    I just flew in this aircraft in a simulator . I have a question. When you land do you have to be conservative with the reverse thrust as to not pop a wheelie? lol seriously I’m curious

    • @johnkluenker
      @johnkluenker День тому

      You don’t have to be conservative with reverse thrust. You pull the thrust reversers all the way up but you have to wait until the nose is on the ground and you are applying full forward pressure on the yoke. If you don’t, the application of full thrust reversers will cause no to come up as you are rolling down the runway. The engines are very large and mounted pretty high on the aft fuselage. I Need to make the video I have been meaning to make about landing the Citation X!

      @@johnkluenker thank you for the reply! Also, regarding the comment about a new video about landing the Citation . I would love that upload for sure. I also would love to see the step by step in cabin procedures for both land and take off, because I’m just playing a simulation but I still could use the knowledge for in case I ever have to steal one during a zombie apocalypse. Never say foreplay on a bro trip 😉 love the HF and SELCAL stuff. You should have added the 123.45 stuff at the end as an outtake. When you were readying the reversers he said “showing all 6?” Are those indicators of them all opening, or just verifying that everything is green? I only see two per side on the X, and only two green indicators for REV. Just wondering.

    • @johnkluenker
      @johnkluenker 6 днів тому

      😂 LOLOL I was wondering who would be the first one to catch that. Glad you appreciate the HF! At least people can see what it’s really like out there over the middle of the pond. The HF struggle is real! I was bummed that I shut off the camera just before the dialogue started on 123.45. I turned it on to try to capture it and just caught the tail end. If you see all 6 lights of the TR’s that means they are fully-deployed. One each side, one light means “ARMED”, two lights mean “UNLOCKED”, and three lights for “DEPLOYED”.

      @@johnkluenker oh shit, I see them now, the six up top. I was just looking at the Norm screen on the display. I honestly never noticed the three on the copilot side, I’m usually zoomed into one of 4-5 zones, and don’t look all the way to the right there unless it’s zoomed for the APU or pressurization panel. How long is flight to Hawaii in Citation X?

    • @johnkluenker
      @johnkluenker 25 днів тому

      It all depends upon the wind. If the winds are really high, we have to pull the power back to save fuel. If the winds are light, we can do it in 4 1/2 hours. If the winds are strong, I’ve taken as long as 5.7 hours. Regardless, we fly at slower cruise speeds to ensure that we have plenty of fuel when we get there.

      You of course, are entitled to hiring whichever pilots you want. Not offended that you wouldn’t want to hire me. Obviously our personalities would not have meshed well. I would rather have two pilots upfront that enjoy what they do and are excited about it. I don’t see a problem with that. This was our first crossing in three years and Mark’s first time flying across the pond so we figured it was a good idea to document it if anything for our own review and training purposes. The boss does not mind if we set up cameras before hand. It’s a simple push the record button. Not a big deal. We are a small Part 91 flight department. I hope you enjoy what you do!

    Question. Is it regulation or SOP that you guys had your O2 masks at the ready? I saw the FO with it on for a while then the Captain.

      It’s a requirement to wear it above 41,000 feet. I wear it but periodically pull it down due to the fatigue that it causes. I figured I might as well pull it down for the speaking parts but having it around the neck keeps it at the ready.

    This is so cool to watch and I just started the video. I'm just curious if you could do this with a Cessna 172/182. I was waiting to hear you say "We have our clearance, Clarence." lol I'm really thankful that you guys post your flights on UA-cam, because I hope it will inspire some of the younger generation to consider becoming pilots. Oh, I went skydiving out of a Cessna 172 in the early 90's. Thinking back to that makes me wish that I had looked into getting my pilot's license when I was younger.

      Thank you! Believe it or not, a Cessna 172 recently made the crossing. Single pilot and many extra gallons of fuel in tanks in the cabin. Yikes!!

    That music is awful…. Irritating…

      The “quiet/no music” version is here: Flying Across the Ocean to Hawaii in a Citation X Corporate Jet - QUIET MUSIC VERSION ua-cam.com/video/badFXbljGm0/v-deo.html I completely faded it out in some areas. Just about everybody prefers it over this one, including me! Sadly UA-cam seems to push the loud music version instead of this one and I don’t understand why. If you check out the other version I would really appreciate a comment to let me know what you think of it. Thanks for the input!!

    I'd like to see how to connect the batteries and this moron holds the camera up in the air at nothing. What's next? Dizzying camera technique.
