I'm so glad you have the book it resonates with your way of viewing the world. Wisdom that trancends time. What a beautiful day in Kev's world! A cuppa and a cake, can't fault it!
Love what you are doing. The thought provoking of life. I certainly believe that age comes with plenty of reflection. Less drama and strife. I am 57. I now live in east Hampshire, Petersfield. I have struggled for most of my life. Multiple events and decisions that led me to have a mental breakdown in July 2020. My lifetime of anxiety pushed me over the edge, and with my depression I have had to learn to let go of a lot. I have my dog Remus,a god send. I do have a son and daughter, both parents themselves to 3 gorgeous girls. I don't like the society we have now. Greed, corruption and just ignorance. It's probably always been there. A lot of the time hidden away. To live off grid free from the madness of this world sounds like a life worth living. Your description of our commodity driven society certainly has a lot to answer for. Growing up in London, markets, rented TV. Make do and mend. Or put it another way,not a pot to p... In. Looking forward to seeing you develop your homestead. The dogs, and obviously the wisdom you are sharing with us. All the best.
What a lovely and honest comment, thank you. I am sorry to hear of your troubled life, yet feel you have found a path that gives you some peace. Yes i do feel greed, corruption and ignorance has been around for many generations before us. My thoughts are, as we get wiser or just plain older we wake up and see it for what it is? And as for Remus? Like my Girl's. They are our world and show unconditional love. By the way i know Petersfield as i grew up in Midhurst! Small world eh.
Thank you ! Highly enjoyed this presentation. You know I purchase this book, on recommendation from another channel but have not as yet read it. (Procrastination is real ) I am going to start reading it this evening, as I known I need the encouragement to make a change. Again THANK YOU !
Great book! …kind of a bible really. Most rural homes here will have this book on their shelves. Amazing that a guy felt the need to live “slow” in a time before most machines! I read this when I was 20 and lived in a hut on a mountain and it certainly inspired and influenced me.🐇🇨🇦
Hav8ng the skill to live with much money is a skill i am so grateful of love it make my own food to my own coffee in my second hand ruck sack with second hand binoculars love walking the coast of northumberland cost me nothing 😊 had to leave a lot of people behind because dont have tge same mind set so they expect me to do there £££££ cost thing eg some cafe boasting small coffee and a peace of cake £6.25 😮 people just pay itnow days thats way they are on the hamster wheel, each to there own 😊
A very similar path to me. Yes it takes a fair bit to walk away from the more materialistic and often money motivated souls. And as you say it is their choice. I chose peace and tranquility, giving me more time for myself.

Thank you. It truly does resonate with my chosen path and getting it now as the dark evenings draw in. It will be great reading for me.
I'm going to dig my old copy out and read it again too. You could have a book club with Kev 😊
@nicola6805 That could be an idea?

“What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us.”
Thoreau was a visionary and pursued a simple life style - I can see the similarities!
So very true!
Thank You 👍Wise words .
Thanks for listening

It is thanks to the advice I was given. And yes I am truly grateful that I now have this book.

Do you share your story on how you bought your land and started your journey? Thanks 👍
Over the course of my channel I think I have. But not as a dedicated episode. So I feel you have given me an idea now. Thank you.
