The Truth Behind The Torment | Silent Hill 2 Remake
Among all the silent hill games that have been made and were thrust into our hands, among all the failures and successes of the series, one has always stood out. One of the Silent Hill games emerged from the fog and was seen as more than its peers. That one being Silent Hill 2 (and by extension Silent Hill 2 Remake), as unlike the other Silent Hill games who all follow an overarching narrative about dark rituals and a cult looking to return their god into our realm, this one focuses more on the pain and suffering that people can be subjected to in their every day lives. It confronts us with the darkest depths of our psyche and forces us to look for the truth behind the torment and to overcome it or be unmade by it.

A TERRIFYING World That Leaves You WANTING MORE | Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
Переглядів 1 тис.Місяць тому
Spacemarine 2 is an amazing game that allows newcomers to glimpse into the vast and deep world of Warhammer 40K. Space Marine 2 differs slightly from most Warhammer media in that it is not Grimdark but rather Nobledark. All that and more will be discussed in this video. The Videos I mentioned: "Pity the Guardsman" - ua-cam.com/video/GT_3TehNVpU/v-deo.htmlsi=UhR0iDOE6jjKVI9B "Echoes of Eternity"...

Why Would ANYONE Enjoy Gaming?

There are many reasons why one would love gaming and yet time and time again people ask why someone could POSSIBLY like video games as if it is a purely foreign concept that they simply cannot wrap their heads around, even going so far to demean those who enjoy this hobby. In this video I attempted to shine a light on the many reasons why one would love video games. Music Credit: Karl Casey @ W...

When The GOOD GUY Is Actually EVIL In A Game | Ghost of Tsushima
Переглядів 280 тис.5 місяців тому
We are all quite used to playing the good guy, the hero, the goody two shoes in most games. But what if your hero is just as, if not more evil than the villains? And I mean FULL STOP. No hesitation. No mercy. Jin Sakai's story proves that not every hero needs to follow boring clichéd rules of heroism. At least not on the surface. This and so much more makes Ghost of Tsushima such a special game...

Modern Gaming is a Scam

In the past few years the gaming industry as a whole has taken a nose dive in quality. The modern day gaming landscape is aiming to exploit us and ironically itself to the fullest extent. Why Helldivers 2 Manages To Succeed Where Most Fail
Переглядів 1,2 тис.8 місяців тому
Let's take a look at how Helldivers 2 managed to succeed in rapturing the gaming community like no one else. It does so specifically by keeping mind that a game is meant to be fun first and foremost, leaving the recurring monetization in mind. The lack of this mindset is also why many others fail. The video I spoke of in this video: "Paranoid - Black Sabbath (But It's Synthwave) By Jaxius {Rema...

It would take too many people being patient for that to work. Also gambling Is very addictive. If people only bought games like gta 5, ballers gate 3 on release and waited for when other games became like $20 then it would work. Don’t tell people not to play games. Just don’t buy them at full price on release wait at lease 6 months ideally as long as possible till it goes on sale. Buy used also the studios don’t make money off that. It’d also just good finances and you get better games cheaper. After patches games become far better. And for what a full price game costs I’ll buy 5+ games often with dlc and performance and gameplay patched to be better. I buy about 2 full priced games a year sometimes on release only 1 depending on the games. Every game I bought full price I either will flip or trade in within the month or ones I will play for a long time like Diablo 4 with continued content or games I will replay like gta v or recently metaphor refantazio. Only physical games so I can sell or trade them in. Nowadays being on Xbox a lot of games come with the pc version for free. Those are the only full priced digital games I’ll buy since it’s likely I’ll play it in years on pc when my series x becomes obsolete.

I said i wasn't getting dragon's dogma 2 because the microtransactions and people defending the existence of them by saying you can get the items in game already. To which I responded with, the very people with a vested interest in making money off you also controls the drop rates for the items. You could wake up tomorrow with an update that changes them to be non existent.

Playing games actually makes you a better surgeon. It makes you 30% better on average in fact. There is even an argument to make it mandatory for surgeons since no class taken can improve you as much.

The whole reason for Shimura’s adherence to the Samurai code was based on their flashback conversation where Tsushima was previously said to have been ruled / overrun by bandits. He saw how *order* brought stability to the island, and that’s all he knew as the antidote against disorder. With the Mongols coming in as a new form of order, it made total sense for Jin to use the tactics of disorder to fight the Khan. Shimura’s failure to adapt his mindset to suit the new reality is ironically how the Taira lost against the Minamoto in the decades prior

For someone to be “evil”, they need to enjoy the suffering they create. Which Jin does not. Jin does what he has to to save his people. And he doesn’t do anything that the Mongols wouldn’t either. Granted, what he does is not “good”, but still Jin isn’t evil

I'm gonna be the different voice here. I actually think what the game industry is doing is fine. The company owners aren't making games for the sake of art or anything. It's a business, and the primary goal of almost all businesses is to maximizing profit (this includes the future projects, so reputation matters too). That's what everyone should strive for. Of course, if it doesn't make money, then you failed. And someone else will replace you. Entertainment is a very volatile industry.

