wish you had done the video of them singing this live Also little known fact is their backup band is the Crickets from Buddy Holly and the crickets who joined them when Buddy died and the crickets is what inspired a certain group to call themselves the Beatles So many incredible hits by them. In 69 I went to see Simon and Garfunkel as an encore they came out and dedicated to their mentors the Everly Brothers and sang like 6 of their songs. Youve got to hear more
They came from a musical family. Their dad was a singer/guitarist, too. Being brothers, the voices blend a little better than if they were not. They have that Kentucky twang. And a lot of their early hits were written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, with rhymes in the middle of lines as well as at the end and with a lot of fifth-interval harmonics instead of the usual thirds. So they were distinctive in several ways. Their slow, often sad songs will grow on you. Try "Let It Be Me," "Love Hurts," "Devoted To You," "Crying in the Rain," etc. They also had fast songs, and some silly humorous songs.
Yes, this version sounds like how they speed them up a bit for a bar internet jukebox for some older songs. I think the live is a bit slower even realistic vs this.
Talk about brother groups. What about brother and sister groups.Check out "CORNELIUS BROTHERS AND SISTER ROSE" there song "To late to turn back now" its great.
Love The Everly Brothers harmonies. They started out when they were really young in the 50's-60's. They influenced a lot of the groups that came after them. They had so many hits such as "Bye Bye Love", "Wake Up Little Susie", "When Will I Be Loved", "Problems", "Bird Dog", "So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad)", "Walk Right Back", "Crying in the Rain" etc. Sadly neither of them is alive now. But they left a great legacy of music.

The Everly Brothers taught everybody how to sing harmonies.
Groups including Simon & Garfunkel and the Beatles cite the Everly Brothers as a major influence on their music.
These two brothers’ music influenced the Beatles and many other groups. A group of brothers is The Jacksons
with M.J.

There's a live tv broadcast of them doing this song from sometime in the 60's, it's worth your time to watch.

Actually thier dad was in music. Don's daughter dated and married Axl rose ,the lead singer of guns and roses.
Beautiful harmonies!
They sing Cathy's clown and wake up little Susie. It's thier harmony, that's expressive. The beatles actually studied them.
The Everlys influenced so many artists from the Beatles, The Bee Gees, and so many others. Their harmonies are heavenly.
I love this song
PHIL'S DAUGHTER WHEN DATING AXEL ROSE IN MID 80'S , HE WROTE SWEET CHILD OF MINE FOR HER....

Don and Phil were such great writers and harmonizers. I think so many musicians were influenced by them.
A simpler time… gee whiz…
This was a very sweet song by them, don't be put off by it's simplicity. They have some much more lively ones too! (see Dagmar's list)
