Hi Kevin, thanks for that. I always feel tired after socialising even with family and busy shopping areas exhaust me so much that I need alone time to recharge. I get a buz from seeing how cheaply I can live and it’s good to be able to put a little aside, it soon mounts up. Your girls are adorable, look at the little one keep touching your arm for attention 🥰

My dog does the same thing. He'd rather hold it than go out in the rain or snow. I have to force him to go. And then he'll jet back into the house. 😂

We’ll you beat us in the snow department! I live in Southwestern Ontario (the snow belt area) and we have yet to see the white fluffy stuff. I’m a four-season kind gal- and I can’t wait for the snow - weather channel is predicting some next week! It was so lovely to see the girls running and playing in their winter wonderland!

Unconditional love is priceless. 🐕 ❤ Sometimes people forget that we don't need money or material things to be rich. My family, my animals and my garden hold the greatest value for me ❤

And on the value of our best buddies - my mum recently suggested that I spoil my dog - I corrected her by reminding her how well behaved and loving my dog is, and in return, rather than spoil her, I cherish her 🐾 You're spot on about people too, the most valuable relationships are ones with reciprocal warmth, support and respect - it's all about the soul, none of the physical stuff matters

They must love the gnawing part of it. Good for keeping their teeth cleaner to some degree!

Beautiful snow. Winter sets in and so do we! I have comfy blankets in the bedrooms and LR to keep me warm while I sip my coffee/tea and observe nature at it's finest!

I really get what you are expressing. I am older and I feel that everyone is priceless. I feel it is important for everyone to have clear boundaries and not be afraid to voice them. We meet others at particular stages in our lives and depending on our experiences we react according to that. Everything that you have bought to ensure a more comfortable life are always valuable and because of that we take care of them and keep them safe so we can use them whenever we can. What is sad that is that a lot of this generation is a throw away generation and do not appreciate the joy of caring for things that are valuable.

Yeah, we had snow last night...the horses weren't happy (till I took them extra feed and an apple to share) three hours later, it's all gone. Thankfully, hoping to build a shelter and enclosure at the weekend. Take care Kev keep warm 😉

So lucky day for you - I am a canine behaviouralist for the police force. So dogs chew sticks as it mimics bones. When the ground gets cold the sticks are even more like a bone. Chewing bones is hard wired into their dna they use it for nutrients and the teeth. Hope this helps - also I’d say you’re dogs are a tad under the bones on the bigger is slightly outlined. They tend to do this as they get older so add anouther 15 percent to their feed xx

ffs get rid of the Rhododendrons they are not protected I've just cleared 4 acres of growth here and there at my brother in laws in Scotland it took me 3 years off and on now in places we have new saplings growing

Hav8ng the skill to live with much money is a skill i am so grateful of love it make my own food to my own coffee in my second hand ruck sack with second hand binoculars love walking the coast of northumberland cost me nothing 😊 had to leave a lot of people behind because dont have tge same mind set so they expect me to do there £££££ cost thing eg some cafe boasting small coffee and a peace of cake £6.25 😮 people just pay itnow days thats way they are on the hamster wheel, each to there own 😊

Love what you are doing. The thought provoking of life. I certainly believe that age comes with plenty of reflection. Less drama and strife. I am 57. I now live in east Hampshire, Petersfield. I have struggled for most of my life. Multiple events and decisions that led me to have a mental breakdown in July 2020. My lifetime of anxiety pushed me over the edge, and with my depression I have had to learn to let go of a lot. I have my dog Remus,a god send. I do have a son and daughter,both parents themselves to 3 gorgeous girls. I don't like the society we have now. Greed, corruption and just ignorance. It's probably always been there. A lot of the time hidden away. To live off grid free from the madness of this world sounds like a life worth living. Your description of our commodity driven society certainly has a lot to answer for. Growing up in London,markets,rented TV. Make do and mend. Or put it another way,not a pot to p... In. Looking forward to seeing you develop your homestead. The dogs, and obviously the wisdom you are sharing with us. All the best.

Great book! …kind of a bible really. Most rural homes here will have this book on their shelves. Amazing that a guy felt the need to live “slow” in a time before most machines! I read this when I was 20 and lived in a hut on a mountain and it certainly inspired and influenced me.🐇🇨🇦
