Taking the Solo Win At Bcyclet Inferno Swiss
This was a tough 2 day stage race with 29,802ft of climbing over 354 KMs. The weather was biblical on the first stage which made it even tougher.
BCYCLET Inferno Swiss was one of the toughest events Ive ever done on the bike. Wining the solo categorty was more than id dreamed of.
Big shout out to Konstantin who organised the whole event and ran it smoothly over the 2 days. With the weather it wasnt easy Im sure. Check out their website bcycletinferno.ch/

    Friendly feedback. You present well. But I thought this was a parody video. Your slow introductions didn’t feel like they were going to end. Then after all that the message was as basic as Forest Gump. It left me feeling like WTF!? I will watch again, but I will need you to get to the point or else I will just move on. That tricky balance of suspense and padding… it’s a tough one. Good luck and thanks for doing cycling content 👍

    Type of calories reality matter. Cut the refined carbs. Avoid over processed food. That pizza is awful. The cake is a lot more calories...like 2000. But worst it will spike your glucose level and store that extra glucose as fat.

It’s also about understanding behaviours, feelings of hunger, habits and knowledge amongst other things. Cyclists mistakenly eat way more refined carbohydrates than necessary and therefore less quality protein and they don't do resistance training, so muscle and skeletal mass goes down. This recipe worked for me in my forties when I was trying to increase my power to weight ratio, but this isn't a good long term strategy. I became a skinny little wimp and then I discovered that life long endurance athletes who do WAY TOO MUCH cardio develop atrial fibrillation and have surprisingly high rates of cardiovascular disease. I stopped doing crazy cardio, ate more protein, lifted weights and everything fell into place.

      Training wise it can help build torque and power distribution. But as said for power and strength hitting the gym is the best way to build ultimate power and strength. In racing you wouldn’t sprint with low cadence more often than not you sprint from low to higher to generate speed and power.

    I am 64 and my first grandchild was born almost 2 years ago. While always being healthy I started catching every respiratory ailment he caught (I could not stay away from him -- too much fun!). I finally upped my zinc to 1000mg/day with 500mg Quercetin when I saw he had a sneeze or runny nose. That works to keep me ailment free and on the bike.

    I legitimately eat 500+ carbs bare minimum every single day. some days up to 8/900. Also includes at very minimum 1 complete KG of veggies. soon as I roll out of bed I take a medium size poop, then I start my daily supplements and in about 45min while waking up I take another large poop and am completely cleaned out before hopping on the bike. current supplement stack... ua-cam.com/users/shortsJ1bBIAY8EIc?feature=share. On the bike fueling is always something different for me, usually high sugar high protein medium carb. the cliff BLOKS are my main energy fuel OTB but I make a badass PB&J + marshmallow burrito that I freeze and stick in a zip lock.

  • @bendenisereedy7865
    @bendenisereedy7865 17 днів тому

    Can't believe all the garbage you eat. You dont need those energy chews or bars during a ride, just have the coffee (and a cake if you must) then a high-protein snack within half an hour of finishing. Beans on toast or scrambled eggs on toast is ideal. As we age our testosterone level plummets and natural female androgen predominates causing weight gain and less ability to build muscle. Read Phil Cavell's The Midlife Cyclist to understand.

    • @veloperformance
      @veloperformance 17 днів тому

For high intensity my understanding is that there’s a risk that fasted won’t burn fat for adults since the body is too slow to do so @ high intensity. Keep up the good work but please… don’t tell us the summer is about to be over 🙏😁

      Hoping the summer is with us for a while. Fat metabolises much slower than carbs and requires more oxygen which is why it’s a poor substrate for high intensity.

      The calories burnt on the Stairmaster for 15 minutes is back to zero after the 15 seconds it takes to down your sports drink

    I have to disagree but only because of magnesium. taking Magnesium has completely elevated the quality of my sleep and that is huge for recovery, if you haven't tried it I really recommend it. I assume I must not get enough from my diet

      Yeah I’d agree that magnesium can help with sleep. But what I’m really getting across here is that if you don’t have the fundamentals of training and nutrition in check most supplements are a pointless. But for sure getting sleep in check to improve recovery is a 👍🏼 call.
