while the buff is active!
@@YourBoyBlinnyou probably know this already but there’s this tech called desync block or something and if you can time it correctly you fully counter barbs and any other heavy impact weapons. Maybe you can include that in the advanced guide 👍 From my perspective you are already expert level

the only reason is that I prefer the utility of the oil lantern (if I need to illuminate a small part of the map for some reason, like looking for a dead rat body haha) since I typically dont carry torches, and the explosive bottle doesnt have great light range when trying to use it as a torch :)

I tried shield today and I was fighting a barb whenever he would hit the shield I couldn't attack for a little while why is that? I have all the same perks etc as you
what weapon was the barb using? typically the heavy 2-hander have a high impact power. if the weapons impact power is greater than your shield's blocking power, you'll be staggered and have to wait for that stagger to resolve before you can attack. I use the skill 'perfect block' to boost up my shield's blocking power and prevent this stagger from happening!
yeah because SDF pooped out the melee combat system over a weekend and hasn't touched it since early 2023... sadly it seems he's more interested in making Dungeon Counter-Strike™ and doesn't care about actual hand-to-hand combat. SAD FEELINGS
hey welcome & good question! maces I find are more versatile because of the native armor pen. I spent a LONG time running arming sword exclusively and realized that fighting vs any armor was always an uphill battle. started enjoy more success after switching to the mace. also, with the perks shield mastery & counter-attack, the mace attack speed is greatly increased AFTER a successful block.. so because I always try to block first & counter-attack, this makes the mace a DPS machine! hope this helps & hope to see you around!!
Okay so update for the day 1 progress, i found fighting barbs, warlock and rangers to be the easiest currently, with a strong emphasis on timing and proper strategy otherwise i lose, im still struggling a lot but with that i feel im getting a grasp on the patterns of weapons and how to react accordingly, still struggling tho, will update tomorrow too
nice! yeah an important early step is being able to anticipate attack patterns of different weapons. also it's good to expect to lose a bunch as you get your feet wet.. it's difficult to put your shield in the right place every time, and I still struggle after many many months of practice!! haha
@@YourBoyBlinn so I've taken a bit of a different approach with my game play, I tried different weapons and came to the conclusion that the Morningstar or flanged mace are the weapons I have the most success with, but there's one issue, I over commit to the second hit which gets me killed, the falchion is too slow, and doesn't work well in doorways, but otherwise I've made a lot of money from this, roughly 7k gold, the 250 ping and desync is still a bit bad for me but I'm learning, um personally I think the thing that takes the most time is blocking attacks where I am forced to predict when someone will attack and where, keeping it up tho, I'm now at 700 hours of game play
@@robynoosthuizen3319 sounds like you're doing great! on the right track, and glad to hear you've found some success with the maces -- and yes, the MOST DIFFICULT part of being an effective shield fighter is self-control. this is the hardest part for me still, and i'm at 1.35K hours... you really have to go 1-for-1, make sure you block first, and only go for 1 hit after the successful block! keep it up & keep in touch!! :)
It makes u happy everyone is playing fighter is not the word id use... to learn HOW TO is one thing, to have a class thats just overall in a better position against everyone and has no HARD COUNTERS (only soft counters) isnt what makes me happy.

The game balance has always been terrible since I started playing. If you want better gameplay it’s been the way to just go into normals with squire kits and that’s sad.
it will never be balanced perfectly and even if it takes one hour for someone to find a way and break it again its just needs to be similar enough right now its actually better than ever (they still got a long way to go though with balancing of course)

These videos are useless to me because in game nothing actually works this way....I can be a rogue with a bunch of move speed buffs with my weapons put away, and I can't catch up to a wizard with weapons out who is also weaving in attacks .... Yet I see vids like this with a fighter weapon and shield out, swinging, but also catching up with a running away opponent with no weapons out..... Zero sense
the fighter perk counter-attack gives a movespeed bonus on successfully block. that bonus also scales the sprint ms bonus, so if you sprint then block, you can go mega fast :) but I agree, movespeed in general needs reconsideration that I doubt IronBuckler will ever do. RIP!

the fighter perk counter-attack gives a movespeed bonus on successfully block. that bonus also scales the sprint ms bonus, so if you sprint then block, you can go mega fast :) but I agree, movespeed in general needs reconsideration that I doubt IronBuckler will ever do. RIP!
