Just a abnormal game playing, fishing, car fixing kind of guy. My dad was a mechanic and from helping him work on cars I grew to enjoy fixing just about anything. My game playing came about with my first Atari 2600 and Asteroids. Now in my later age I still enjoy gaming and working on vehicles. Just glad to have my videos watched and channel grow. Thank you all who watch my videos.
1 oil filter missing so let's look at Flywheels
I had it all set up for this week for used oik filter friday but it didnt work out. So we can look at 2 bad Subaru flywheels. What do you think, use one of the flywheels or buy a new one?

As you will see this is an easy job and if you screw it up then a new seal will be needed. Guess I should order another.

Been meaning to do a video like this for awhile, I think it worked out well for all the filters other than Fram canister filter. Yes watch to end to see what I found.
Subaru 2.5 sohc oil pump installed on Sunday Quickie
Переглядів 5914 годин тому
Not a bad job to do because it's kinda easy. Hopefully I installed it right and there will be no leaks. The torque for the oil pump seemed low at 5 ft lbs, so I rechecked and found many websites to say 6.4 n m or 4.7 ft lbs, and on other sites say 7 to 10 ft lbs. I went with 8.5 since the bolts are very small.
Pontiac G6 K&N and Hyundai ChampXL oil filters cut open
Переглядів 20019 годин тому
With my guest host The Wife we successfully were able to open these 2 oil filters without incident. Seriously both filters looked very good, with the K&N having 6200 km and the ChampXL with 4500 km.

Very good filter from India manfacturer, i will probably get some hate for saying this filter beats out some of the American oil filter manufacturers.. My opinion is its a great filter from a foreign Manufacturer.

What Oil pump to use, the least worn of course
Does it still make lots of noise
SO DID IT WORK? dO YOU KNOW WHAT A REVIEW MEANS?
Yes it worked but for about 3 weeks then washed away or sun burned off.
Did that on a 2000 Chevy Express V6. It had 130K miles when bought. It has 303K miles now. I did check the specs to make sure the internals were the same.
Very nice, it's nice to have a bit more filtration in that oil filter.
It's shit but I still buy them. It's $10 the upper class one is $12 but I get it because of the grip bottom so I can take it off easier
I understand the grip top, at least the filter is built better than the orange can. Thanks James.
Hello Sir. It is great service for your channel and you will more benefitted, If you want to know more then reply me by your email.
Pack the back with grease to keep the seal spring in an invest in a seal driver or lathe to diy.
Thank you , very good suggestions I will take note of.

Looking forward to that Honda filter I'm getting ready to pop one of those on to my 90 civic.
Yes that genuine Honda made in Japan filter should be well made, at least better than the filters we get from dealerships.😉

is it what they call a rotating grenade?😃
Definitely if I used one of those flywheels, after closer look I have ordered a new flywheel. Thanks Bud great comment.
Good filter, change oil every 3.000 miles Ford V10.
Nice engine, just changed it on my G6 at 6200 km, did a fabulous job, glad I bought 8 very cheaply from Rockauto.
Please don't rest a metal can on your car paint😢
🫣👍
It's still the orange can of death to me. My Jeep had one on it when I got it and I switched to WIX and gained 5 PSI of oil pressure.
I understand, Fram doesn't have good reliability in the orange can.
There's real tests out there this guy tell us nothing about the filters performance
How do I tell about the performance, I take them apart and show how they are built. Your comment is silly and ridiculous. 🤣
@@crazybillsgaragest shows you know nothing about oil filter testing. Do yourself a favor and look up engineer tests oil filters
@41alone wow so rude, get a day job.
Hey bud so dose the oil just have to show above the window or dose it have to cover it.
I have always covered it, I think that's what the book told me. I have lost the book since. I still go with cover it.

