Hello! My anxiety disorder forced me to fast forward because I couldn't watch seeing the digger go overboard! Then I went back when I opened my eyes to see it went well!

I dream of hydro power here, i have no stream though. Looking forward to watching your new project. You know your stuff Kevin !. Im a bit of a free energy nerd. Even if you stuck to a very low wattage generator, say 100w , times that by 24 hours a day in wetter months when the water flows best that's 2.4 kw hours a day produced ! plenty if stored in a battery bank ( lead acid leisure battery bank) Im not a fan of them exploding lithium batteries. I have just under 5kw lead acid leisure battery bank here connected to 500w solar panels. Good luck Kevin, take good care.

Thank you for a lovely comment. Free energy is the goal here. To be less reliant on the outside world as best i can.

You could have always made bio fuel using ibc containers there's loads of videos on here cheaper than solar plus you can run bio fuel on generators so you have gas and electric

@@Jokayne never thought of the bio fuel route. But I am trying to reduce the use of my generator as a power source.

@themanofthewoods you can convert your generator to run off bio fuel ⛽️
You'll find a video on here..

@@Jokayne the generator doesnt need any conversion work at all since its a diesel. what it needs if going down that route is the usual way of making bio-diesel from vegetable oils and that requires a cheap/free source of it.
the hydro will probably be enough, especially if it does reach 500w and he'll end up needing a dump load to get rid of excess power.

Damn Kev! Not as much digging as I thought there might have been but yeah, getting out will be more fun that getting in..not something I would have felt able to do, even with the digger so hats off to you for what you have managed.
Just a quick one you have the drop, ever thought about a ram pump?
    Ok, back to the video!

I am considering a ram pump at a later stage, as I do have the deepwell pump at the moment. Yes I need the generator to run the pump and hopefully work on the ram pump and negate the use of the generator a bit more.

Random thought, did you think about using a roll of 110mm blue alkathene pipe (MDPE)? Though I guess thats a lot more like £1,070.64

Yes I looked into various types of pipe, and the soil pipe was the most cost effective.
