I have done this to my oil cooler the same way with a ratchet strap. But the oil filter side of it isn’t all the way touching the little nipple sticking out like yours did. I’m not sure if it’s all the way on there or not but it won’t go any further with the ratchet strap.
In my experience they should touch the nipple. Did it bolt back on the motor?
Great job
Nice
Cool
Cool
Go check out the full video. Link below. Thanks for watching.
Why the hell would you lift it at the leaf spring brackets instead of the clearly open frame rail… you are trying to die. Or have a huge lawsuit.
@@KngKurd Because sometimes I'm an idiot and tend to have to learn things the hard way.
@@mechanicgray be safe my guy, I have a shop and already know how fast shit can go south
@@KngKurd Yes sir. I know 👍
Use a pipe wrench in case you don't have that special tool. Just had a 6.0 vortex that snapped a water pump bolt. Had to take off the bracket for alternator and p/s. Had only an inch. Took a couple tries but the PIPE WRENCH never fails!
@@joedso9710 Great tip. Never thought of that.
WELCOME! Hope this helps someone. Please like and Subscribe. Sorry about the audio.
I always put grease on the drill bit and the tap to catch most of the shavings
Thanks for the video, you convinced me to donate the van 😅
Lol.
Do you have a video of reinstalling this 6L80 or similar transmission?
I do not sorry. Same process just reverse.
Hi. I'm really stupid. I almost have the transfer case out. When I put this f*cker back together, is there a master spline to line up from the transmission to the transfer case?
Of course it’s a jeep
Love my p71 tho would never give up the 4.6 best thing I’ve experienced lol
Did this one time. Happened 3 times before I tore head off and seen my piston was snapped from rod
Dang
Так опасно для жизни!
What if I don’t have a flush machine? Any other way to flush it? Planning on dropping it myself and having it rebuilt and putting her back up
Replace the original cooler which Is part of the radiator or put a external stand alone cooler on it. There isn't a good way to flush them without a machine.
@@mechanicgray dam, I wonder if I can rent one, thanks!
@@prestonjames1001 yeah I don't know about that. Good luck.
16:55 great uncut video of the trans, thank you. Question do you need to learn/read the old trans and write to the new one on the 6L 80?
Yes. If you change the transmission it needs to be programmed.
First of all whobthe fuck showed u how to put a car up on a lift put it the fuck down and add the arms on the fraim on the truck and list if u need add spacers for the arm ur lift shulda had some i see there screw adjustable.....dont ever lft from suspension or anywere els outher than the fraim hard part or the bolt on a car
Bruh the guy likes every comment and refuses to explain WHY DID YOU DO THAT?
I was trying to adjust the arm. I do stupid things sometimes. 🤷
А еще одну лапу выбить слабо?
What about the other side
I did the other side before this one and it worked perfect. After this I set it down and put it on the frame.
Not safe at all. If you look in the dictionary a picture of this idiot is right next to the word stupidity. Mechanics dont lift shit up by the suspension. Get out of that shop before you hurt yourself.
Cool
Rubber pads.
Well unsafe operation is never safe
Bad ass video man got quoted 5 grand total for a rebuild on mine
Prices are crazy. But that sounds about right.
Am gonna have to get a air hammer now.
It's important that it has a good trigger. 👍
Seriously! now you just made something even more dangerous why not put it back on the ground and use the proper lift points instead of being an idiot and creating a dangerous situation by hitting one of the arms out (also those arms should have locking pins so they dont swing off the ground)
I agree
I’d throw that stocker away and put in a 2nd gen
Always check before you lift
Then why did you do it
Dumb as$ moment. 🤦
How about instead of you banging on it with a hammer you lower it and reset it.
I deff won't do that again.
Moron one way to get crushed
Darwin award
I've pulled my transmission several times and am about to do it again for a rebuild. It always takes longer. I don't have a lift so I am stuck doing it on the ground which adds a lot of getting up and down off the ground. The standing up and laying down is the worst part of having to do it. I like the order you did the removal, so I will likely incorporate that into how I do it this weekend.
I agree. Doing this on the ground is twice as hard. Good luck. 👍
How come your hoist arm isn’t locked in
F!ck about and you’ll find out
Darwin is calling 😂
So far I'm bobbin and weavin. 😂
@@mechanicgraylmfao
How's that piston after tbr drop
It's fine. I didn't hurt anything.
Yikes, this must be the next entry in the Darwin awards
I agree. I'm an idiot sometimes.
Supposed to have rubber anti slip pad on that .....not just bare metal.
Yo my stomach did a flip... i didnt like that at all
Me too. 🤦
Try tapping it easier 😂
Bro you dumb just put the car down and reset it.
Great video. My 18 Tahoe needs a transmission replacement I believe. Not sure I want to try this at home...
It's a lot of work on the ground.
Y is that lift arm not under the frame of the vehicle
Because sometimes I'm an idiot. 🤦
Nice! used it as reference ; I am removing the whole engine with the transmission attached due to a hydro locked engine, can't turn the crankshaft, but in my case I have removed the whole front of the vehicle and today got the harness off, axles are off, not the intermediate shaft, hope it won't be a problem because those 3 bolts securing it to the block I could only get to 1, my clearance under the car is only 3 feet as my lift is a half lift Max Jax, but thanks to their creeper it is still very nice and relatively comfortable to work under the car, lastly removed the 3 bolts for the back transmission mount now the engine is being held only by the right and left mounts; soon it will be out and I can't wait to open it up and see if I can still use the block; i would like to repair the damage if possible without having to swap the engine with a used one or buying a remanufactured long block, nobody sells just the short block, i am hoping that it would be a bent connecting rod but will know better once opened and go from there.
If your pulling the whole thing you can prob leave the shaft on the motor till you get it out.
Cheverlot has swapped my trans twice. 2nd time it was under warranty. The first time it was 3 days after an oil change which had me puzzled. It was working fine until that oil change. Now… 3 weeks after that transmission swap. 3 bolts have broken and my engine makes a weird noise. 3500 dollars. I need a bicycle.
Damn that sucks. Don't think the oil change had to do with it. Sometimes stuff just happens at wired times.