27:21 I think I actually know why there are two, I heard another UA-camr explain how it’s kind of like his reasons for guilt, the murder of Mary and Eddie. And in the original game the pyramids drop two eggs(I don’t know if they do in the new version) but they were supposed to symbolize their stages in life, Mary was rusted, dying and in the suspected end of her life, and Eddie, the silver egg, because he wasn’t supposed to die yet and was healthy. I don’t know if I believe it fully but it’s always an idea and would make sense with SH love of symbols and metaphors.

The key to creating a great villain is to make their story known. How they became it. And the logical reason for it. Jin saw the terrors in the battle of Komoda, and was willing to sacrifice it all, his honour, his code, and his uncle's trust, just to protect Tsushima. He is a hero to Tsushima, and a villain to the Samurai.

Definitely the best part of this game. It doesn’t try to inject the characters with a modern sense of morality. They’re very much a product of their time, even Jin to the extent that (after everything he has been through) he quickly becomes proud to parade around dismembered opponents to instill fear in the enemy.

What all these videos fail to talk about are the mass amount of subsidies countries like Canada and the U.S, give companies to just dump out games. I think this is a big part of why the market is becoming oversaturated, especially with mind numbing shooters and loot pkg / gatcha design games, and not the games we use to enjoy, like cooperative games or thinking games, or well designed story games.

Jin isn't the bad guy of the story, the Shogunate is. The Shogun force Lord Shimura into a position where it's his head, his son's head or a peasant's head. He tries to reason with Jin to blame the peasant for leading him astray so he won't be forced to kill his own son. The lord's of Tsushima were Sakai, Adachi and Kikuchi under Jito Shimura before the fight at Komoda beach. You learn more about this by doing Lady Masako's quest line and Senelsei Ishikawa's quest line.

This is something that definitely irked me while playing because for all the work the game goes through to make you feel bad, Jin is entirely justified. Like if we forget this is a videogame where I could quite feasibly take on the entire mongol army at once, we have like 1-4 samurai against an entire armada of enemies that already killed 99% of the defending force in one fell strike. Honor is admirable, but it is a handicap for the strong by design. With the samurai's great power comes the responsibility to use their power justly and for the good of others, which they do by fighting by set rules. However Jin is no longer on the winning side, hes no longer the strongest around. There is no value in honor for a weaker opponent, and the stakes are the well-being of all the citizens of Tsushima. I will use any means necessarily to save the innocent, no matter the toll it takes on my image or the enemies that are clearly malicious and irredeemable. Honor is to keep things fair, the war we face in GoT is not, so all bets are off.

seems a bit disingenuous to put battleborn in the same grouping as live service games, even as a quick offhand; battleborn failed because randy pitchford thought he could win a fight against blizzard with overwatch, and refused to adjust release time. that game would've thrived if it's entire playerbase hadn't been eaten by overwatch due to one man's ego. the live service had nothing to do with it, as it was only a live service the same way early overwatch 1 was.

as an older gamer, all these complaints in these type of videos are really for hardcore gamers. the problem for a casual gamer, is these games tend to be overly complicated and have too long intros, and essentially take forever to get into the game. this is probably because the hardcore gamer tend to be the most vocal and complain about everything. most of the newer games can't even just pick up and play. everything has to have a story to it, and everything needs to be customizable, not to mention the intro videos in the subsequent videos after that to get these hardcore gamers immersed into the game. I just want to play a game. I don't need a backstory to every fictitious character.

I legitimately refuse to buy games that have micro and macro transactions. Selling actually dlc I'm fine with. Still annoying but I can deal with it. I need the gaming industry to wake up and realize the number of games that have been released to date and how many are considered great games, how cheap they were to make as well as how many hrs of gameplay they all combine into. There are literally hundreds of thousands of hrs of games for people to play and the gaming community will be perfectly fine when the industry crashes. We still have plenty of games on our backlog, we wont be saddened when your company closes. Someone else will step into your spot and be better. I also have psychical copies whenever possible, as well as I dont do games as a service because I'm not losing access to my games because someone made a stupid decision or the company decided to make a second version of the game.

I absolutely love the combat in ghost of tsushima which is why i usually never use stealth cause its just so much fun squabbling with the mongols. Fun fact: anything that does not have a long range attack will not attack simultaneously. Usually if youre fighting three or more sword guys only one will ever attack at one time, this helps when youre going for these precious precious perfect parries.