Thanks Bill, I am playing the game.😊
It's having problems but will hopefully be steady soon.
Drove my 05 freestyle 330,000 miles with three water pumps within about 10 months so I junked it
Mine still has original Ford water pump so I'll leave it alone, just it needs a transmission now.😅
Sitting in water will do that 🤷🏻♂
To bad about the transmission, it's a great car if I could use it.
@@crazybillsgarage I always loved the wagon style for cars . any make 😃
@LooneyFarmGuy yeah they have so much room.
Did not expect that you still had the ford freestyle anymore, save those great cars.
Yeah still got it hopefully I will find a transmission. 🫣
Dude, you need to show us how you did it since the beginning!!! 👎
That is a very old video, I don't even remember it now. I will have a few more vids to come on the Previa in future. I plan on fixing it up soon.
That sucks, usually we go out camping for about a week, we’re slamming bass all day along with some walleye
I am told Show lake was very good, guess we had a bad day. So many nice places to fish in the park.
@@crazybillsgarage hey btw I just realized this video is 8 years old😅 I hope you had better luck between then
@noahstang I never went back but I go to Nopiming regularly, black lake does pretty good, and even Cat lake for pike is a haven undiscovered.
Uneven spacing of the filter pletes doesn't hurt filteration in my opinion i love plastic core for better flow
The e core is great, I'm always good with better flow.
I WOULD ONLY USE FRAM ULTRA,TITIATUM, ENDURANCE THESE 3 FRAM ARE 💯 ON THE MONEY IN MY BOOK BUT NEVER ORANGE
I agree with you, those are better made filters.
I've done HG on 2 Subarus and I think the Felpro MLS steel are the way to go. I put 150K on one set and I have 40k on the most recent one. No leaks. I did not replace the head bolts as Subaru recommends. Me and most others think it's unnecessary.
Yes I believe the Felpro MLS are pretty good. I will give the ITM MLS a try. I've used ITM on other engines with no problems.
Do not drive the seal until it bottoms. There is a drain hole at the bottom that will be blocked and the seal will leak. Drive it until the seal is even with the inside bevel and stop. These large rear main seals can be a bear to install correctly. Pieces of PVC pipe and PVC pipe end caps can help to drive them. Inspect the air/oil separator plate. The aluminum and plastic ones were known to crack. Subaru has superseded with a steel one.
Thank you again, I will use your advice.
I did this last year. Engine in the car. The screws on the back that hold the steel plate on come loose after a while and then the front crank seal blows out. I put blue loc-tite on the screws and torqued them plus one umph. Reseal the air/oil separator on the back of the engine while it's out. If it's plastic, replace with a steel one (it was a TSB). edit: the torque on those plate screws is 5.4 N·m (0.6 kgf-m, 4.0 ft-lb) according to my 2010 Forester manual.
Thank you, I will remove and reseal those areas. I was thinking I should do that but now I will.
I would say you should get 2 more 😜
Maybe a box full. 😅
@@crazybillsgarage At this rate ..... yeah 😂

Well that ended badly, there's always more seals out there.😅

I like those cartridges more because I can see what I am paying for.
Very true Bud, it is a good idea to look at them. Less mess also if the cup is turned up.
Dude what are you doing? Lol
Having the best life I can while being poor.😉
Home! Nice!
It was a good Staycation but back to work tomorrow.🥺
Although canister filters are easier and quicker to change, I like the cartridge ones because you can inspect how the filters are working, as others have said. They also seem to have better flow than the canisters
Better flow and can be inspected before install and after. Good concept, but I still like my canister filters.😉
I got a FRAM oil filter cartridge from a cut open canister hanging up on a toilet paper holder hanging next to the toilet 🚻 🚽🧻 as a friendly reminder not to use FRAM, use another cut open canister for a desk trashcan 🗑 & another as a ashtray 🚬
Bright ideas.🤯
The reason why cartridge filters are cleanly assembled is that you will see what it is ....the sloppiness can easily be concealed in a canister filter & unknown & unseen
I believe your right, if you can inspect the filter first than it better look good.
Cartridge filters are mostly used on the junk brands of vehicles (Stellantis brands & other overpriced problematic brands). Toyota tried them for a while but mostly returned to spin on filters. Most Honda vehicles use the same spin on filters. Not really a coincidence the best & most reliable brands don't use cartridge filters.
Your right on that, where I work we take in used oil filters, and the ratio must be 50 to 1 in favor of canister filters.
I believe the reason the center of some of the filters interiors turn is so it’ll turn with the oil filter cartridge housing cap when installing or removing the filter from the oil filter/cooler housing.
yes , I know on the older Cev Cavaliers they tend to twist when you tighten the cap on 🤔
You could be right and maybe that is a better set.
Twisty are they.😅
There is a hole in the Filter , Dear Liza , Dear Liza . 🎵😂
🤣
Leave it to Looney to find the Brite side of a hole in a filter.😂
My wife has the 2014 jeep which we will be changing the oil filter housing to the type with anti drain back valve. Should work better than having dry starts. Thanks Bill.😊
Yes we are hoping soon we will change the wife's filter housing.
I’ve used the Fram CH11665 before in my Ram. It’s a good filter. But I change my oil every 3,000 miles. Currently running a Mopar filter but I’ll eventually go back to Fram because it’s 1/2 the price and since I change my oil every 3,000 miles the Fram is fine.
That's good, you used a good one. I'm not saying it's bad, just everyone of those cartridge filters should be looked at before bought.
@@crazybillsgarageI edited my comment with more information.
I'm sure it's fine, it still looks pretty good, I just don't like the construction being sloppy.
@@crazybillsgarage I don’t think mine had a hole in it. But who knows? 😂
@marksadventures976 but you may look now when buying them.😂
Never seen a metal strip on any cartridge filter 🤔
Yeah that is strange since they are a good selling point for canister filters.😅
I do like the cartridge filters . Easy to change and you can see the state of the filter when removing . 🤔
Instant inspection upon removal.
Very nice! My wife drives a 2017 Dodge Durango 3.6 uses cartridge style. I have been using the fram ultra and wix xp. They all seem to be built really well
Yes cartridge filters seem to be built better, maybe it's because you can inspect what your buying.
@@crazybillsgarage agreed I like to see what I'm dealing with. Plus the crap I've been wiping out of the threads on my spin on filters has been scary lately. Light oil on paper towel wipe out threads I've seen a lot of metal where they don't get cleaned out well. Just something to look out for
Yes the Fram Ultra and WIX XP have a much better build quality than most.
